Nightshift 30: M1-10 Hallway

[from here]
Renji slowed a little as he headed up the hallway, sweeping the ceiling with his flashlight. So far, no giant spiders. He liked that. It wasn't that he had anything against spiders; he wasn't some pansy that was afraid of a little bug. Or a big one. He just hadn't liked the feeling of getting bitten and poisoned.

He went to the room almost at the end of the hallway - M2.

"There'll be monsters aplenty," Daemon snorted, shaking his head. "Come on then. Although we should temporarily equip ourselves with something for the time being." He didn't want to mention that his magic wasn't working either, just yet. "Think you can manage breaking off the legs of the desk or the chair?"

"Leave it to me," Lucivar said, bending down and picking up the fallen chair. It was sturdy but he was sure a few violent wacks against the wall should have it shattered to pieces. "I'd watch out for flying wood chips, however. I'd hate to hit you with the chair again."

"Once was more than enough," Daemon replied dryly, taking a step back to a safe distance away to let Lucivar take his few whacks.

It took a few tries but Lucivar was able to shatter the chair into pieces large enough to use as small clubs. "It's not much," he said, handing one of the legs over to Daemon. "But it will do for now. It's a shame there's nothing we can use for a blade."

"If we can get to the basement and find this armory of Renji's, we'll be better off," Daemon replied, taking the makeshift club and testing its weight. Satisfied, he motioned for Lucivar to follow him. "Come on, we can get to the outside door and come back in through the Courtyard. I don't think I'm ready to face whatever might be lurking in the Sunroom tonight."
