Okay... that was creepy, thought Sheena as she stared up at the intercom. She glanced around her room nervously, balled up pieces of discarded paper strewn all over the floor by her. The man sounded like a seriously screwed up Desian that liked to toy with people... like Kvar did. Shuddering, the guardian picked up the cards she'd made with an ink-stained hand and fanned them out.

Alright... not the greatest work she'd ever done, she had to admit, but only three of them felt a little off when she concentrated on them. A few smudges of ink shouldn't matter anyways. Fanning herself once, she then folded the cards back up and looked down at her inky hands. "Stupid pen. Why did it have to break so easily? I was just trying to figure out where the ink was, NOT get it all over me. I hope I don't have any on my face..."

If she did, she was certain Raine would point it out to her. As long as the half-elf didn't do that weird lick her thumb and wipe it off thing she'd seen her do to Genis more than enough times, Sheena would be fine. If not... well... she'd glare at Raine or something. Grabbing her flashlight and cards, Sheena lamented the lack of an obi as she left her room.

Now where was F18?

The whole not-bursting-into-flame thing was still a perk Angel could get used to. He ended up sitting just beneath a tree by a patch of sunlight, hoping maybe he'd go undisturbed just this once. The courtyard was more relaxing during the day, with its distinct lack of hyenas.

Journal on his lap, he plucked a blade of grass between his fingers. It was nice. He didn't think he'd ever just sat on the grass for no apparent reason before. Except for the couple of dates he'd ended up having with Buffy in the cemetery, but those always got interrupted by the undead.

The fact that he sort of counted those dates, anyway, probably said a lot.

Yuffie carefully tightened and tested the knot at the back of her head. The long strip of torn and folded bed sheet was a lousy replacement for her usual headband, but she could deal with it. For now, anyway.

Frowning, she dropped her hand to pick briefly at the grey material of her pants. It was so tempting to rip them, to modify them into shorts... The young ninja shook her head, blowing a raspberry at nothing in particular. Later, maybe, when she'd have a use for the extra material. Right now, she had better things to do.

Picking up the already turned-on the flashlight she'd left sitting on the desk, Yuffie checked the five pens she'd shoved in the waistband of her pants. They weren’t exactly her weapon of choice, but...

... Well, they'd have to do for now. Cloud had promised her those Hira shuriken, so it wasn't like she'd be relying on writing utensils for too long, anyway! And besides, no way was she gonna waste tonight sleeping, not like last night. The intercom and radio announcements had been totally weird, but weird was interesting- sounded to her like the Head Doctor was having a bit of trouble. And where there was trouble, there was the chance for an advantage.

Or maybe just a bit of fun. Whatever.

Yuffie span on heel, heading towards the exit. After one final glance over her shoulder at the bedroom, one last deep breath, one last moment to steel herself, she swung the door open and stepped outside.

Upon entering this hallway, he did slow his movements a little just to be more careful. He did know the way, but this was not a hallway he was used to traversing and that was reason enough to be more careful. The trip through it was quick enough though as he slipped into what was the only female block he was aware of. F3 wasn't far now.

If he didn't know better, he'd say that the intercom announcements were playing mind games tonight, more than usual.

Clark left his room apprehensive. Last night hadn't gone well; he'd probably nearly died from wounds that shouldn't have even been possible and, to make it worse, Alkaid and Badou and Claire had gotten hurt trying to help him. And what was with the intercom announcement? It sounded like Landels had gotten hacked and then there was something about the security system. Was it possible to leave? Or was it a glitch, something that could make the security system even more deadly? Clark didn't know, but he planned to find out.

Gripping his flashlight in one hand, he stepped outside.

"Good evening, patients and staff!" the Head Doctor said just as the intercom's usual jingle ended. Strangely, he seemed even more tense now than he had been throughout the day, though as he continued to speak, he seemed to get back into the usual swing of things. "I hope you all had very productive outdoor activities today and helpful therapy sessions to boot. Now, however, we must all begin to retire, and as always, our nurses will be bringing your dinner to your rooms shortly after your being escorted there. Tonight's meal includes a generous portion of delicious spaghetti with tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese (and meatballs if you choose), along with sides of hot garlic bread and fresh Caesar salad. For dessert, we will be serving slices of moist chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream."

The Head Doctor paused, and there was the sound of rustling and then muffled voices, as if the doctor had put his hand over the microphone and was clarifying something with someone--a female voice, probably Lydia. He took his hand off the mic and cleared his throat.

"Yes, that's all for now. I hope you all enjoy dinner, and remember, some of you tonight will be lucky enough to participate in our CM-US Experimental Therapy Trials, so look forward to that after the meal. Goodbye for now!"

The intercom clicked off.

By the time fourth shift came, Renamon was mentally tired. Even though she was able to somewhat sort her thoughts last shift, since Kaneyoshi had never shown, she was still a more somber fox than she usually was. As much as she didn't want to believe it, she was starting to think that she was looking for connections where there weren't any.

No. She couldn't think like that. She wouldn't allow herself those thoughts.

Per usual, she checked the Bulletin Board before allowing herself to be led away. She had spoken to her nurse for the first time since she arrived, merely asking her name. The nurse seemed overjoyed that she was responding to someone other than other patients, and told her that her name was Reiko Akiyama--don't you remember, dear?

"Of course. Thank you." She then went back to ignoring the staff.

Once at the recreational field, she did a few breathing exercises. One more meeting of the day, and then she would again try to shift through her information. Renamon rolled her neck and stretched her arms above her head. She wondered how this nightshift would go.

Bouncing lightly on her feet, she took a defensive stance, and started practicing her high-kicks. It seemed no matter where, or what, she was, she was still a warrior.

[Dairine time.]

Claire wasn't sure how gardening was a means of relaxation, but she didn't point this out to her nurse as she was escorted outside and towards the large glass structure. Inside, the air was warm and humid and she wrinkled her nose as she eyed her surroundings somewhat skeptically. This had always been more her mom's thing than hers, but still, at least there wasn't going to be anything popping out and trying to eat her here in daylight, so she'd take what she could get.

Edging away from her nurse as quickly as possible without looking suspicious, Claire moved to the far side of the greenhouse, wandering up and down the aisles of planted greenery. As long as she didn't get in trouble for not getting her hands dirty, she much preferred to watch and let her mind wander.

Renamon blinked, and suddenly she was laying flat in the bed she had originally woke up in. The timing was impeccable, accenting Orihime's explanation perfectly. She just hoped that she hadn't freaked the girl out with her little disappearing act. She quickly shifted out of bed, and grabbed the journal she had wrote notes in last night, and jotted down another page. No sooner did she finish did her ever-so-friendly nurse come to collect her. Renamon didn't respond to the nurse's excited talk of making friends and breakfast, and simply followed her, journal in hand.

She paused at the Sunroom to leave a message on the Bulletin Board to Toboe. Hopefully the wolf had simply gotten lost, and wasn't truly gone. On the other hand, maybe she should be hoping that the boy had found a way out, and a way home. No use overly worrying about it now.

She continued to the Cafeteria, only pausing to take a plain muffin and water. It seemed she was early. She sat at a table near the wall, scanning over her notes and waiting for her breakfast date.

Kenren was already getting ready when he heard the doors open. He chuckled softly at the ominous words from the Head Doctor, finding them more amusing than threatening now. In terms of causing fear, he wasn't exactly up there with Gyumaoh or the other demon kings. Admittedly, he had succeeded in trapping various gods and such in this place, and there were certain things that Kenren would enjoy taking out of his hide when the time came, but he was more entertained than anything else. Shame that he was in the minority.

He grabbed the katana out from beneath the bed and slipped the vegetable peeler into his pocket too, just for good measure. After a moment he remembered to pick up the radio too. If they were following clues, it made sense to have more than one in the group, just in case something untoward happened. He turned back to his roommate, giving him a reassuring smile. "Good luck tonight, especially with your friend. I hope everything goes okay with him." He felt kind of bad for the guy if he was so scared, being in a place like this. With that, he stepped out into the corridor, heading towards Adelheid's room.

"My, my, that paper work sure is a killer, isn't it?" The Head Doctor's voice came over the intercom, laughing jovially. "However, I missed you all so much that I decided to say hello before I once again descended into the depths of burea--... responsibility!"

The Head Doctor cleared his throat and continued with his usual announcement:

"Now, it's time for some creative fun in the Music Room! Play on your favorite instruments and perhaps form a band with your friends! Haha! I'm only joking, of course, but the thought is still there. Our patients who have been selected for special therapy sessions will be escorted to their doctors, as always, though... it seems Dr. House has gone missing. Hm. I'm sure things will rectify themselves shortly!

"In any case, we also have new patients being introduced this shift, so, as always, I want you to give them a warm Landel's welcome.

"That's all for now!"

The intercom clicked off.
