Nightshift 24: Second M Block, Near the bathrooms and exit

((Coming from here.))

It wasn't a long way to go before he wound up at the doors leading out of the cellblock. Kimbley couldn't quite remember what room Wesker said he was in - not that it mattered - but he knew it would still be a while. The doors had just unlocked; he wasn't expecting anything, or anyone, else to show up and recognize him for a while.

Hah, although it would be deadly if Mustang showed up and saw him. Then he might have to forego traveling through this place with Wesker just to spend some time with his old friend. That would be more than worth the later bruises he got - or the current ones.

Now he was hoping Mustang arrived. Really, really hoping. He hadn't had fun since Lior; it was about time something happened.

Haku looked around the area. He could hear people starting to leave their rooms and he briefly wondered what they had planned for the evening. He also wondered about the fight Recluse and that other man were supposed to have. He had no doubt that Recluse would show up, he seemed the honorable sort (as well as appearing to want to kill the other), but he wasn't sure about 'John'.

It wasn't his concern anyway.

Ginji noticed that there were some people already in the hallway when he entered it. He was in a hurry but he couldn't just ignore them. His flashlight caught one that was probably a few years younger than him.

"Hi," he said with a quiet voice. "I'm Ginji. Where are you heading? I'm heading to the other M Block. Maybe we can walk together for a bit?" It wasn't that he was saying that the kid needed protection, he just had learned it was always better to have someone to watch your back. If the kid was heading somewhere else, then no harm done by introducing himself.

Tatsumi moved through the halls as quickly as he could manage, given that it was dark and he only had a flashlight to see by. Still, he found some comfort in seeing the number of people already out, and their lack of interest in him. While he didn't let his guard lower because of that, it did help to know that not everyone was a creature that wanted to kill him.

He kept an eye on each as he passed, them, heading to the door that lead to the connecting hallway. If he had managed to find his way so quickly, there was hope that the other three could do the same. Then they could decide on an objective for the night, with plenty of time remaining to accomplish it.

Captain Jack noted someone else out in the hall with a flashlight. He waved his skillet cheerfully as he began to pass on by, adding in a quiet, "Evening!" as well. It never hurt to be friendly, after all.

Renji was very quiet for a man of his size, thanks to the fact that he wasn't wearing shoes - and knew how to run, fast and silent, because it was a skill he'd needed to learn to survive.

He noted there were people in the area, but none of them seemed hostile to him particularly, and that was all that mattered. Maybe another day he would have stopped for a quick chat, but he had too much to do.

He ran past them all and out the exit.

Jack quietly half sang/half hummed as he moved through the halls towards the sunroom. There were people around (not surprising, given that he had been told the doors opened for EVERYONE at night), but Jack wasn't interested in interacting. As far as he was concerned, he needed to get to this fight and get it out of the way, lest HE appear to be the lesser man.

Even if his arms and armor were a bit lacking at the moment.

Continuing with his almost silent step and song, Jack walked on.

Greed's general sense of well-being was not unlike the way he'd felt after that goddamn skull had fallen from the ceiling and he'd broken his bonds after some hundred years of boredom. Another man might have described it as the feeling one has after getting over a bad flu, but being an undead product of forbidden alchemy, Greed had never suffered those sorts of unpleasantries.

"The hell..." He mumbled, and he fell out of bed without much regard for where he landed or who might have been watching. Luckily for him, a bleary glance towards the other bed in his room told him that he was alone, and as he gave a low groan and rolled onto his back, he realized he was no further out of this weird purgatory than he'd been before.

He scowled.

A moment later, the door from his room slammed open with the ferocity of something caged, though his gait was unsteady as he walked down the length of the hall, and he growled to himself when he found he had to lean a hand on the wall for support as he rounded the corner into the area between the patient rooms and the bathroom.

He used his other hand to hold his head, swaying.

Fuck.

The replica wasn't sure if the two guys were following or not, and didn't care much either way. As long as he wasn't stuck in one place, he'd be good. And he always had the Soul Eater, should he really need it.

But where to go? He could see the open door leading out into another hallway and a door to a bathroom, but the replica didn't need to use the latter and could only see so much of the former. His sense of smell was off-key, anyway - he swore it felt weaker. And with so many people packed into one place, it was just a mass of fear and scorn and trepidation.

He'd ditched the slippers earlier and could feel the cold tiles underneath his toes as he peaked around the doorframe, turning back for a brief moment when he heard a door slam open. He'd tensed at the sound, but could only feel loud footsteps. If it was anything of note, he could slip around and let some other fool handle it.

Having no other leads or reason to do different, Citan followed the boy who apparently had no name.

"I don't suppose you have any idea where we're going, young one?" he asked, keeping his eye on the surroundings. It was difficult to judge size from the interior. The echoes of their footsteps led him to believe it certainly wasn't a small facility. He was rather certain it was above ground, though he'd yet to see any windows.

Citan as well paused when he heard a door, tilting his head to try and discern where the sound had come from.

More prisoners?

"M50... M60... M70, and M80," Artemis grinned again, filling in the hallways as he read the numbers off the first door on each hall. This mapping thing wasn't difficult at all! The boy could see two men and a boy standing around, but he wasn't about to start up a conversation--the boy didn't even have any slippers on.

Artemis looked behind and to his right, noting a door. There was one right in front of him too, but that lead outside the room blocks--this much he remembered. So why not see what was behind door number one?

Another mostly empty hallway, still with a distinct lack of monsters. Light was a little unnerved by that, for some reason, but the night was still young. He was also beginning to regret his decision to leave the notebook behind, because while it was a poignant reminder that his mission to become the god of the new world had been put on hold because of his newfound imprisonment, it would have been incredibly useful to draw a map of this place as he wandered through it. He didn't doubt his own ability to remember just where everything was in this building as he came across it, but still it was something to think about.

Frowning to himself, he kept walking. He had to find something eventually.

Hikaru was still thinking about his session with Dr. Wilson. It had been...interesting. The x-ray itself had been rather abortive, because Wilson's high heart rate and odd babbling had taken higher priority...but...

It had been entertaining none the less.

The Host was walking casually towards the other M-Block, on his way to find his brother, when he found another familiar face instead. Yagami Light. The one who had thought they were all crazy earlier in the day.

"Yagami-san!" Hikaru called softly, waving.

James was silent as he slunk around the cornre, all too aware of the hissing radio that he had silenced down to the lowest level he could and yet still hear its warnings. The first screech alerted him to the cat's presence before he even got there. If there was one thing Silent Hill had taught him, it was that having a weapon was a good thing. Without one, he was easy prey like those torn apart corpses he'd seen littering the streets.

Keeping low, he dodged for the door and out into the hallway.

There was the scent of fresh blood pervading the air, like it had been recently spilled. Alucard did not to stop and investigate, but kept on creeping towards the exit. Though his chances of actually feeding were low tonight, he felt it best not to fail, or anger his Master further. She could stop him from feeding from anyone else, with a single command after all. Starve him of his blood as a punishment for his gluttony.

Besides, he had no weapon to crack skulls with. Alucard chose to slip out the hall instead.

HK turned the corner into the main corridor of this cell block. He did hope that the meatbag following him didn't get lost in the dark. Or plan on attacking him instead of waiting to attack one of the guards.

One never knows. Meatbags can be so impatient sometimes!

As it so happened, one of the numerous cats who were hunting the building for prey had recently arrived at the cell block, sniffing the air for prey. It could smell some faint scents, most of which were gone now. But it picked up a fresh scent that was coming closer and closer, and the cat bent down in the shadows, awaiting a time to strike.

As the first of it's prey rounded the corner, the cat moved closer, seemingly gliding through the shadows without a sound. Once it got close enough, there was a slight clicking noise as the cat's claws unsheathed, clicking against the floor.

But by then it was too late, and with a snarl, the cat leaped forward and clawed at HK, trying to surprise the patient.

Renji paused again as they entered the second M-block. This time he did hear something; people talking. He paused for a moment, figuring out their general location in the hallway by sound. He wasn't certain what they were talking about, but neither voice sounded all that friendly, and they'd wasted enough time.

He led on, sticking close to the girls, and keeping them on the wall as far from the sounds of other people as possible.

The bathroom wasn't far inside anyway.

Tatsumi shined his flashlight around carefully, not wanting to run into anything undesirable in the halls. They group had already had their collective share of terrible luck to end up with so many of them there. Perhaps now they'd have some good to balance it out, allowing them to get to M65 safely.

He motioned behind him once he saw the path appeared to be clear, and walked quickly. No point in idling while whatever monsters there were caught up.
