Day 27: Sun Room (4th Shift)

Momo's mind was turning over all the possibilities surrounding this "field trip" to the surrounding town when she settled down in the corner of the Sun Room away from the Arts & Crafts room. She curled her legs underneath her as she waited for Shouko-san to find her. The shinigami had no idea what she looked like, so she kept an eye on all those entering the room.

It was still very cold, or at least she was cold, and the momentary thought of getting her coat from her own room passed through her mind amidst the field trip thoughts. She pushed it away and decided to deal with it being as cold as it was since she'd already been late to one meeting today and didn't want to start making it a habit.

As she waited, she pondered the next day's possibilities. Maybe, just maybe, once away from the institute the shinigami will have access to their full reiatsu. And if not, maybe they'll have a better idea of how they are being limited so much. Maybe Aizen would be able to find her then. He'd save her... right? Right?

So not just Rinali, but now Kanda was here too? It was good that they could work as a team now, but what of the people back home? Were they still doing alright? Had anyone managed to find Cross? He would be a big help if they could actually find him. Then again, maybe he was stuck here too. Allen repressed a shudder. He had no desire to meet up with that man anytime soon.

He'd had a long day, honestly, after dealing with Rhode and then a surprise visit from Rinali. Though the message board hadn't helped. Rhode was all riled up now, he was sure, and had found more than a few other strange people that shared her tastes. He couldn't say it made him very happy, but there wasn't a whole lot he could do about it.

He found a seat, however, and waited for the others to arrive.

[a short hello from alu and then meeting with the Exorcists]

[identity profile] madvampireking.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The scant bits of scent in the notes were all that he could use to track this 'Allen' down, but at least his intended prey wasn't trying to hide. It was slightly difficult at first, but the vampire managed to pin down the other's location. He entered the sun room, pausing at some point near the doors to scent the air.

Aha.

Smirking, he made his way over to where Allen was seated. This was going to be fun.

Dean slowed pace toward the Sun Room as Landel began babbling on about some 'field trip'. He just snorted derisively, shaking his head as he entered the section of the Institute he was probably most familiar with.

Oh, yes, indeed, and as I'll be personally chaperoning one of the buses into town, I do hope to meet some of you in person and become familiar with the faces that –

"Become familiar with your face. Son-of-a-bitch..."

He basically threw himself on the closest couch, positioning a pillow under his head before lying back and sighing heavily. He couldn't believe he was still freakin' here. So tedious. What he wouldn't give for a bit of entertainment, preferably of the female variety. Well, maybe he'd keep an eye out for a beauty or two, or three, while he was busy being bored out of his mind. Nothing else to distract him, save for the bunch of crap strengthening his poise on the situation, like rejuvenated thoughts on tactics, Sam, Diva, and...

He linked his fingers flat over his abdomen, head tilted to enable him a good shot of one doorway; and for anyone who walked through it to catch the eyes of a man who was clearly fed up with this gig.

Whatever. Dean crossed his arms, feeling exceptionally petulant this afternoon. His eyelids fell when hot flashes of anxiety threatened to invade the calm he'd established.

Don't think about it. Don't.

[identity profile] adorkabledragon.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Keman was a lot less concerned about the field trip than Dean was, probably because he only recognized half of the words that the Head Doctor had said. What were "buses?"

And how was he getting his voice to project like that in the first place? It was a mystery.

At any rate, his nurse seemed hellbent on keeping him away from the library ("girls don't like nerdy boys!"), so he found himself in the Sun Room yet again. At least he'd be able to find Shana and Valyn when they came in.

The dragon took a position on a couch with a pretty clear view of the door, near a human male who looked heartily sick of the whole situation. Keman couldn't blame him, really.

"Rough day?" he asked politely.

Libraries were boring. The Sun Room, at least, had couches.

Naruto spent the day oversleeping, which his nurse once again scolded him for. He groggily and begrudgingly obeyed when she finally ushered him out into the last evening shift, but only because he was meeting with a friend, not because she had any authority over him. When he explained this to her, crudely, the only answer he received was to have his hair ruffled. Naruto envisioned being able to break her face without getting thrown into Solitary; it was a nice daydream.

The Sun Room was practically empty when he arrived -- no sign of Usagi-chan yet or her friend, whom Naruto imagined would look very smart (being the smartest person in the world, as described to him via bulletin board) and be easy to find because of it. With a loud plop he deposited himself onto the nearest couch, comfortably laying back with his arms behind his head and watching the windows up in the ceiling.

In a minute, he was dozing off and lightly snoring. Within two minutes, a trail of drool escaped from the corner of his open mouth as he shifted noisily onto his stomach and half buried his face into the armrest, limbs in disarray.

[identity profile] moon-brained.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
After leaving Ami Usagi was awake and full of enough food to start thinking like a normal human being. Waking up to find her friend still in the institute had been a relief even though it still made her feel guilty to think that way. Having her power work had given her hope, but the more she thought about it the more its weakness worried her. It only continued to prove that she couldn't handle the situation on her own, and that the others needed to put themselves in danger for her as usual. It didn't help that Usagi's thoughts kept drifting back to Mamoru as she was led to the Sun Room. He was the one she wanted the most, not to save her, but to say the right thing and comfort her.

Usagi spotted Naruto easily, there were very few people in the Sun Room yet. In sleep he reminded her of her little brother Shingo-- she of course never slept in such an undignified manner.

"Naruto-kun~" she said loudly in his ear, not sure how much of a heavy sleeper he was but more than ready to start violently shaking him if she had to.

Field trip? That sounded like hell from a security standpoint. Good. But if things went well tonight, Riddick wouldn't have to worry about any of that.

The Furyan ignored the selection of furniture and found a spot by the wall near the arts and crafts room. He sat on the floor with his back to the vertical surface, left leg extended into the room and right arm propped up on the other knee. Haku was right, this place had some way of accelerating natural healing. But the killer still didn't feel nearly as well as he'd like. He regretted again the actions he'd taken last night that had led to broken ribs. And other things.

Speaking of regrets, he noted the patient he'd fought with earlier enter the library. Riddick thought nothing of the actual fight... only that he'd underestimated the effect of the sedatives that had followed promptly. At least Haku had helped him fight most of that garbage off.

[identity profile] plaguedred.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Krauser was moving to just browse the selection, get an idea of who'd donated the books and whether or not there were any of those metal things that stopped books from sliding around.

He'd bet a broken one could hold an edge.

Problem: someone's leg in the way. (And an attached patient, too.) He stopped for a moment, running an initial assessment. Hurt, and fearless.

The second one was kind of boring, but hey, it was worth meeting his fellow prisoners. "Night shift gotten more interesting?"

Takaya was starting to feel a bit ... worried. That was the only way he could describe it, much as he hated feeling 'worried' over someone like Naoe.

Still, the fact remained that he still hadn't seen the asshole and that lunch had passed without seeing him or without him hovering behind his shoulder.

Now, he was sitting in the Sun Room, frowning in thought while sitting in a chair a bit removed from others.

Where the fuck was he?

[identity profile] arc-wrench.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
HK was irritated after having to deal with that meatbag all through lunch. Usually it was more amusing than it had been, but what with his lungs being so very unhelpful, he could hardly get out a proper rant.

And these burns were strange to see on his skin. The branching fractal patterns of electrical damage almost looked like some sort of natural coloration on a meatbag, if it wasn't for the fact that touching them hurt.

But HK was excited about the idea of harassing meatbags outside of the facility tomorrow. Maybe the violent sort of harassment. Especially if he found where the meatbag in charge of all of this was.

MOMO was feeling a lot better than she had all day as she was led into the Sun Room. Though she would've normally chosen the library, the Sun Room sounded more appealing at the moment. Or at least as appealing as anything could sound in this place.

As soon as she caught sight of a familiar-looking man, however, she stopped in her tracks. It wasn't until then that she remembered she had promised to meet him following breakfast, and the realian closed her eyes, murmuring something along the lines of "I can't believe I forgot" to herself before she hastily made her way towards him.

"Ah, hi there!" MOMO greeted, managing a smile. She was feeling better having talked to Ami and Sora, but this man seemed more intimitading than either of them. "I'm, uh... I'm sorry about missing you earlier. I believe we, um... spoke over the message board this morning..? I'm MOMO."

[Waiting unknowingly for Yuber]

He'd poked his head in the library for a moment, but had quickly decided on the Sun Room again after seeing the library was full of fiction. Mark wasn't really in the mood for entertainment at the moment, he needed information.

So instead he parked himself in front of the bulletin board again and started taking more notes. There were so many people and names that it was becoming a jumble, but it wasn't quite enough that he could consider himself buried in information. Still, it reminded him of being in the bowels of ImpSec. The main difference was that his legs were starting to hurt a bit from standing. The messages tended to be posted so frequently and by such a variety of people that he'd given up on trying to nose forward and see who was writing what--besides that, he had the distinct feeling it would be considered bad manners around here.

The best he could hope for was to catch some of the strike-outs before they became such... and that was also beyond reach in some cases, as he swore the board had somehow kept busy despite lunch and was willing to bet that things had been posted and later removed or covered. People here were pretty secretive.

He should get around to checking for people he knew, just to be sure, after reading about some creature that imitated forms. If this were really an insane asylum (which had an ultra-retroactive theme because of style?) and the people around him were all posting their insanity, it was the biggest case of mass hallucination he'd ever heard of. Even the really crazy ones ("Who likes blood?") were recognizably crazy in ways unrelated to the general consensus by the population on night monsters, kidnapping, alternate worlds...

At least the staff was nice enough to give patients notebooks.

[identity profile] face-of-chaos.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
As the announcement clicked off and the head doctor’s voice disappeared, Yuber found a smirk curving on his lips at the information given to them. 'Dear Mr Landel was going to join them on this ‘fieldtrip’ planned’. The knight wondered to himself as he made his way into the Sun Room. Knowing that the head doctor would be out of hiding brought about an interesting concept, and gave Yuber the desire of seek him out and have a chat with the dear doctor.

The library was his destination for this particular shift, but with the knowledge of just who would be accompanying them tomorrow, Yuber decided it best to see if Logan had left him any form of message first. Ignoring everyone else within the room, his movements were smooth and silent as the knight sauntered over to the bulletin board.

There already seemed to be another patient viewing the board. They were a rather short human, and Yuber’s mere presence towered over them as he stood beside the slightly rounded patient. After a quick glance over the other man, Yuber’s attention flickered over towards the many notes posted on the flat surface before he found nothing of relevance to him. It was a long shot yes, but he had to have at least checked.

Snorting softly at the little warriors lack of communication, Yuber reached over and took a pen before writing a short note (http://community.livejournal.com/damned_bulletin/120290.html) and sticking it to the board. If he heard anything or not was of no concern; he would continue on with his work regardless.

Taking a step back from the board, Yuber’s gaze fell down to regard the short human beside him as he murmured, “You’re either interested in the barrage of notes on the board or still considering writing something for yourself hmm?”

idolism: (touch on my heart)

[personal profile] idolism 2007-09-29 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wai, more breakdowns with Ritsuka? LOLOL.]

Field trips? He almost wished he hadn't heard that. It was a taunt, almost, a taunt from the ringleader to his circle animals - who would jump through a flaming hoop and try to kill him while outside these walls? But it was also a perfect chance... if he had been smart enough to avoid last night's injury, perhaps he would have been able to manipulate such an opportunity.

As it was, it cost a great deal of effort just to think about the situation rationally. Sitting gingerly on the edge of a couch, he rubbed both his hands across his face, creating a pocket of darkness to hide his expression. Aidou didn't care how it looked; he just need a moment. The daytime had been draining, more so than it had any right to be. And every time he let his mind slip, he thought of something else, and every time he closed his eyes, he saw something else...

The vampire sighed into his hands. 'Crap' was such a flexible word. He would never, ever speak it aloud, but it aptly described how he was feeling. Probably how he looked too.

And everything else about his existence in the last twelve hours.

[identity profile] forgot-it-all.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 01:06 am (UTC)(link)

Ritsuka's nurse was talking a mile a minute about the field trip and how he'd be able to buy toys and make new friends and -- after that, Ritsuka stopped listening to her. He made a quick stop by the library and grabbed the first book off the shelf he could, then asked to be taken to the Sun Room. He liked to read where it was warm was his only excuse.

He was about to sit somewhere solitary when he saw him, head in his hands, looking like someone had shot his puppy. As soon as his nurse wandered away, Ritsuka gathered his courage and walked over. Despite what being near Aidou right now did to him, they needed to talk. Max's conversation had been rather enlightening, albeit frightening, and Ritsuka felt like he should talk to Aidou about it seeing as he had been involved. That creature wasn't Seimei and Aidou had saved him from death. The memory of the red eyes and the hand flying back at his face were enough to make him pause, but he needed to do this now or never.

Dropping down onto the couch next to Aidou, Ritsuka opened his book - The Divine Comedy, apparently - and said, "Morning. Looks like you've had a rough one."

Hanyuu really didn't want to leave Mion after lunch. Although having to watch her words around the other girl was a little difficult, she'd gladly continue to do so if it meant she could stay with someone she actually knew. But, it didn't seem she had much choice in the matter, and she found herself being shuffled off by that nurse again.

Hanyuu took a look around the room, taking immediate notice that there were only a few others at the moment. She was actually grateful for that, since the crowded cafeteria had been rather unsettling. There didn't appear to be anyone she knew there, however, so the girl climbed onto one of the couches and curled up near one of the ends.

It was easier to keep her attention on the door that way, although it seemed she had forgotten some things about the physical world. Namely, she had forgotten how easy it was to fall asleep when you were warm and comfortable.

Hanyuu tried to keep her eyes open by reminding herself she needed to keep an eye out for anyone she knew. She really needed to think more about those monsters Mion had mentioned too, even if the idea was a frightening one. But, despite herself, her thoughts kept drifting to how warm the room was and how comfortable the couch was, and it wasn't long before the former spirit was dozing off, her head resting on the armrest.

Decisions, decisions. He hadn't seen Lord Hellmaster in here, which meant he was in the library. Well, Zelgadis seemed to be repelled by Xelloss, and that was a factor to consider. Were he to stay in the library, it might keep the ex-chimera at bay, but he also might make the connection more easily if he spied a particular 'child' in proximity to Xelloss.

Xelloss settled for a chair fairly near the library door, and looked about brightly as though expecting someone.

Lunch, midday meal, this time something completely else. Seishirou found himself a bit confused after. In no particular desire to think about it, he let the crowd take him out of the cafeteria. It was possible to line up for library but he lacked the interest towards books right now. Perhaps he could sit down at Sun room for a moment and just relax.

Observing the various couches and tables, he spotted Xelloss and with a lingering smile decided to approach the man with unhurried steps.

[Um, waiting for Peogay I guess. >:O]

Jade was grateful to be blessed with a quiet lunch, taking the opportunity to organize his thoughts and file them as neatly as possible in their own respectable categories. Unlike a certain ignorant God-General, the Colonel found the subject of human experimentation to be a horrifically fascinating one, but that also meant that he had to be cautious for the others. After all, he was the only one that had any bit of common sense.

As tempted as he was to reclaim his spot in front of the bulletin board, he figured his Majesty would rather lollygag around than do any sensible amount of work. This easily included the Library, but he made note to take a look once he was able. In the meantime, Jade chose to situate himself on one of the couches, folding his hands over his lap and glanced around the room.

The faces of his fellow patients were becoming all too familiar, and the brunet managed to catch his brash roommate looking as banged up as he expected him to be. According to yesterday's events, they'll be returning back to their respected rooms after this shift, which left Jade absolutely brimming with excitement for the man's company again.

[identity profile] rappigs.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Muscular, tanned arms slid their way across the couch around Jade's shoulders, marred only by old bandages over one arm, and a probably all-too-familiar weight - Peony's head, blond and beautiful - pressed against the side of the colonel's. Peony was bending over the couch to embrace his best friend from behind. The creepiest way, of course, and the most difficult for Jade to get out from.

It was just that after spending some time with Rika, the embodiment of all that was good, he needed some pure evil to balance him out. Peony was all about balance. Especially when it involved a girl on each arm, yeah~!

But uncute Jade would have to do in a pinch. He looked enough like a girl anyway.

"Pretty sure it's time for your daily report," Peony murmured breathily into his best friend's ear, then unceremoniously withdrew his arms and anchored a hand on the back side of the couch, launching the rest of his body over it and landing with an oomph next to Jade, and that unmistakable grin.

The Sun Room, Naomi reminded herself, as one of those irritatingly close-mouthed nurses escorted her away from lunch. She had more or less enjoyed her meal, taking a small pause from the insanity to speak of simple, inane things. Now it was time to get to work.

L was counting on her.

She scanned the room and spotted a young woman - very young as far as she was concerned - that matched the description of Hinamori. She approached slowly.

"Hinamori-san?" she asked, in case she was mistaken.

Naoya let out a wide yawn as he was escorted to the Sun Room. His brain was still a bit fuzzy, but the extra hour to sleep was just what he needed to regain the energy that he lost during Arts and Crafts. But had his mind been fooling him...? Had he been so out of it that he had imagined...?

As much as he wanted to, he was almost afraid to close his eyes and try to seek out his brother. If lunch was all just something he dreamed up and he did try to reach his brother now... It would hurt. It would hurt worse than knowing his brother being here was dreamed up and Naoya wasn't sure if he could deal with that right now. The young man sighed and stretched a moment before sitting himself down on an empty couch.

[identity profile] thecoming-storm.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
As much as the nurses tried to encourage Naoto to 'leave your brother alone, why don't we take you to the Library where you can read a nice book?' the dark-haired man was having None Of It. His brother was hurt and vulnerable and here, the nurse's suggestion was duly ignored and he followed Naoya to the Sun Room, thinking about what that ninja girl had said as he went.

When he entered the Sun Room, the nurses tried once again to steer him away from Naoya, he shrugged them off and went to join his little brother, glaring at the nurses once he sat down.

Given what had happened on the board, Sephiroth was entirely unconcerned. Little things like parts of himself raging and pouting tended to go ignored in his view of the world. That part of himself would get in line eventually, even if it did take some time. He never had given in easily.

Moving past the cockroach humans, he stopped in front of one of the windows. Blind to the view outside, his focus settled on the difficulties of being imprisoned here. That in itself was a new experience. Never before had he been forced to remain anywhere he didn't wish to unless one counted the Lifestream. Time was... different there though. One didn't feel the passage of hours, seconds, or years. Perhaps returning there was the only way to escape this place.

Interesting thought that.

As much as spending time sitting down with a book seemed nice, Cloud decided that the Sun Room was again more for his needs. He hoped to find Barret so that he could continue to formulate plans, but if worst came to worst, he could get Kadaj angry with him again. At least he tried not to upset the remnant too much.

Plus, he had to check the board for posting. It was increasingly tedious and losing its interest. He was on day two and already seeing how someone would go mental here. He was not allowed to even practice katas or else the nurses would sedate him for violence. He itched for a little training, and he had only just arrived.

Walking over to a couch, he flopped down and actually took notice to people in the room with. He had not entirely noticed the normal dull aching that he associated with Sephiroth, so he was a little perturbed to find the ex-General standing by a window nearby. So much for hunting…

Rising to his feet, he approached silently, keeping as much as possible to whatever blind-spot Sephiroth might have – probably none. He reached out and thrust a finger against the other man’s spine. “You just might be losing your touch,” he murmured softly.

Sanji didn't know how he'd come to be separated from the rest of the crew, but suddenly he was being led into the sun room. His nurse was telling him he looked 'a bit peaky' and that he should stay away from 'those odd people' he'd sat with at lunch.

He wasn't pleased with his crew being referred to that way (whether it was true or not) and he didn't think he was feeling off, but he didn't argue as he was motioned over to a sofa and handed a glass of water. He just wished that man would stop smiling at him like that. It was disconcerting.

He surprised himself by giving a short cough, and took a sip from the offered glass. He really just needed a cigarette. Many things could be forgiven as long as he was allowed that.

That talk Nami'd had at lunch had made little to no sense. Her hands seemed like they would be glued to her hips for the entirety of the evening and possibly the night. None of this made logical sense, least of all monsters in the halls. And the possibility that they weren't on their own world seemed to be more and more real.

And why couldn't she get any straight answers on what was up with Sky Island? They obviously weren't on it, but Nami very clearly remembered the wind and rain beating her face as they had approached the other side of the clouds.

This just wasn't fulfilling! There were too many questions that had no answers.

Luckily, the navigator spotted a lanky figure alone in the room Nami had been let off. ...Oh really? So she wasn't the only one here. Ohoho, she would get the answers she needed. And just when her exasperation was at its peak, too..

"Sanji-kun," came a familiar hiss from behind the blond.

[waiting for Reno]

As soon as she entered the Sun Room, Elena flopped down on a couch and closed her eyes. God, this was tiring. Dean was sitting nearby, looking like the main character in some Ancient tragedy, and currently being accosted by some curly-haired kid she didn't know. Poor guy.

After a few minutes of just laying like that, she sat up and arranged herself so that she'd be easier to spot when Reno came in. But she was just so tired...

Elena's head nodded against the cushions. She was fighting a losing battle to stay awake. Finally, she gave in.

[identity profile] offduty.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Still suffering from a mild headache, but feeling considerably better after his talk with Yuber, Reno made his way into the Sun Room where it didn't take long for him to spot Elena.

She looked like she was sleeping, though, Probably still out of it from the flu. Reno just hoped whatever bug that was didn't get passed on to him.

He slipped up behind the couch and leaned over into her ear.

"Well, aren't we the sleeping beauty."

Field trips?

Anthy was suspicious right off when that was mentioned. After all, students in the academy certainly had gotten plenty of 'excursions', supposedly outside the gates of the campus, but that hadn't meant they were any closer to graduating. Indeed, in a way, it had strengthened the illusion; the notion that there was nothing wrong with the present way of being; the purgatory of a tortured and misguided adolescence. She remembered Mikage-san's situation all too well; a boy who had been so sure of himself having grown close to an anwer; to being a strong man in the real world, that he even came to be in denial of his own death.

But she had used him, hadn't she?

She shuddered. There was something very wrong with the ringmaster of this game seeming so eager to show them what he called "Outside". She needed to think of some way to strengthen her knowledge of this situation, and books weren't likely going to help her (And patients in the library were probably wishing to be undisturbed with their books) so Anthy chose the sun room. She could attempt to write in code on the bulletin, perhaps. Gain some knowledge that way, or at least talk to people. She had been a victim and an instigator of this same kind of trap before, and she wasn't going to be her own prisoner again.

On most occasions Haruhi largely ignore the intercom. Today she had intended on ignoring the intercom in favor of thinking up good SOS Brigade meeting times. But thinking about the brigade got her thinking about Kyon and that was enough to break her train of thought long enough for her to hear about the field trip. Dolyeton huh? She'd never heard of it, but it would be a nice change from the usual day activities. She lived for the night anyway.

Haruhi went to the sunroom to check the bulletin board, but she couldn't help but notice the girl nearby. Of course, it was probably just her "cute mascot girl radar" going off. She was still on the lookout for one of those for the brigade. Might as well see if this was a candidate!

"Are you cold or something?" She asked, noticing that the other girl had shuddered. There was also the possibility that she was thinking something unpleasant, but what did a cute girl like that have to worry about?

Field trips. And that stupid maggot was tagging along as well, claiming that he wanted to meet the patients in person. Albel wanted to puke his lunch with that statement.

Oh, he wanted to meet the worm in person, all right. And so did the point of his knife. But the Elicoorian knew that it wasn't going to be that easy. That idiot had appeared in the chapel before, and he was well protected.

Considering libraries to be a complete waste of time, he plopped down on a couch in the Sun Room.

[I'll delete if you had some kind of plans? And in that case, sorry for the bother!]

Is this the afterlife you wished upon that falling star?

Katou was glad the intercom had clicked on just when it had. Nothing stopped him from leaving Kikyo with a wide grin, hands pushed deep into the pockets of his pants and strolling lazily towards the Sun room. He hardly had got any afterlife in mind, something completely else rather.

The nurse tried to point him towards the library but he shrugged her away with "I don't read. Is there any manga?" Actually, he wasn't interested in any comic at the moment either, more curious about this place in general. This Hell seemed nice compared to what Setsuna had told him about the earlier one. Maybe the satans had thought remodeling was in order?

Eying the sun room, he noticed a guy with only one arm and black hair, looking suitably grumpy. Grinning, Katou plopped on the couch beside the man, sprawling out the best he could.

"Yo," he said as a greeting.

Well, lunch with HK had been about as productive as usual, so SubZero was glad to be back in the sun room. He didn't see Lust around at all, and he didn't feel like putting forth the effort of going to someone else.

If anyone wanted to speak to him, they could come find him. SubZero went to one of the couches and sat down on it, getting comfortable. It would be dinner time soon.

Books were for pussies.

Not that he wanted to be in the Sun Room to begin with (hell, he'd rather just be back to normal, with his Other, and back in New York), but it beat having to be surrounded by a bunch of bookwormish nerds. If he was going to be stuck here for who knew how long, he certainly wasn't going to spend his spare time getting his ear talked off by the kind of elitist retard who always said stuff like "Oh, the book was so much better than the movie". Hell with that.

Limping into the room, he headed for one of the couches where he could get a good dose of fading sunlight. No sign of Parker. He'd probably made the exact opposite choice that Brock made, and was probably doing whatever geeks did when in a library. The Sun Room this evening was relatively empty, and, miraculously, he couldn't see any signs of a fight, or even that he'd taken a two story plunge from the upper levels last night. He still had no idea how they did that party trick.

At least Kasady wasn't here.

Going to kill that son of a bitch, Brock thought. He wasn't sure when he'd get a next chance, but he knew he could actually touch the other, younger symbiote. He'd made the bleed last night. Now it was just a case of healing and seeing if there wasn't a more subtle approach than what he'd tried earlier. Brock couldn't say he was the most patient of people, but he could do obsessive. And killing a rival? Seemed something worth obsessing over.

[coming from the Library (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/212694.html?thread=15137494#t15137494)]

The Sun Room wasn't much louder, and had a bit more room, so it wasn't a bad exchange. The only two shinigami in the room were Hinamori and Toushirou and if they kept their distance, he wouldn't bother them either. They'd have to get used to working with one another soon though, or night was going to be unpleasant.

There were several solitary loungers in the room, some Gin recognized, others he didn't. He decided on a familiar one. One he'd met only last night in fact. The man had made a rather odd appearance in this very room, falling down to the floor from the second story.

"Ain't lookin' too good," Gin commented, a helpful smile on his lips. "Bad night?" Of course, he hadn't much helped with the man's condition. After his fall, Gin had seen to kicking him across the room. He'd play the innocent, at least for now. "Must not a' helped that you ah... wound up here either, ne? Hope I didn' trouble y'too much. Always such nasty stuff goin' on at night."

ext_203323: Malcolm Jamieson as Armand St. Just in The Scarlet Pimpernel looking down while outside with a tree in background (distant)

Armand listened to the announcement. They would get to see the head doctor? That was something to mull over. He bid Citan a hurried farewell before a nurse was able to swoop up to collect either of him. This was going to be his chance to speak to the "captain."

He looked around the Sun Room, unable to settle, even though he couldn't find Hitsugaya. His mind was whirling yet again. At least, Javert seemed not to mind that he needed to help Citan tonight. Then he remembered the man had said he had another meeting. He circled restlessly, trying not to get too close to any of the private conversations.

[from two threads down]

Hitsugaya didn't know what his other appointment looked like, so he only had to assume they were here. The other patient should have had his description, so it was simply a matter of making himself visible to the other patients.

He found the most visible and central location to the sun room he could and remained standing, scanning the crowd of other patients. Despite his short stature, he knew he stood out fairly easily. There weren't very many people who looked like white-haired 13 year olds, after all.

Javert was mildly annoyed that he hadn't gotten anything done at lunch, sharing his maps aside. Then again, there was little else he could have done. He frowned at the thought; he didn't like feeling useless. But he'd have enough to do tonight.

Seating himself on a couch, Javert opened Les Misérables and started reading again, a thoughtful frown on his face.

[identity profile] janus-006.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
A-ha! There he was. Trevelyan crossed the Sun Room, unwittingly falling into the walk of someone who didn't want to be noticed. It was a casual sort of gait, and he meandered over to Javert over the course of a few minutes. Just in case, he took a glance at the bulletin board, saw a note that had been left for him, and scribbled a response. It was probably too late in the day to leave a notice about the goods he'd acquired - he'd do it tomorrow. Maybe he'd have more to trade with. For tonight, he'd just have to make do with his hard-earned steak knife and whatever else he could find.

"So, how's your book?" he asked innocently, sitting on the couch near Javert. It was still early days yet - he wondered if the Inspector had encountered himself.

Ask about what happens at night, was that it? Mukuro turned that last bit of 'advice' over as he left Peter Parker to head to the next area. What were they, sheep? The idea of him being a sheep twisted his mouth into an amused smile. Hitsuji Masato indeed, it was a sort of sick irony in his mind. He looked around the Sun Room, discounting the other 'patients' almost immediately.

Perhaps he should be more in shock, or something. Protest his situation loudly and fuss -- it would be 'normal' in a way. But Mukuro was a patient person and everything could be done with tradition and the proper steps if one just took the time to think about it.

On some levels, Danny was kind of happier being clueless. After having lunch with Sephiroth, he was starting to get more paranoid around things. Especially that announcement into the library period-shift thing. A field trip? If Sephiroth was right, that was the last thing he wanted. It sounded like going to a theme park with Mr. Lancer. It sounded like a good opportunity, but in actuality was just as bad, if not worse, than regular classroom lessons.

The now frightening walls of Landel's had led him into the Sun Room, where a variety of other patients sat there. He couldn't help but think of them as food now, not for himself, but more as fellow produce. If he wanted to be poetic (which he didn't, really), he could've described the situation as a bunch of steaks sitting next to each other on a supermarket shelf.

But that was gruesome. And he didn't like being gruesome. So, he pushed the thought from his mind and tried to stay calm, as calm as he could, and plopped down on a couch, where there was still room left. The idea of going to the library didn't appeal to him (the idea of reading in any way, shape, or form didn't appeal to him) so the only option left was the Sun Room.

For now he kept quiet and didn't say anything, partially out of disgust at the idea of Landel's at night-time and partially because he didn't want to stir up any trouble. Some of these people really looked like he could do with avoiding them...

[If you have plans, I'll delete. ^.^]

Lunch had made Ururu think rather hard about things, things like different worlds, which in her life had been limited to two: Karakura Town, and the Soul Society. But now there were supposed to be many many more, and the small girl still wasn't quite sure what to think of it.

And worse, Kisuke-san wasn't around. Kisuke-san would have understood, and would have been able to help Ururu understand. But the nurses kept insisting that she hurry to the next thing, without letting her stop to look for him. She ended up in the Sun Room, and decided that would be the best place to wait, since Kisuke-san would have to come that way too.

So Ururu, dressed in her uniform covered with pink polka-dots and carefully clutching a small stack of paper in her hands, made her way to a boy who looked closer to her age. Ichimaru-san, who was the enemy, had been old, but maybe the younger ones were okay, like Rhode-chan.

"Hello." Ururu stood in front of Danny, looking up at him with a completely neutral expression. "Are you from a different world?"

[waiting for Omi...for now]

Hitsugaya stopped at the sun room, knowing that Omi would be along shortly. He didn't like having these conversations with people who weren't even shinigami. He liked the way Omi had been working with them previously, but his evasiveness was obnoxious. They had to come to an understanding if there were to be any sort of partnership between them.

He took a seat on a vacant couch to wait for the boy. This shouldn't take long.

[identity profile] daddyslilkiller.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
He hadn't been quite this apprehensive since... well, actually, he couldn't remember when. He wasn't even quite sure why he was nervous, but he was pretty sure he didn't want to be here, looking for Hitsugaya.

He spotted the other boy on a couch in the sun room and made his way over, trying not to picture the trek with a funeral march for a soundtrack. He really had to stop watching those American movies with Yohji.

He stopped next to the couch but didn't sit. He wasn't sure it would be welcome. "You wanted something, Hitsugaya-san?"
