[OOC: Waiting for Kenren, I think...? Daddy!?!]

It was the second time she'd needed to be sedated since being dumped in this awful place. The fight hadn't even really been a fight either, just a refusal to move or do anything that the nurses wanted her to do after "Tyki" had left. It was just the adamant resistance that had gotten her injected and then carted off to whatever place the nurses decided would be best. Apparently some fresh air was thought to be best right now.

She was settled on the grass and given a ball, she didn't know what kind, and told to cheer up before being left alone. That's all she had wanted in the first place, to be left alone! Why did they have to drag her to this place for that?!

Her hands settled on top of the ball and she began rolled it back and forwards beneath her palms. The anger was still with her, but it was no longer flaring thanks to the drugs, so Rhode had nothing else to do than just sit there and wait for the drugs to wear off. Once they did, the poor ball would probably be suffering a much harsher action than being rolled back and forth.

"But that's because I know I'm not dealing with soldiers here," Roy continued to explain as they moved into the farthest hallway -- his room was at the very end.

"Most of the patients wouldn't be used to my usual severity, and certainly wouldn't respond to it very well. I have to be a bit more delicate." He wasn't used to working under such conditions, seeing how most of the people who ended up under his command were willing and ready to serve. (Fullmetal was the exception.) He had adapted well enough, however, and had tried as much as he could to use some of his authoritative nature.

He knew it didn't work at times, but at least he was making the effort.

"What I meant, though, was that I was curious about what mission you think you would be best at, so I know what assignments to give you. Whatever talents you have should be put to use, after all."

Farfarello was a little surprised to find the lobby empty when he came through the doors. They hadn't been the first off the buses, he knew that for certain, but no one else had made it inside? Pathetic. But also good, for Schwarz' purposes.

Leaning against a wall and keeping his senses alert for any trace of monsters, Farfarello waited for Schuldig and Crawford to catch up with him.

[Dropping down from Bus 3.]

Shana dropped into the darkness from the open window above, keeping her back to the carraige as she waited for her eyes to adjust to the pitch blackness surrounding her. It must have been a cloudy night, for she could make out no stars or moon above. Eerie sounds filled the night and she shivered, not liking the sound of it, nor the fact that she was out here alone with no idea of what could be lurking in the shadows.

Shadow was still trapped in the bus somewhere above and behind her, and she had no idea where Valyn and Keman were. Focusing her magic, she tried to reach out and feel for them, wondering if they'd felt her cast her magelight spell, wondering if they'd cast anything in return for her to find them. She had no desire to spend the night separated from them, especially since she hadn't been here long enough to know her way about the place, let alone the extent of dangers it could hold

White sneakers gleaming in contrast to the dusty floorboards, Dean approached the bar at a snail's pace, hopelessly immersed in his surroundings. It was a taste of something close to home. He was in his element.

And he loved it.

His face seemed to ache the instant he smiled his first genuine smile of the day. Previous shakiness in his bearing abandoned, he swiveled on a chair to allow his restless eyes the chance to roam the features of the tavern that really weren't as captivating as the hunter found them. His wry expression faded as he glanced disapprovingly at himself. These clothes made him look like some overgrown kid who'd taken a wrong turn on his way to the Nerd Convention.

There was, Naomi decided, some sort of cosmic irony in all of this. Not that she was trapped in a deranged and possibly other-worldly asylum with a man she'd idolized for years and a boy who was being investigated for - among other things - the murder of her fiance. No, at this point, those were perfectly normal occurrences. Rather it was the soft, pretty, feminine pink sweater dress she'd been stuffed into in the morning. A chance to wear normal clothes, and she looked like a soccer mom. The white blazer and white boots only made her look like a soccer mom who maybe hadn't given up gogo boots.

It was humiliating. Why couldn't she have jeans and a sweater? And sneakers? Something she would conceivably wear? Not this damned pink monstrosity. And her nurse kept saying how pretty she was.

She didn't care if she looked pretty.

Grumbling to herself, and taking it out on her muffin, Naomi was shoved onto an empty bus and told to 'sit tight'. Oh, she'd sit tight alright....

At least she was relatively certain L was alright. She'd spent the whole night with him, and other than falling on his ass, nothing had happened to him. And hopefully nothing would happen to him in town, either....

Zabuza knocked on the door roughly. He didn't bother calling through it.

If his boy was on the other side (and his boy better be on the other side) he would know the way that Zabuza knocked and open it for him.

Or get his roommate to open the door. Zabuza wasn't sure how much moving around Haku should do. He would find out soon enough.

Recluse stopped at the agreed upon meeting spot, scanning the halls for any sign of Marcus. Typical. Of course he'd be made to wait. He found a spot that was darker than most, hands clenching and unclenching as he waited, seething.

Recluse turned the corner into the cell block hallway, still internally ranting about Landel. He was used to being the one in control of people like that infuriating doctor. There was a whole recruitment program for 'Mad Scientists' in Arachnos.

The vast majority of them ended up being killed by their on projects. Often in quite amusing, bloody, agonizing ways. That one little thought made everything seem just a little bit better.

Recluse left his cell as soon as the doors unlocked, fighting the urge to ignore the necessity of stealth and simply stride down the hall. He was already angry, furious at the fact that he had to deal with Marcus now.

He had made the knives, and started the rust acid reaction again, building up more materials for thermite. He was also carrying the bleach and paint thinner, so he could start working with them once he got to the kitchen.

He sighed, shaking his head. The kitchen. Landel was pathetic. Like a petulant little child. He had a very, very good idea of where the hidden door was. If your little playthings hadn't been blocking my way all last night, I would have already found that door, you raving megalomaniac!

Nightshift had approached, and Barret was on that door as soon as the locked released. He'd discarded his empty plate for his flashlight and radio, taking to the hall with a swiftness. He made a note to listen to the Head Doctor this time.

Down...obviously meant to basement, and according to his insinuation, the entrance had to be a door located within the kitchen. That's where his group would head that night. Uncover the mysteries veiled before their eyes...

In the meantime, he had a small mission--take Cloud to the meeting. He didn't trust he wouldn't do something foolish on his own such as face his opponent alone. Barret would be there to make sure that didn't happen.

Although, he didn't need a room number to know where he was going, that much was true. The blood scent was strong, stronger than the average person's. And even if it wasn't, he was still competent enough to track it - a vampire's senses were superior, after all. They had no true weaknesses beyond a hunter's weaponry.

The tattoo stung him in rhythmic intervals, reminding of all the little things that made him doubt. Today along two people had called him weak, both children, both with their own visible injuries. And yet they'd both had the

Shut up, he spat in his own head, and kept moving through the shadows.

The only reason he hadn't outright refused Bella's request was that he had been planning to head in that direction all along. Where the humans went to the cafeteria for their food, Aidou went to the female cell block. It was the only place to find a good meal; that girl Claire had to be around somewhere.

The intercom gave its cheery jingle just before the Head Doctor's equally buoyant voice rang through the halls.

"Ah, and finally, our day is coming to a close! Rooms and roommates have been reassigned with care, though what great partnership can start without a good meal? Ah, yes, after the nurses escort all of our patients, new and old, back to their proper rooms, everyone will have the chance to enjoy a savory chicken pot pie, full of peas, carrots, potatoes, and of course, chicken. On the side, we'll have buttery corn on the cob and green beans, and to drink, you may choose from the regular slew of water, milk, or assorted juices, which your nurse will bring to you.

"I believe that's all for now! Phew, long day, huh? I know I'll be happy to get some sleep, and thank you to all our vigilant doctors and nurses, although Dr. House seems to have gone AWOL... Hmm... Well, in any case, have a good dinner, everyone!"

The intercom clicked off again as the nurses began organizing the patients for the small trek back to their rooms.

Just one more patient, and then Wilson would have a long weekend to spend looking over files and watching Spanish television. If he wasn't being forced to do work he wasn't comfortable with, he would have considered it a good deal.

Though it sounded like the patients had a special trip coming up on Saturday, and Sunday meant visitors, which meant that there would probably be a lot his patients would want to talk to him about come Tuesday -- or so he hoped. He didn't like pulling teeth, and yet it seemed like that was what he was usually doing with these patients. He probably should have expected as much.

The patient he would be seeing this afternoon was new to him, so he was doing his best to keep an open mind about Mr. Fortune... Or Zabuza, as the case may be.

He settled back in his chair. After a nice lunch, the temptation to take a small nap was rather strong--but he would be awake and alert the moment his patient walked through the door.

Recluse dropped down from the wall separating the courtyard from the rec field, landing with a small thump. He checked the area around him once more before setting off, heading for the door to the Cafeteria. That damn feeling was getting stronger again.

Almost there.

By now, Rukia was familiar with the way the patients' hallways were laid out. She headed straight to the end of the hallway, shining her flashlight on the door to M1 just to make sure she had the right place.

The hallways were eerily silent tonight; Rukia just hoped she was moving quickly, and that something more sinister wasn't going on. Passing by the first few hallways, Rukia turned right when she saw M10.

This corridor looked almost the same. Still quiet, though now he noticed more people about. At least that meant he hadn't run into any monsters. He ran along the hall until he saw the door that had caused him and Dr. Birkin so much trouble. From the day now, he knew that at the end of this hall was almost a lobby with the hall to the Sun Room and Cafeteria to the left. He didn't want to go there, so this was the end of the blocks. Right? No bathroom. He must have missed something.

Armand backtracked until he found another door that opened easily.

Armand spared a glance back over his shoulder at the hallway outside the bathrooms at the end of his own block but didn't see anyone so he pushed open the door (to his left instead he realized) into the larger corridor he remembered well from last night. There was a door immediately to his right. So far everything was still quiet. That made him nervous. He wanted to find Javert as soon as he could.

24 August 2007 @ 08:20 am
Armand didn't like the man's voice from the air. He sounded cruel, even when he was trying to sound nice during the day. Oh well, not that it mattered to the evil doctor if Armand liked him or not.

When the lights went out, Armand reluctantly put away his journal and pen in the desk, and grabbed a sweater and his flashlight. He slipped the sweater over his head as he entered the dark hallway. He'd run halfway down the corridor before he turned on his flashlight. There was a door to the right, he thought, at the end of the hall. He needed to get to the men's lavatory at the "end of the men's hallways." He knew of the one at the end of his block of rooms, but was there another?
