Nightshift 27: M31-40 Hallway
Wesker was out of his room as soon as the door unlocked. While the man who had agreed to escort him to the lab said he had business to do first, Wesker wanted to be at M22 before William or Krauser had a chance to arrive.
He took both his knives, and the exacto knife was once again hidden in the coat he wore. It was always good to have something in reserve just in case.
Thankfully his trip would be a short one, just the next hall over.

Soubi quickened his pace. The hall was only scattered with a few patients each heading out on their own missions. He stopped and lingered outside M35. Should he knock, or barge in? Soubi wasn't sure Ritsuka would enjoy being stuck in the middle of Soubi and that meddlesome roommate. But then, it'd be pleasant to see Ritsuka stand up for him.
He knocked and entered (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/220695.html).

M33. That was the right room, if he remembered correctly. A jostling of items and he had set the flour at his feet, using the freed hand to knock on the door.
"Usopp," he said in a voice just a touch louder than the way he normally spoke. So far, so good. The more they could accomplish tonight, the better.

When the doors clicked open, he started to gather whatever he needed with him. Ken's claw, which he had cleaned this morning just as painstakingly as he would have done with his own weapon, flashlight and a sweater. He didn't think he'd need anything else on his short trip on the hallways, not that he had much more equipments anyhow.
Ken had said not to make his appearance at the first possible moment, and Aya was prone to comply to his suggestions. He'd know better his own roommate, and Aya found it hard to care.
Eventually he flicked on his flashlight, glanced one last time towards Ravi's bed and headed to the hallways.

Bast cracked open the door and peeked in, not seeing or hearing anyone within. Wonderful! Another room for him! Yay!
Opening the door, Bast ambled in and began snooping about. These rooms had such interesting things these days. Stripping the bed of sheets, he decided that Aya's blanket looked lonely and would probably like to go back to his room and hang out with his blanket. Folding it up carefully, he tucked the blanket into his pillow case.
"Getting a little heavy," he said to himself, eyeing Aya's pillow.
A minute later, Bast had Aya's pillowcase too. In return, he dug out the battery he had stolen from Armand and sneaked it into Aya's desk drawer. It was a fair trade. Really!
Humming to himself, Bast poked around somemore. He would swear there was a scent or something in the room that seemed familiar.

Despite his situation, he had chuckled morosely at the intercom's message, rather amused at the human ego behind it. This was going to turn into one of those late-night dramas, wasn't it? Give a man a little power, and watch as it consumes him...
Abandoning his roommate to his own devices, the boy stuck his head into the night air, rather stagnant and filled with a mix of buzzed thoughts and a myriad of scents. He'd found the flashlight, under his pillow where he'd be told to look. Now, it was just a matter of following the right trail.

He felt even more vulnerable now that he knew all the danger was real. He wished he had his wand, but he wasn't about to back down and hide like a little child.
Forcing himself to feel confident he moved towards where he knew the lavatories were.

Tonight, he had plans, and Hiei was not the most patient person in the world. The fox set off quickly down the hall, avoiding the other patients as much as possible. The Sun Room, that's where he needed to be.

Sousuke took off at a run, gritting his teeth. He would find her tonight. If she was here, he'd find her--and with no distractions or interruptions this time.

His movements gave off the impression of confidence as the knight made his way down the hallway. The knowledge of it Usopp had other guests in his room didn’t even occur to Yuber, nor did he care if there was anyone else within. His ally was more than aware that he was coming, and that’s all that mattered to the knight. Yuber’s long strides easily took him down the hall until he reached Usopp’s room, and without so much as a care to what could be happening within; sauntered into his ally’s quarters.

Checking that he had all of his supplies and that Soubi at least had his flashlight, Ritsuka followed the Fighter out of the room. It was going to be a long trek up to the second floor if the previous nights proved anything and he was all too wary for signs of danger. Leaving his flashlight off for now, he looked up at Soubi and motioned down the hall.
Ritsuka was more than a little single-minded when it came to the night at Landel's. He had a goal in mind and he wanted to get there as soon as he could. Or just generally get there. He'd been failing pretty spectacularly at that lately.
"I think it's on the second floor, but getting there might be a problem," he said, looking up at Soubi.
no subject
"Why do you say that?" he asked. "Because of the monsters...?"
He needed to know what they were up against. He kept his flashlight on, but aimed it at the ground so he could watch where he was going.
no subject
"Yeah, because of the monsters. I'm thinking the room is going to be guarded and even if it isn't, I tend to attract them for some weird reason." A statement of fact rather than a lamentation. He'd been attacked every single night and he didn't expect the trend to break pattern just because one other person was with him.

It was almost a relief to return to M35. Once this was over, Ritsuka was all his again, but this time they only had one place to go and it would, hopefully, be void of danger.
Soubi stood back, letting Ritsuka be first in (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/231379.html).

He strolled out of Usopp’s room and down the hallway; his movements never once pausing until he reached the door leading outside of the block. There was still that meeting with Logan that he needed to go to, and then after that, he held the desire to drop in on that human who had caught his interest.

Kratos strode down the hallway, carefully counting the room numbers until M35. Had anyone else shown up before him or was he the first one to arrive?
He stopped before the door and knocked twice before entering.

He woke when the doors clicked opene and stretched langruously, working the sleepiness out of his body. Even a god couldn't go forever without sleep, although his stamina was still damn good when compared with a normal human.
Now, just to wait and see what this guy was like. With a grin, Kenren went to lean against the door frame, just inside the room but positioned so he could see up towards the end of the corridor.
no subject
And he'd made it to his destination quietly, without being noticed. Captain Jack normally liked to get some attention, but not necessarily when it'd mess up the only good set of clothes he currently owned. (Though it wouldn't be that hard to go back up to the mail room and look through boxes until he found other things that fit.) The night just smelled too much like blood for his peace of mind.
As he headed up the hall, he noticed someone out and waiting, and grinned. It was hard to tell, with the light as dim as it was, but it certainly looked like he'd landed a hotty. And one with a good sense of humor, if the message board had been any indication. Perfect.
"Evening," he said.
[OMG ZALIA I'M SO SORRY!!! I didn't see that you'd posted for Kenren until now. D8 *profound fail*]

The guy coming towards him must be the one. Definitely worth waiting for if Kenren said so himself. He grinned at the man, flipping him a mock salute. "Hey there," he replied, pushing himself away from the wall so he could get a better look at his 'date' for tonight. "Kenren Taisho. Glad to finally get to meet you."
no subject
He was standing a little closer than was strictly polite in a business meeting, but considering all the flirting they'd don already - if not in person - he didn't see any reason to be standoffish.
And the guy was really, really hot. That certainly didn't hurt either.
no subject
The closeness didn't phase him a all, he welcomed it in fact, and moved an inch or so closer.
no subject
He grinned. "So you gonna invite me in?" he asked, his tone teasing.
no subject
"Sure thing," he replied, reluctantly pulling away just a little and pushing the door to his room further open so they could both step inside for more pleasurable activities than the night usually offered.
no subject
He followed the man into his room, sticking as close as possible without causing anyone to trip. As soon as they were inside, he slipped his hands around the man's waist, under his shirt, and decided to investigate just how good of a kisser he was.

no subject
He made an appreciative sound at the kisses he was receiving; for his part, he took his time exploring Kenren's mouth. A little anticipation added to the fun.
no subject
He pulled away from the kiss reluctantly after a few moments, and pressed his lips against the man's jawline, working his way down his neck teasingly.

The intercom announcement was kind enough to give him a destination. Yes, the basement and the door to it were likely traps set to catch the stupid or unwary, but it had long been Omi's experience that going into a trap with your eyes open was often one of the safer means to getting what you wanted. Let your opponent overestimate you, and you were one step closer to beating him.
He slipped out his door after giving Kurama plenty of time to get far away from the room, flashlight in one hand, Kurama's darts in the other. The knife and syringe were carefully stashed against need. It had been ages since he'd been allowed a solo mission. Time he found out whether he still had the skills or not.

...like the hot chick (or so she claimed) and her lesbian friend from the bulletin board.
Taking his notebook and pen along (in case he needed to get their names and numbers for when he was out of this place), he scooped up his flashlight and headed into the hall.

M32
Whew! Well, now that everything was taken care of, all Jack could do was wait. Whether it was a cigarettes or sex, he had nothing better to do and was still in pretty bad shape from his fight with Gin the previous night. Maybe he would do something novel like sleep.
Actually, that didn't sound too bad. Sliding Larxene's journal under his pillow (after skimming the entries, of course), he pulled the sheets over himself and dozed off.
He was a light sleeper- surely he'd wake up if someone showed up...

At least all the patients he passed seemed to have their own agenda, and kept to themselves. The dinner had only reminded him how he had meat constantly dangling in front of his face, but clearly had a look, don't touch sign on it.
Augh.
Finding the right door, he didn't waste a moment in stopping to knock or yell out, swinging the door open to see it empty, completely devoid of that stupid blond.
M40
Fuck.
Stalking through the room, he flashed his light on a needle-like appendage stuck in the wall, with a note hanging from it. Upon closer inspection, he could see the milk-white limb was from a scorpion. Probably the one he had eaten a few nights ago. Except Heat hadn't ever given him a chance to feast on any part of the thing, so perhaps he'd gotten it elsewhere.
Written in a messy but organized scrawl, Heat glared hard enough for the paper to almost catch fire.
They came for me.
Wasn't that just his luck. Ripping the stinger from the wall, the Tuner grabbed the paper, balling it up and tossing it down the hallway outside.
Hell, he couldn't complain much, except the wasted effort getting here. Heat much preferred being by his lonesome. And if we has really lucky, he'd run into a rather ravenous Thunder God, lounging on a throne of corpses. Just like the old days.
From M37
After grabbing the pan he'd kept hidden in his closet, he didn't waste any time in picking up his flashlight and stepping out of the door. Unfortunately, with no map, and little to no sense of direction to speak of, Luffy had no idea to go.
Of course, he was never one to let little things like that stop him.

His long strides were silent as they took him back towards his ally’s appointed room. Moving within the shadows, Yuber silently made his way down the hallway until he came before Usopp’s living quarters. The door had been opened the first time he’d arrived, and it made the knight wonder if perhaps his ally was still inside or not. Raising a hand up, he knocked on the door with his knuckles before waiting see if he got a reply.
no subject
There was a sound of scraping as Usopp pulled the chair back out of the way, then peered around the door suspiciously, nose first. Seeing Yuber, his expression brightened, and he opened the door wider. "Oh, we're almost done! You can check out the finished one while we take care of the other one."
He leaned back into the room to tell Sai who their visitor was.

Danny's run had slowed to a jog. Running with that pipe over his shoulder was harder than he thought it would be. Pausing for a second, leaning over his knees and catching his breath, he set the pipe down at his feet and looked at the door behind him.
M35. Well, wasn't that convenient?
Telling himself he could catch his breath later, he picked the pipe up again and opened the door, hoping that this really was the right room, and he hadn't misheard anything.

Re: M35
Danny sighed a breath of relief. That place was a real mess, it looked like. Hoisting the pipe above his shoulder once more, he broke into a jog down the hall and back where he'd come from.

This looked a lot more familiar. Yeah, he was pretty sure this was the patient blocks, judging by the rows of doors. It'd take a few minutes to locate M37 in the dark like this, but Clark felt a lot better now that he was in somewhat familiar territory and could see to it that Kyon got settled in. He probably wasn't physically injured, seeing as he was walking and keeping pace, but it couldn't hurt to check - he'd have to sneak in an x-ray and look for broken bones whenever he got the chance.
After a while, Clark came to a stop before one of the patient doors, shining his flashlight over the room number. Here we go, he thought. M37. He turned to Kyon.
"I think this's it," he said.
no subject
He turned to the one who'd helped him all the way back here and said, "Thanks for the trouble." He hardly new this guy and yet he'd not only made she he got back okay, but for a bit, even carried him.
A little quieter he added, "I don't think I would have made it back on my own." At least, not without hideously attacking some poor patient for their ....blood.
no subject
The farmboy held open the door for the other patient, stepping to the side to allow him to pass, watching him wordlessly for a moment.
He wasn't too sure yet on Kyon - the jury was still out on him. He seemed to be bouncing back pretty fast, considering how they'd found him not even an hour before, but he wasn't sure what to do now that he had him safe and sound back in his room. There was< that whole vampire thing going on and while he hadn't see any real signs that he was a danger to himself or to anyone else, he had to at least feel he was a bit more sure than kind of before he took off and tried to go back and help Allen, Rinali, and Robin.
no subject
"Yeah, I'll ...be okay." So, he didn't completely believe a word of that, but, what else could he tell Clark? He probably had to get back to his friends anyways. No since in sticking around here for too long.
There was soft throb on the side of his head, and he realized he was starting to bruise from when the doctor banged him across the temple. That was going to be pretty nasty later on. He honestly didn't want to go find a mirror, considering if there was light, he was sure he looked terrible.
