"Well, it would seem that now's the time to end a very long and enjoyable day!" The Head Doctor said with relieved sigh as soon as the intercom clicked on. "And remember to get some sleep tonight, because tomorrow will be a very, very big day for all of us! Going to town is a very rare occassion, though we hope to make it a weekly trip from now on, if we manage to keep the paperwork in order.

"In any case, that's all for today except for our four patients who will be undergoing some special sleep studies tonight, and who can of course skip the field trip tomorrow if they feel they're not up to the task! I do hope everyone has a decent amount of rest, however, and that we all enjoy a decidedly peaceful slumber.

"Good night, everyone!"

The intercom clicked off, though it wouldn't be silent for long.

There it came again, that familiar and continuously unsettling static that echoed through every nook and cranny that Landel's had to offer. It was almost as if the Head Doctor planned his nighttime announcements this way, that he wanted to make sure he started off the patients on the wrong foot no matter what room they crept out from.

"Yes, yes, a trip to our local town would certainly be a good change of pace for all of you wretched souls, wouldn't it? Ha ha... Indeed, I hope that certain old comrades come to pay me a visit while I spend my time strolling, though don't you pathetic fools take that as an invitation to harass me with your useless attacks. I am invulnerable and I have little patience for games that I don't set the rules of."

He paused, and the crackling got louder.

"You really should head down, fellows. Down, down, into the ground, where the answers to riddles await you. Down, down, down... A door in the kitchen..."

The static finally drowned out the Head Doctor's voice until all became silent.

The doors unlocked.

Larsa knew far too well the routine that occurred with Nightshift nowadays. With his own roommate having been taken by the Institute two nights prior, he could not afford to risk the assumption that his Guardian had not been met with the same fate. And so, he only found it fitting to traverse to the latter's room and check himself.

The Hallway was still empty when he stepped out, clutching at his flashlight as he cautiously descended down the area. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to traverse about this early, but he felt that if he maneuvered by quickly enough he could avoid an encounter all together.

With his mindset firmly planted to that belief, Larsa wasted no time making his way down to the set of doors that led to the next Hallway.

As exciting as talking to his roommate was, Fai was anxious to meet up with his new friends for the night.  As he listened to the static crackle over the radio system, everything seemed to fall into place.  It really wasn't a madhouse, but it seemed more like one large puzzle game.

He took the flashlight from the drawer as instructed, but didn't see much else worth bringing.  He waved a pleasant goodbye to his roommate before he slipped out the door and toward the bathrooms.

The shinigami knocked on Signum's door and waited, her eyes scanning the hallway for movement as she waited. She hoped the rest of her team would arrive quickly, not knowing which room Hokuto was in much less Saber. What block would Saber be traveling from?

A stronger hope was for both Byakuya and Robin hood to arrive in mere moments so she could get them their shovels and out of her hair - especially Byakuya. Why did the enemy have to bring him here? She'd have preferred just about any other captain at the moment... .

Wesker was out of his room as soon as the door unlocked. While the man who had agreed to escort him to the lab said he had business to do first, Wesker wanted to be at M22 before William or Krauser had a chance to arrive.

He took both his knives, and the exacto knife was once again hidden in the coat he wore. It was always good to have something in reserve just in case.

Thankfully his trip would be a short one, just the next hall over.

06 October 2007 @ 10:46 am

Dinner had been thankfully uneventful, but now it was time for the part of the night that Statesman was not particularly looking forward.

He wondered who Logan was bringing along... maybe the kid he'd mentioned was afraid of revealing his identity? Well, either way, Logan seemed like the trustworthy type. And Recluse would probably be even more unhappy when he noticed that, not only did Marcus have stars on his shoulders, but there was another hero who had decorated his uniform with them.

Marcus decided to make a quick sweep of the hall since he appeared to be the first patient out, and make sure that no monsters were waiting to ambush patients just out of their rooms.

06 October 2007 @ 10:53 am
Though the taunts of the man on the radio offered new places to be searching that night, Sai already had plans in mind. Unless Usopp was up for changing them on his own, the ninja wasn't going to do so himself.

He stepped outside his room warily, flashlight in hand and burdened with the numerous supplies he had to return to his friend, hoping that setting out as soon as he could would lower the risk of running into anything along the way. One could only hope. So he didn't wait to see if he would see Sasuke again, coming from his own room, despite the fact that he hadn't caught him for a couple nights now. He simply went into a run towards the next hall.

Anise Tatlin
06 October 2007 @ 11:10 am
Luckily for Anise, the institution's widespread blackout struck seconds after she had completed her little sewing project. The bad news was that her flashlight was--to her knowledge--still lying around on the floor of some laboratory on the second floor. She hadn't thought anything of leaving it at the time, but she now found herself regretting it just a little bit. Until her friends arrived with their own lights, she wouldn't be able to see anything at all.

Still, the room was small and simple enough that she could make her way around by memory. Stepping slowly so as to not stumble into anything, she carried the newly completed doll and placed it on top of the shared dresser. While its color and texture were a little off, the doll's shape was unmistakably like Tokunaga. With pointed teeth in a menacing adorable grin, it stared blankly with its button eyes across the dark room. Maybe her roommate wouldn't share her taste in decor, but for Anise the addition made the room feel a little less foreign.

She would have liked to finish more sewing before the meeting, but the darkness made that a little too difficult to bother. Instead, she carried her supplies to the dresser and dumped them in the bottom drawer. She then retrieved the metal pipe she had hidden in her room, and set it at the foot of her bed.

There! It looked like she was ready. With little else to do, she flopped onto her bed, rested her head on the pillow, and waited.

Aidou Hanabusa
[from over here]

Although, he didn't need a room number to know where he was going, that much was true. The blood scent was strong, stronger than the average person's. And even if it wasn't, he was still competent enough to track it - a vampire's senses were superior, after all. They had no true weaknesses beyond a hunter's weaponry.

The tattoo stung him in rhythmic intervals, reminding of all the little things that made him doubt. Today along two people had called him weak, both children, both with their own visible injuries. And yet they'd both had the

Shut up, he spat in his own head, and kept moving through the shadows.

The only reason he hadn't outright refused Bella's request was that he had been planning to head in that direction all along. Where the humans went to the cafeteria for their food, Aidou went to the female cell block. It was the only place to find a good meal; that girl Claire had to be around somewhere.

When Barret came to the door, he was torn between knocking and busting up in there.

...Well, he wasn't trying to piss Cloud off just yet by bounding in his room uninvited, so the former won out.

He knocked, "Hey Spike, you in there?  Time to go."

Her neck still hurt and the cold had yet to ease, but Rhode had to force herself not to care. No matter what her mind told her, it wasn't important and, as she now repeated over and over to herself, it wasn't real. She was convinced of that. These emotions that kept plaguing her were merely those of the ghost woman, nothing more.

That's all she could believe to keep the emotions from overwhelming her.

One hand running along the wall and the other at her neck, she again left her room, following the path she remembered and now had memorized courtesy of Larxene's map. There were two places that Allen Walker had been that she had always managed to find him at or around: the doors outside the Sun Room, and the area just a floor above that place. She hoped the latter would not need venturing into and that Allen would be on the bottom floor. Seeing the ghost woman again would not be a welcome sight.

Riddick was out the door as soon as it unlocked, shiv out and partly hidden in his grasp. He sprinted by the other two doors towards the adjoining passage, heading for the hallway containing the room and the man who was his target.

Nightshift had approached, and Barret was on that door as soon as the locked released. He'd discarded his empty plate for his flashlight and radio, taking to the hall with a swiftness. He made a note to listen to the Head Doctor this time.

Down...obviously meant to basement, and according to his insinuation, the entrance had to be a door located within the kitchen. That's where his group would head that night. Uncover the mysteries veiled before their eyes...

In the meantime, he had a small mission--take Cloud to the meeting. He didn't trust he wouldn't do something foolish on his own such as face his opponent alone. Barret would be there to make sure that didn't happen.

Luxord never did get to answer Noah's second question. Not particularly caring of his roommate's fate, the Gambler merely retrieved the card left on the other's bed after the man left, returned to his own side of the room, and once again placed Tyche into his arms. Legs crossed and kitten resting against his chest, Luxord waited.

Thing were about to get very interesting for his dearest Freeshooter. And it was so terrible that he'd not be able to see what the remnant would do to Larxene, but ah well. The less involved Luxord seemed, the more according to plan it would be.

II and XII were about to learn why one does not tempt Fate or gamble against Time. It would be a very, very telling lesson.

The hallway was empty here as well. Just how much earlier had she headed out tonight? Probably not by much. The absence of others in the hallway barely bothered Rhode as did the presence of others. Her mind was usually so dead focused on getting somewhere or finding someone that she had never really paid attention to what other things happened around her.

A left at the next hallway and down a bit for the doors on the left. That should be right. She hoped the ghost woman's influence on her wasn't messing with her memory.

Good, everything still looked familiar. Or as familiar as was possible in the darkness. Rhode still had yet to discover the joys that belonged to the flashlight nestled beneath her pillow, but her eyes were so accustomed to the darkness of her own dimensions that the hallways did not bother her. A little light would have been welcome, if only to flash against her golden eyes and scare away whomever had the misfortune to stumble onto her. She smiled at the thought of someone screaming as they ran away.

Only a little farther now.

And there they were: the doors to the Sun Room!

But where was Allen?! Rhode stood at the doors, tapping her foot and looking around. There had been such a gathering here last time, so why wasn't anyone here now? Not that she cared for anyone past her favorite white haired exorcist, but she had still expected to at least find someone there!

She peered inside the open doors, not finding Allen through the darkness and rather doubting that he was in there (his glowing eye would have given away enough light for her to spot easily. Allen Walker out of sight, and no reason yet to go in search of the area above her, Rhode turned her back to the doors, folded her arms, and took to tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for him to show up. She'd give him... at least a few minutes before deciding to yell at him the next day for making her wait.

06 October 2007 @ 02:03 pm
Recluse left his cell as soon as the doors unlocked, fighting the urge to ignore the necessity of stealth and simply stride down the hall. He was already angry, furious at the fact that he had to deal with Marcus now.

He had made the knives, and started the rust acid reaction again, building up more materials for thermite. He was also carrying the bleach and paint thinner, so he could start working with them once he got to the kitchen.

He sighed, shaking his head. The kitchen. Landel was pathetic. Like a petulant little child. He had a very, very good idea of where the hidden door was. If your little playthings hadn't been blocking my way all last night, I would have already found that door, you raving megalomaniac!

After dinner, Rangiku had taken the opportunity to stretch and work the aches out of sore muscles. Gin's healing had done a lot of good (at least she wasn't on crutches anymore), but she was still stiff and sore. When the doors opened, she began to gather her things up. Knife, journal and pens along with a few of the drugs she had collected. Flashlight too. Who knew how dark it would be beyond those doors, even if her night vision was quite good. She'd be glad for the feel of a real katana in her hands, even if it could never compare to Haineko.

She levelled a glare at the intercom box when the Head Doctor spoke, thinking that maybe they should just leave him in his own trap and see how he fared when they destroyed this place, rather than killing him outright. It would be poetic justice, she felt. She wondered if there was any use in trying to destroy those boxes, just to not have to listen to him blathering on. It would be rather restful.

Making sure that she was set, she stepped out into the corridor and began to head towards the male block.

Recluse turned the corner into the cell block hallway, still internally ranting about Landel. He was used to being the one in control of people like that infuriating doctor. There was a whole recruitment program for 'Mad Scientists' in Arachnos.

The vast majority of them ended up being killed by their on projects. Often in quite amusing, bloody, agonizing ways. That one little thought made everything seem just a little bit better.

It had been about an hour since the nurse stuffed Dib's mouth with something she claimed was 'chicken pot pie,' but he was pretty sure that it wasn't. The way he was strapped down left him completely defenseless, so it wasn't like he could have resisted. Heck, even when he spat it out, she just kept feeding him more, assuring him that it was for 'his own good.'

This was definitely his dad's doing.

Once he was laid to rest in his bed, Dib closed his eyes and waited until he had decided the coast was clear, which he decided, was now.

"Alright," he started as he got up to his feet to explore. "Let's see what we have here." He lifted up his pillow. "A flashlight. Good, good." The boy continued to check every single spot in his room until he had (hopefully) gathered everything he needed. "So," he got out his notebook and pen, "I've got a key ring, a flashlight, this really big coat, some pens, and batteries." Dib gave a small grimace. "Not enough to escape this place, but it's definitely a start. Now all I need to do is sneak out of my room and map out the asylum so I can make my grand escape!"

He put on the coat, grabbed the notebook and flashlight, and went out the door.

622 methodically swept the light from his glowstick across the hall, carefully watching for hostiles. After having to act 'normal' during the daytime, this was almost a relief. Even though he had no armor, no real weapons, and no back-up, at least he didn't have to pretend to like it anymore.

The end of day announcement set Homura into motion as always. The night before had been rewarding, and he had a few things to get together before he headed out. Though he was reluctant to leave what he couldn't take with Ken in no hurry to vacate, there was little choice, as Homura had appointments to keep.

Especially the one involving his sword.

So once the items he was going to take had been gathered, the demi-god headed out, sword in hand, and took pause at his door. The stray thought concerning Kyouya hadn't left his mind, and Homura looked towards the other's room.

Would the boy emerge, or should Homura take the effort to seek him out?

Either way, the war prince wouldn't wait long.

Ginji finished his dinner happily and then took out his notebook, doodling inside of it.

He tried to ignore what the Head Doctor said because it made him sad. A lot of stuff seemed to make him sad lately. He didn't like feeling that way. He wished Ban would hurry up and rescue him, since he couldn't think of a plan to get out on his own, especially while his leg was still hurt pretty badly.

Hopefully, that would at least be better soon. He glanced at the door and wondered how long it would take for the person to come, if they did at all, to help him out. He also wondered what kind of 'healing' powers they had.

06 October 2007 @ 03:04 pm
Ken watched Homura leave before flopping backward to end up sprawled across his bed. The other man had obviously been either wanting him to leave or wanting to take more with him when he left--probably so Ken couldn't go snooping through his stuff. But it'd be stupid to take anything from a person he had to live with--he'd be the first suspect.

That, and he was an assassin, not a thief. He had enough with the killing, he wasn't about to add stealing to his mental crime list.

Aya had said he was coming by at lunch--he wondered if his teammate would still remember that. If not, he'd at least get some decent sleep tonight.

Zabuza knocked on the door roughly. He didn't bother calling through it.

If his boy was on the other side (and his boy better be on the other side) he would know the way that Zabuza knocked and open it for him.

Or get his roommate to open the door. Zabuza wasn't sure how much moving around Haku should do. He would find out soon enough.

The room number would make it fairly simple to navigate the facility until she met with the Vice Captain and Signum, the warrior she'd spoken with earlier. As Saber stepped out into the hallway, seeing nothing but darkness, she closed her eyes. What they had all said seemed to be true so far, though she hadn't doubted it after confirming it with Signum earlier. It was unlikely that more than one person would share such a story, lest they all be playing her for a fool. The only matter left would be to test the limits of her power as a Servant here.

Saber concentrated her mana, a much dimer, golden-white light than usual surrounding her as her hair began to billow in some unseen wind. All too soon, the energy faded, leaving her breathless for a moment despite the fact that she was not even clad in her usual armor or dress. Thankfully, she had not been completely crippled; Saber quirked an eyebrow as she felt the familiar weight of Excalibur, sheathed and at her side. Having such a bond with her weapon, it was clear the moment it had manifested that the blade's power itself had been lessened. It was troublesome, but at least it was here to provide her some means of defense.

Producing the flashlight that she only recognized thanks to her time spent in Shirou's world, Saber pressed the button, the cone of light startled her still, as she moved down the hallway, paying no mind to anyone that might've witnessed the display.

The conversation with Sousuke had gone a lot easier tonight. If Usopp's roommate was really so insecure, it made things simpler for Usopp, although he didn't feel entirely comfortable with the idea of trying to bully Sousuke into agreeing that Usopp's behavior was normal and that Sousuke was the one who had a problem, should Sousuke ever start to catch on to who and what Usopp really was. Maybe Sousuke had gotten something out of their talk too. They'd been having a really pleasant chit-chat, all in all, it might help Sousuke as a model for future conversation.

Still, talking was not working, and so Usopp kept the door to his room open as an invite, glancing around the hallway to see if anyone he knew was down it, before sitting at his desk with his flashlight and starting to make a new copy of the maps. This map was going to Sanji, of course--he didn't exactly trust Luffy or Zoro to follow a map or even not to lose it.

Addressing Sai, he explained, "I'm hoping to have a couple more people drop by tonight--at least one I'm sure of." Yuber was fairly reliable, for an Incarnation of Chaos. "I'll be done with this in a second, really, then we can start working on the weapons. Thanks for bringing my stuff! How are you with origami?"

After Momo had departed, Integra was resigned to her indefinite wait for the vampire yet again. She could never know how quick he would or would not be, but knew the time in between must pass so much slower for her, having so little to do. Still sitting on her bed, the woman made another map copy by flashlight -for him again- now including the new information her roommate had provided.

Integra still wondered as well if the stranger Mustang had assigned to meet with them would show after all. She’d left her room number on the bulletin board, but couldn’t know if the one named Dias had ever seen it. Whoever they were, she assumed they’d be intelligent enough to knock at least if they did come before her servant reached her though. The knight had no intention of waiting in the hall as an idle target by herself.

After finishing the newest map, she tucked it back away with its identical brethren also in her pocket. If they did end up having company, she and Alucard could always share one and give the other to Dias. If the stranger didn’t have their own by now. Surely everyone had been covering more ground each night and documenting it. Cutting the flashlight back off to conserve the battery, Integra stretched to lay out on her sheets in the darkness. There was no fault in resting while she could, though the fools better knock before barging in.

Dinner had been... uneventful. As uneventful as listening to the violent thoughts of his roommate could be, but Naoya supposed that it could have gone worse. He shivered for a moment at the thought as grabbed his flashlight and began searching the room. He hadn't given this room a thorough search when he had first arrived; the first time because he had overslept and the other two times due to the urge to get outside-- whether because of desperation or determination, it did not matter. But now that he had time he could easily search every nook and cranny.

The result didn't produce much, keyrings and pens, enough pieces of the puzzle to motivate but still leave the players (or puppets) confused and wandering the dark. Naoya sighed, plopping down on his bed. Where was niisan? Was he okay? Was the map Naoya had made helpful? Naoya closed his eyes. His brother had said he was unable to talk to him telepathically, but it couldn't hurt to try anyway... Right?

'Niisan.'

He waited a long moment. Nothing. His brother was right, they couldn't reach each other that way anymore. Naoya sighed once more and reopened his eyes, it looked like he would have to just wait.

The discussion he ws having with his roomate was interrupted by the sound of the intercom coming on. Tonight the Head Doctor seemed to be quite more focused on getting the patients to explore the lower levels of the institute. Unlike last night, he had revealed the fact that there was a door in the kitchen supposedly leading to them. L frowned a little. The fact that he seemed more eager now only increased his suspicions that what lay below was unpleasant.

L directed his attention to the doors as they unlocked, “Are you planning on going out there?” He asked his roommate. It would probably take a while for Naomi to arrive. He didn’t say it, but he was hoping that the room would be empty before she showed up. He had no desire to have his roommate or anyone else listening in on their conversation.

Snake eased himself off the bed the second the lights went out, straightening himself out, tensing his body. More than ever, he had to be careful tonight - the last thing he wanted was to get himself critically injured and miss his little trip to 'Doyletown'.

He buttoned up the front of the coat, took out the torch and the scalpel, and was about to open the door to leave before there was a sharp, extremely deliberate knocking.

He frowned. It sounded like whoever it was was hitting it with an object - he could feel through the door it was cold, metallic, and sense the person standing there.

He smirked, and pulled the door open.

"That your secret knock?" he greeted Fox, not bothering to hide how pleased he was to see him again.

Out in the cold corridor, Soubi knocked on the door to M35 and walked straight in before it's inhabitants could think to answer. He shot a dark look towards Suoh and turned to Ritsuka, smiling.

"Are you ready?" he asked. He wasn't gloating. No. Not at all. The fact that Ritsuka was indeed his friend and even wanted Soubi (that's right, Soubi - not Tamaki) to come with him tonight was nothing to be smug about. It was just as Soubi had tried to explain to doubting Tamaki last night. There was no real need to say 'in your face'. But it would have been nice to.

He did, at least, restrain from holding his hand out. Hand holding would come when they made their way outside, down the dark corridors.

Scar
06 October 2007 @ 07:42 pm
Scar didn't immediately venture out into the hallway. His green eyes stared into the darkness, able to make out the silhouettes of the objects standing in the seemingly safe confinement that was his room. He noted with irritation that his vision was worse than it had been before his arrival. He hadn't noticed it in bright daylight, but now that he was surrounded by complete darkness he saw his eyes weren't what they were supposed to be. While the king should have been able to see perfectly, all he could make out were outlines.

Just the thing he needed...

It was only one of the things that made the former lion hesitate to leave his room. After all, he was in the possession of useless teeth, nails that couldn't even scratch properly and the balance of an elephant that only sported one leg. Even the most sad excuse of a hunter would be able to catch the 'easy prey' signal radiating from him. Venturing out almost equaled suicide. Breathing a little while longer happened to be rather high on the king's list of priorities.

Sitting around the entire night, however, hardly sounded appealing either. Not to mention it wouldn't get anything done, much less get his former body back. He supposed he could always attempt finding someone that could serve as a proper shield body guard ally. There were plenty of patients, after all. He may not have the strength, but his brains were in perfect condition. Chances were he could find and convince someone soon enough, hopefully before running into something that wanted a midnight snack.

After he had made his decision, he opted to investigate this small space before venturing out. It took longer than should, and there was nothing of interest or even remotely familiar to him. He was already considering his search a waste of time when he reached the object which was called 'bed'. Removing the strange fabrics draped over it was difficult for someone who couldn't quite use his fingers, but it yielded nothing. His eyes eventually fell on the soft item laying on the bed's end. Throwing it aside, he noticed another strange object hidden beneath it.

The former lion somehow managed to curl his fingers around the item and lifted it. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of purpose such an item served, and after fiddling around with it his question was answered soon enough. A small light beamed from one of its sides, making Scar nearly drop the item in alarm. But the light didn't seem to burn like fire did, which meant the item would be useful in outweighing his eyesight.

His gaze shifted to the door.

Mason

Mason finished his copy of the map with an unnecessary flourish, and handed the original back to Raiden. It had become crumpled around the edges just by being in Mason's possession for a few minutes, but he hoped the other man wouldn't mind. "Thanks, Raiden," he said, stuffing his copy into the waistband of his pants. He missed his own clothes, with their multitude of convenient pockets.

It was then that the intercom turned on, causing Mason to jump nearly out of his skin. "What the fuck is going on?" he demanded, clutching his chest. If his heart had been able to beat, it probably would have danced right up his throat and out his mouth and be halfway to Mexico by now. The creepy voice on the intercom with its mean words, and the creepy door opening creepily didn't help. Mason really didn't like it here. Being high, he decided, would be a definite plus right about now.

Finally, the right hallway. Crawford slowed down and checked the number on each door carefully to make sure he had the right one. When M43 came into sight, he flicked off the flashlight and knocked on the door, twice.

If Schuldig's roommate was still around ... well, he hadn't met the man, so he doubted there would be any damage done prematurely.

Nearly as soon as the doors unlocked, Yohji pulled out the pack of cigarettes and the matches. Ignoring his roommate and any protests he might have, the assassin placed one of them between his lips and lit it up with practiced motions. He took a drag on it and closed his eyes, almost in bliss, before releasing the smoke and letting it drift to the ceiling. Damn, he'd missed this. Maybe he should have used the chance to quite, but here more than anywhere else, he figured he'd probably die before the cigarettes did anything to him.

Needless to say, he hadn't told any of Weiss about the things he'd managed to scrounge last night. He didn't think that they'd approve of him wasting his time with them. But he'd take his comforts where he could.

He leaned back against the wall next to his bed and waited for Cliff to arrive.

The intercom announcement, as usual, only served to irritate Sasuke -- this time, though, for a different reason. It was clear that there was something Landel was getting at, and finding this basement might be useful or at least interesting.

And Sasuke was stuck in his room again, waiting for someone else to come to him. Waiting wasn't his habit or his strength; if Kakashi didn't show up soon, Sasuke was going to leave and explore on his own.

Blind or not. Sometimes, the best way to improve was to plunge headfirst into danger. Kakashi, of all people, should know that one.

After figuring out how to open the door, Scar carefully peeked into the hallway. The hall was dark, but the former lion couldn't see anything move. Closing the door quietly behind him, he slowly moved further down the hallway while using the wall as support. He found that he could retain his balance better while having something to lean on.

Scar stumbled into yet another empty hallway. The nurse had taken him into the right direction this morning, which had led to the sun room and all the other connecting rooms. He wondered what happened to be located in the opposite direction.

Continuing, the king eventually noticed the door at the end of the hall. Fiddling around with the handle, he managed to push it open and felt the cold breeze from outside on his skin.

[From here. Unknowingly waiting for Star Dragon Sword, so please don't interrupt without permission unless you're a nightshifter]

As Scar stood in the door opening, he found himself to be quite surprised to inhale the outside air. Being in a prison, he hardly expected part of this Landels to be outside. Not that the former lion minded; it was certainly something he preferred. Unlike the small spaces and hallways, outside seemed to be less of an confinement. More of what he was used to, even though it was still quite the difference.

Shutting the door behind him, he swept the lights-tick across the area. The darkness made it difficult for only his eyes to see what kind of area it was. He noticed the area was made out of grass. He could also see the faint outlines of things further on the area; things he couldn't quite identify.

He hesitated to move further. If he proceeded, there was no wall to support him which would make walking all the more difficult.
