Nightshift 30: M1-10 Hallway
[from here]
Renji slowed a little as he headed up the hallway, sweeping the ceiling with his flashlight. So far, no giant spiders. He liked that. It wasn't that he had anything against spiders; he wasn't some pansy that was afraid of a little bug. Or a big one. He just hadn't liked the feeling of getting bitten and poisoned.
He went to the room almost at the end of the hallway - M2.

Re: Inside M2
He took the open door as an invitation and came inside, keeping an eye on Daemon. Once he was in the room, he pulled the sword from his improvised belt and laid it on one of the desks.

He took a while before setting out to finish sharpening the promised broadsword he had made, wrapping it up for transport and grabbing two knives and a sword for himself. Once set, he slipped out into the hallway, his eyes taking on a faint, blood red glow as they adapted to the wonderful darkness.

M10
As he was rifling through his drawers again, he noticed something strange. The Institute hadn't provided him with any black clothes, had it? Confused and still possibly drugged out, he drew the new garments from the drawer.
And grinned.
His old combat suit was in his hands, perfect and pristine and new. That was funny, because the last time he'd seen it, he'd been wearing it, and it was in no better condition than he'd been. He quickly shed his nondescript grey attire, though he still had to keep the hospital slippers. Once he was in the combat suit, he grinned. There, he felt like himself again.
There was a weight in his pocket. Hoping against hope that it was something useful, he fumbled with it for a second and pulled it out.
What the hell is a GoldenEye key doing in my pocket?!
No, no. If he thought about it too hard he'd bust something in his skull. He picked up the makeshift bag and walked out the door, the key in his other hand as he wondered what it might be doing there, and why it had remained in his pocket, and why he even had his clothes, for that matter.

M55 was his destination. Zuko remembered the way, but he would want to obtain a map at some point in the near future...

He would cross that bridge when he came to it, though. For the moment, he needed to focus on his Arts and Crafts task. He was excited that he was going to be working with Rena again - he hadn't had the chance to see her after that last time on the Recreational Field.
The intercom announcement was disconcerting, especially when the Head Doctor announced that he had killed the radio man so nonchalantly. Did he really mean that?! Sora didn't know much about either man, but after everything Mr. Landel had done to them, this wasn't beyond his ability.
His roommate left without a word and Sora had to hold back a sigh. He felt like he had bad luck with it came to roommates, and was starting to wonder if it was something he was doing wrong. As an only child, he had never had to learn "roommate etiquette" or anything like that, so there was a chance he was offending the people who shared M7 with him without even realizing it.
He would just have to try and patch things up later. Grabbing his flashlight, Sora left his room and started down the hall.

He stood silent by his door, drawing a quick square on the notebook - looking back at the number nailed to the door - and sketching a 5 on it. He didn't want to forget what room he was in again and cause further hassle.
With the beginning of his makeshift map started, Ion drew a long line, drawing boxes around the one labled five. One through ten. The first hallway. A good start!
Once past the room labled M10, he drew 3 more rows of squares, as well as the block's bathroom.
His block's sketch done, the Fon Master started running, not wanting to keep Nia or Anise waiting.

Knives' head was still hazy from the drugs that they had given him at dinner, but at least his irritation on Monzenrath faded as the two of them were pulled apart. He felt... strange as he thought back on how heavily he had lost control. It was embarrassing.
He was quiet for a while, mostly letting himself think over his options for the night. Finally, he looked at his roommate and said the first thing he cared to say that night.
"You're going out," he pointed out. It was redundant but he said it only to establish the fact. "I am going with you." The second statement wasn't a request, but his tone was no where near as demanding as it would have been before. "It would be foolish for me to go alone when I know little to nothing about this place and you are the only competent human I've encountered today."
Re: M1
On the other hand, if Landel had seen him as such a threat that he'd been forced to murder him, then perhaps he had been trying to help them in his own way. Either the deed had been done or it hadn't, and Roy knew that he had no control over it, which meant that dwelling on it would be pointless. He was curious about the girl he had met at dinner, and perhaps a little dubious, but she had seemed sincere enough. The extra help was definitely needed, even if it meant handing over some of the spotlight.
He hadn't been expecting for Knives to speak up, so he was a little surprised as a result. The fact that he spoke without question seemed presumptuous - Roy didn't have to take him with, after all. But he knew that it wouldn't sit right with him if he left his roommate to wander around on his own.
"You have no one else to go with?" he asked carefully. "There are a lot of patients who wander around looking for others to spend the night with." Still, if Knives insisted, then he would have no choice but to let him tag along.
Re: M1
"Would you prefer that I wander off on my own, weakened as I am, to face the unknown?" He knew that was a little dramatic, but Roy seemed like the type of person who considered himself to be a 'good' person and 'good' people were at least predictable. That was the reason Knives had known how to get under Vash's skin. "At least for tonight, I believe it would be smartest for me to stay with you. I am able to fight, and I don't expect you to babysit me." Knives actually would have been insulted if that was what Roy thought he was looking for. "I need a guide and you might be able to use the extra pair of eyes and hands."
Re: M1
On the other hand, he may have just happened to be unlucky enough to run into very insufferable people.
"Very well. I'm planning to meet with a man who's going to show me how to get to the basement. He isn't the most pleasant of people, so there's your fair warning. We need to wait for another patient to show up so I can make a weapon for him, though." Hopefully Hisoka wouldn't keep them waiting too long -- he wasn't sure how long Kimbley would wait for them. Then again, he would probably wait for a pretty long time if it meant he got to torment him eventually.

The Ditching of the Hisoka
Outside M6
Damnit, it didn't mean Hughes wanted him dead. And not like that. He hung his head, offering a moment of silence for the guy, before securing his knives about his person and stepping into the hall to wait for Kadaj.
Re: Outside M6
Glaring at nothing in particular, he retrieved his gladius and his flashlight and headed outside, head bowed slightly in thought. What to do, what to do... and wasn't he supposed to be following the radio's clues tonight, to? Well, wasn't this going to be a waste of time.
He spotted Hughes quickly enough (their rooms were right next to one another, after all), and after taking a moment to strap his gladius in place, he walked over to him. "Seems like Roy shouldn't have bothered setting us up. Still determined to keep an eye on me, or are you going to give up now?"
Re: Outside M6
"So where've you been so far? Maybe we can just see about poking around the places neither one of us have made it to. Could find something useful."
Re: Outside M6
Not even glancing at the map, he said, "I've explored most of the first floor, but very little of the second. I was going to with my brother-- Yazoo, not the other ones-- but he disappeared. What about you?" Hughes had likely explored more than him as part of his Cooking Group duties, but Kadaj didn't know for sure. He really should have paid more attention to others before now.

He glanced at the room numbers as he made his way down the hall, then turned the corner and continued towards the door.

Whatever it was, it had been smothering her, coating her in a thick something, and she'd needed to come up for air. Her mind was too fuzzy, thick with fog and sludge, to even think logically about what had been seen. In fact it hardly registered as River slipped out of the room and down the hallway, quick as could be. With eyes wide and flashlight to light her way, Alice continued through the maze and into Wonderland.

Renji slipped out into the hall. Slowly, he began to make his way toward the far end. For this little bit, he decided, he would take his time. But at least he was going in the right direction.

It was rather fortunate the same people he wanted to see were clumped together a lot of the time. Made things easier.
Having not wanted to interrupt M2's little gathering, despite knowing who was already there, the doll had simply left his room, only to see River wander past. A neatly folded piece of paper was clutched in his hand--on one side, the outline of what he'd been able to see and lay out in his mind's eye when he'd tried to map the basement, and on the other side, extremely detailed descriptions of the rooms themselves. If there was one thing Ojou valued in her servant, it was his skill in detail. He didn't miss much when it came to places.
So when Abarai Renji came down the corridor, Ren looked up from where he'd been leaning against the wall. "Abarai-san," he greeted in low tones, not really expecting to surprise the man, not really.
