Nightshift 30: M1-10 Hallway
[from here]
Renji slowed a little as he headed up the hallway, sweeping the ceiling with his flashlight. So far, no giant spiders. He liked that. It wasn't that he had anything against spiders; he wasn't some pansy that was afraid of a little bug. Or a big one. He just hadn't liked the feeling of getting bitten and poisoned.
He went to the room almost at the end of the hallway - M2.

Re: Inside M2
Of course, with their powers severely limited...
Lucivar coughed as he sought to get himself under control once more. He turned to River who certainly seemed distressed about the revelation. "Lady, they are far too clothed to be involved in anything other then a mere kiss. I think it is safe to say that we've interrupted before either of them engaged in any sort of intercourse. Their innocence is still intact. At least, as far as I know."
Re: Inside M2
He ran out of things to say. So he kicked over the desk.
Re: Inside M2
"The desk never did anything to you."
Re: Inside M2
Re: Inside M2
He looked over at the overturned desk and back up at Renji, smiling. "Making a mess isn't going to help your case," he said. "You're only proving the lady's point."
Re: Inside M2
He was lucky enough to not hit his head on anything on his way down, but it didn't change the fact that his ears were ringing and for the moment his vision had gone dark.
Re: Inside M2
"I told you you shouldn't have healed me. Lucivar, help me get him on the bed, would you?" Daemon grumbled, torn between amusement and exasperation as he staggered under the other man's weight, his own strength not what it normally was.
Re: Inside M2
At least no one was laughing anymore. River didn't even notice as her lower lip stuck out in the same pout she'd given Lucivar earlier.
Re: Inside M2
"Ow," Lucivar said, something bumping hard against his leg. "What-"
He pulled out a large weapon wrapped in a sheet and gave Daemon a curious look. "Where did he get this? Do you know?"
Re: Inside M2
He leaned over the Shinigami worriedly, automatically watching for the rise and fall of his chest to make sure he was alright.
Re: Inside M2
Re: Inside M2
Renji's pulse seemed even and measured, and Daemon reached out to shake the Shinigami's shoulder, seeing if he could wake him. With his back turned, he never saw River creep for the door as she dashed from beneath the desk.
"Renji?" he called, quietly, trying to rouse the redhead.
Re: Inside M2
His eyes flew open; one hand shot out to grab Lucivar's wrist; with the other, he took a swing at the obvious target; Daemon.
Re: Inside M2
Re: Inside M2
"Enough, Lucivar, let him go. Let his weapon go. You'd react the same if abruptly awakened." His voice was quiet, but there was an edge beneath the words, his golden gaze sharp as it flicked from the redhead and his brother.
Re: Inside M2
Besides, he was pretty sure he could manage a flashstep and do something before he blacked out again. That made the sword at his throat much less worrying.
Re: Inside M2
Re: Inside M2
An intent golden gaze turned back to Renji. "How are you feeling? Are you alright?"
Re: Inside M2
He managed to not glare or even snarl at Daemon, though he was tempted. "I'm fine," he said. He was pretty sure this entirely situation couldn't get any more stupid.
And speaking of that, he didn't really want to be in such an inferior position any more. He started to sit up, though cautiously since he was still feeling a bit... odd.
Re: Inside M2
Re: Inside M2
Speaking of which...
Daemon turned, his gaze going to the now-abandoned desk, looking surprised. "Where's River?"
Re: Inside M2
He did give Daemon a rather toothy grin, though. "Dunno. Can't really grow up if you died as a kid."
So far sitting had worked alright. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and leaned over to grab the sword. He made a displeased noise as he inspected the careless way Lucivar had wrapped it back up. He undid the sheets and wrapped it up again, this time to his satisfaction.
"Wasn't my turn to watch her," he said, sounding peeved again. He loved the kid, he really did, but she'd certainly kicked this mess into being. Still, he stopped for a moment, bowing his head to get at least a sense of the threads, tracing the direction she'd gone. "She's fine," he said. "Might want to leave her alone. Sure seems to be in a mood." The effort made his hand start pounding again, and he reached up an slightly unsteady hand to pinch off the inevitable nosebleed.
Re: Inside M2
Still, he worried that she would run into trouble on her own. Even women who could protect themselves still were in danger of being hurt.
Re: Inside M2
Although he was rather worried about this 'mood' Renji said she was in. That was never a good thing when it came to unpredictable females.
Re: Inside M2
"Yeah," he said, in agreement with Daemon over River's ability to take care of herself. "Only problem she's ever had was Ichimaru. And that wasn't anything anyone could've fought right against."
He took a couple of deep breaths and stood. His head hurt, but he was mostly steady, though he still had the napkin to his nose. "I need to get to taichou. I'm already late."
