Normally, Sora would have liked the chance to get outside and bask in the fresh air, but seeing how he had gotten that chance yesterday, he figured he should consider his other options more carefully. It had been some time since he had gotten to take it easy in the Game Room, and since he still wasn't one-hundred percent healed after that monster attack two nights ago, finding a comfortable place to sit sounded good to him.

Of course, the first thing he did upon being led there was dig up one of those Game Boys. Even though he knew that he could have been doing something more productive with his time, he figured he was allowed to relax every now and then. He had to make the best of this situation, after all, and so if there was an opportunity to have some fun, he was going to take it!

Once he found one of the Game Boys, Sora headed for one of the couches, glancing around the empty room with a small sigh as he sat himself down. He hoped that some other people showed up soon! Games were fun, but not if he was just sitting and playing one on his own like this.

[Free! Come and get him.]

The patient corridor widened out as it hit the Main Hall. Patients were already moving about, his senses told him, but he was unable to identify who they were. Qui-Gon moved on in the darkness.

Nny was beginning to suspect that he wasn't dreaming. Interestingly enough, it wasn't the length of his stay that was starting to convince him. It was his goddamn headache. You didn't get headaches in dreams, you just didn't. Not unless you'd been drinking the night before, which he hadn't experienced in, well, a really long time (and that was it's own sort of hell). He had to be awake to feel this shitty.

He didn't even go into town with the rest of the patients. He got off the bus, stood around for a few minutes, said "fuck this", turned around, and ran back into one of the other buses. Luckily for him, the nurses had been understanding once he brought up how he felt. They even refrained from bugging him while he desperately tried to wish his existence away. He spent most of the day with his head glued to the back of the seat in front of him, not quite aware, but refusing to fall back asleep.

All in all, his day had gone from okay, to completely horrid.

[Renamon, I think?]

The intercom came on, and as it did, it seemed to carry a little more interference than usual for a daytime announcement, a little more static. While the patients might have thought for a moment that once again the elusive woman on the radio had hacked into the Head Doctor's system, the man himself soon proved that theory faulty as he laughed over the broadcast.

"Hello, hello, everyone, and I'm sorry for the bad quality of this broadcast; we've been having some technical difficulties lately, you see, and we wanted to make sure everything was fixed by tomo...."

His voice crackled out into inaudibility for a moment before fading back in.

"Yes, hopefully that will be done soon. In any case, now's the time that you all head back to your rooms to enjoy a delicious meal... seasoned salmon! Yes, we have filets of very tasty, very juicy salmon seasoned with herbs and garlic; on the side, we have mashed potatoes, peas, and to drink, our usual assortment of beverages. For dinner, you'll all be enjoying vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce."

The intercom's broadcast crackled again. The Head Doctor laughed, seemingly a little nervously.

"Ah, yes, perhaps we'll be able to finish the repairing tomorrow, when all of you are away at... Doyleton! Yes, yes, you're all in for a fun and exciting day, a day whose activities will be new for some and a welcome familiarity to others. You'll be under strict supervision, of course, but... well, I suppose you'll find out all about the circumstances tomorrow, before you set off, mm? Yes! In any case... I hope you all enjoy dinner!"

The intercom clicked off again as the nurses began ushering patients back to their quarters.

As she was waiting to be led out of the cafeteria, Hokuto looked for someone in Arts & Crafts, and spotted... Renji. She covered her mouth with her hands to muffle her giggles; after everything she'd heard about him, he was the LAST person she wanted to go to with this; he'd probably figure out exactly why she wanted the night off and never let her hear the end of it!

I'll just wait for Momo, I guess... she can't spend the whole shift in the shower, right?

Knowing her friend and vice-captain liked fresh air too, she opted to go outside; she settled down in the grass and pulled out her journal. Writing was... kind of a bad idea right now, but she could always draw something. Clothes were always fun, since they were what she liked sketching the most anyway; after some thought, she started on a dress design.

There was one exceedingly good thing about going into the showers, Falis decided; she did't have to wear a shirt. Not having the irritating fabric rubbing across her acid burns was going to be wonderful. There was also one exceedingly bad thing about going into the showers; water on said acid burns was going to hurt.

Furrowing her brow in contemplation and staring at the empty shower room for as long as the vulture assigned to hover over her allowed, the bounty hunter decided the need to clean the residue from the alien she could still feel clinging to her body as well as the blood she knew was dried in the depths of her mane of blonde hair outweighed the pain she'd feel. The look then turned to a lazy smile as she remembered the last time she'd been in the showers. That was when she'd met Hokuto.

Carefulyl stipping the shirt off and, against the wishes of the nurse, the princess divested herself of the bandages, displaying both the moderate acid burns as well as the near foot long stitcched up gash on her right thigh, Falis grabbed a towel and limped to a shower more towards the back. The further away from the vultures, the better.

She hissed as the water (properly temperatured this time) hit her burns and she quickly drenched the towel in water and carefully laid the wet cloth over her left shoulder, covering most of the burns. It still hurt, but it was tolerable. Barely. One hand up against the wall to support herself, she let the water run over her head and through her hair as she looked down at the tiled floor trying to enjoy the feeling of having filth washed from her body.

Oh, look at that - the water was already tinged a dull red.

[Here, Hokuto, Hokuto, Hokuto...]

The intercom startled Falis when it went off and thankfully, she'd set the newly crafted spear down or she might have jabbed a splinter into her palm. As it was, she was stading over her bed looking at all her weapons laid out upon it. One sharp spear, still stained with Eve's blood, one fresh spear, and a stake. Maybe she needed another stake. Nah... Namine should remember hers; Namine didn't forget things. This was why Falis liked the girl so much.

Her eyes moved to look at the intercom as the announcement continued, nodding as it pretty much conformed the whole ancient technology thing she'd been pretty certain of in teh first place. And since it seemed like it was on the fritz, whatever it did, that maybe the princess wasn't going to have to use her super-secret sealing Forland blood anytime soon. Maybe there was another princess around with special blood doing it for them.

What was her name? Jill? Jane? Whatever.

Now, if the people that were supposed to be showing up showed up soon. Bounty hunters had to be patient, but that didn't mean they liked waiting.

Max didn't slow down or even pause to look around her as she slipped out of her hall and headed onwards, a determined expression on her face. If anything was stupid enough to pick a fight with her right now, she'd be more than happy to oblige it.

One moment Beatrix had been lounging calmly on her bed. At the sound of the intercom, the usual prattling Martin Landel did coming across, the Bride stretched and sat up. The moment she heard the door unlock, well before it normally did, she was up and out the door, not a word to her roommate.

Keeping along a wall, she sprinted down the empty hallway, flashlight still dark in her hand. Two nights... two nights in a row she'd made this same trek and two nights in a row she hadn't achieved her goal. This night would be different.

Momo was planning on heading to the red field, but her instructions from Hitsugaya about her needing to see to Mustang had her going to the Sun Room. The shinigami stood by the door, leaning back against the wall, as she waited for the colonel to appear.

There was a knot in Sai's stomach as he was led back inside to the cafeteria. It was an unfamiliar feeling, and he tried to ignore it. What was it? Was he actually uncomfortable with his decision? He couldn't afford to be. This alliance with Itachi was crucial, and he'd just have to try and make sure the others saw it that way.

The promised lunch didn't help, as the fish was fried and generally not something he'd eat on a regular basis. The cod by itself would have been far more preferable. Nevertheless, the ninja took the meal as it was offered, figuring he could simply scrape away at the breading once he'd sat down. He passed up the "chips" completely and just added the cooked carrots in their place. It was somewhat more appealing than he'd anticipated once he sat down.

Having done about all he'd intended to do today already, Sai allowed himself to get comfortable and relax. His wounds needed time to heal, even in this place. The more rest he got, the faster that would happen.

So the nurse had smiled and bustled over at Alkaid after breakfast, and said it was her turn to go to the greenhouse. In fact, it was all the ladies' turn at the greenhouse, and that people were heading there right now.

Which made Alkaid blanch. Like hell she was going to stand around potting plants for an hour or more. She didn't feel very up to standing on her feet in the first place, seeing as she was still kind of dizzy from last night's encounter. So she searched her mind for some lame excuse she could give to prevent her from going out there into the heat.

"Uhh," she started, trying to come up with some good bullshit. "I, uh.. don't feel good, so. If there's any chance that I could, you know, stay inside, I think that'd be much better for my constitution. A .. uh, nap, maybe?" Alkaid rubbed at her bandaged neck, trying to garner some form of sympathy from the stupid woman who she'd never stop thinking of as an NPC.

Alkaid was a terrible actress. She knew this. She couldn't even hide her true feelings in a video game, but somehow (joy of joys) the NPC took pity on her, pausing in the Sun Room. "All right, hon, you can take a nap here."

Heh. Score. Like she was told, she made her way over to one of the couches and sprawled out on it, feigning sleep until she was sure the nurse was gone to escort some other patient somewhere else. Then she hopped right back up, ripping the bandage from her neck. (The dark toothmarks would blend in with her tattoos, right? And she didn't want proof of last night's injury to be that noticeable.) Then she walked around a little, finally edging over to the bulletin board, hands on her hips.

What have we here?

Claire wasn't sure how gardening was a means of relaxation, but she didn't point this out to her nurse as she was escorted outside and towards the large glass structure. Inside, the air was warm and humid and she wrinkled her nose as she eyed her surroundings somewhat skeptically. This had always been more her mom's thing than hers, but still, at least there wasn't going to be anything popping out and trying to eat her here in daylight, so she'd take what she could get.

Edging away from her nurse as quickly as possible without looking suspicious, Claire moved to the far side of the greenhouse, wandering up and down the aisles of planted greenery. As long as she didn't get in trouble for not getting her hands dirty, she much preferred to watch and let her mind wander.

There wasn’t really much to this room as Sync stepped in, but it wasn’t like he was expecting much in the first place. Standing at the door, he quickly swept his fontech around the dark space to make sure nothing was hiding in the corners before he walked right on in. The cool tile floor came as a pleasant surprise for his bare feet as he made his way to the neat row of file cabinets.

The God-General bit back a groan as he tried to pull one open, only to realize that they were locked.

"Hey," He called out as he looked over his shoulder at Shion. "Can you bring that chair here again?"

The first thing the God-General noticed was the roughness that replaced the smooth tile beneath his feet, pressing the tip into the floor before sinking his sole into the carpet. The rest of his body followed soon after, fingertips pushing against the door until it slowly clicked shut. As calm as he may have appeared the outside his senses were on high alert, eying the room for any kind of movement.

His eyes had finally adjusted to the darkness, allowing him to see a majority of the obstacles that lined this new room. Sync stepped forward once, then twice, and then finally picked up his pace until he reached the set of doors that apparently led outside.

Sync knew well enough that the doors were locked, and these thoughts were only reinforced as he tried to open one to no avail.

He was close now.

Sync could hear footsteps from within the previous hall, signifying that there were at least a few people out and about. That meant it was a good thing he left as early as he did; he wasn’t in the mood to brush elbows with anyone else.

The God-General paid no more mind to what was behind him, instead focusing on what was ahead. Now that he was traversing in one the larger hallways he knew he had to keep his guard up since there was a greater chance of getting ambushed. Sync slowed his pace all up until he reached the doors that led to the Entry Room, giving one last glance behind him before testing the door.

Finding it unlocked, he slipped in without a sound.

Shion continued to move down the hall, her eyes peering around at every corner she could see. Sadly, she was yet to see these so called “monsters”, but she knew that could always happen later, too.

Hm, first things first. She had to at least get out of the female block. Then she’d be able to figure out exactly where she was planning on going.

And so, Shion continued down the hallway, humming a song as she went.

Shion had slept the remainder of dinner, the effects of the tranquilization slowly wearing off as she slipped deeper into unconsciousness. Over all, being tranquilized was much more pleasant than having your nails ripped off as a punishment, the teenager decided as she awoke to find all the lights off in her room.

Ah, so this was night.

Turning her head, she was surprised to find something hard against her head, and she instantly reached underneath the pillow and grabbed at the item that had caught her attention – a flashlight. “Lucky!”

Moving to stand, Shion reached out and opened the door, staring out at the dark hallway for a second before remembering the comments the sniveling blonde had told her. Monsters wandered around at night, take caution.

Bah.

Shion’s head turned to the side quickly, eyes catching on the chair that just so happened to be on her side of the room.

It would work.

Moving quickly, the teenager grabbed at the chair with one hand, testing to see how heavy it was. Perhaps some dragging was in order, but for now … she could carry it. She was a strong girl, after all! Hadn't she been able to carry all of those disgusting corpses all on her own? That was right! She could!

Hoisting it up, Shion cautiously moved out the door and down the hallway, chair in one hand, flashlight in the other.

For all the hype he heard up on the bulletin, Sync had to say he was somewhat disappointed with how dull these halls have been. Maybe these ‘monsters’ only attacked when there was less traffic around, but his guess was as good as anyone’s.

Regardless, even if he did keep to one side of the wall, the God-General was anything but impressed. He’d barely seen anyone, and the only person he did see was some guy limping around on crutches! How pathetic could they all possibly be?

He didn’t bother to hold back a snort, keeping straight until he disappeared around a corner.

The intercom clicked on and the Head Doctor spoke with his usual fervor.

"Good evening, patients and staff! I am pleased to announce that the arrival of nearly all of our new patients will conclude this shift. In addition, we have a very delicious dinner in store for you: carved Turkey with a side of mashed potatoes and steamed, seasoned vegetables. For drinks, we have our usual assortment available, and as a dessert included with your dinner, we will be serving a slice of warm apple pie with each meal.

"I trust that those of you enjoying the company of new roommates will give them a warm Landel's welcome, and I also hope that those of you who participated in therapy today were able to find a productive time with their doctors.

"That's all for now! Enjoy dinner, everyone!"

The intercom clicked off again.
