Nightshift 24: Second M Block, Near the bathrooms and exit

((Coming from here.))

It wasn't a long way to go before he wound up at the doors leading out of the cellblock. Kimbley couldn't quite remember what room Wesker said he was in - not that it mattered - but he knew it would still be a while. The doors had just unlocked; he wasn't expecting anything, or anyone, else to show up and recognize him for a while.

Hah, although it would be deadly if Mustang showed up and saw him. Then he might have to forego traveling through this place with Wesker just to spend some time with his old friend. That would be more than worth the later bruises he got - or the current ones.

Now he was hoping Mustang arrived. Really, really hoping. He hadn't had fun since Lior; it was about time something happened.

The cat knew now knew not get too close to the one who had kicked it and when the patient tried it again, the cat ducked and jumped back, dodging both of the kicks.

However, it remained distracted and that was what allowed the other patient to stab it in the neck. Now the creature was truly wounded, letting out a pained screech and wrenching away.

With the stab at it's neck slowing it down and slowly draining it of blood, the cat was susceptible to a killing blow.

Even though the cat had avoided his next set of attacks, SubZero was not going to let it get away. HK had stabbed it in the neck with... something, SubZero couldn't tell what exactly.

The Lin Kuei warrior rushed forward, hands darting out quickly to grab at the over-sized felines head. While he knew exactly how much force it took to snap a human neck and remove the head, he'd never attempted this move on anything other than a human.

Still, the neck was a very fragile structure, and it was not designed to deal with someone grabbing the skull, twisting, and pulling.

It was amazing how different noises could seem, depending on the situation. Usually, a loud, high-pitched sound would have made HK distinctly unhappy. But since it had been triggered by his stabbing and was accompanied by large amounts of blood, the screech was a lovely thing to hear.

Unfortunately if he did it again, he'd end up accidentally stabbing the other meatbag as well. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad. But this looked like it was about to get interesting- HK waited at the ready with the writing implement in his very bloody hand, just in case the screaming predator meatbag escaped.

The monster didn't have the strength to resist Subzero's attacks, although it sure tried. With the amount of tugging and pulling at it's neck, something was bound to snap, and it did. With a sharp crack, the cat's body immediately fell limp and sagged to the floor.

The cat seemed to be alone, as nothing else stirred in the hall. The silence returned, heavy as ever.

SubZero let go at the satisfying sound of the neck snapping. He glanced down at the over-sized cat.

That was certainly something that didn't belong in a mental hospital. What sort of hospital let monsters wander around at night where the patients could get hurt?

Sure, he'd been looking for a fight, but he'd been planning on ambushing a nurse or orderly. It was a good thing ZEX hadn't come along.

HK wiped the blood off the pen and his hand while he examined the deceased meatbag. "Statement: I would more expect to find a specimen like this in a wild area. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary on Kashyyyk." 'Monster' did seem to be an accurate description that a meatbag might come up with for something like this.

"Semi-intelligent guards are usually not released without a handler, or if the entire set-up is more for the amusement of an audience." Was that the point to this? It seemed reasonable to suppose that there would be cameras hidden throughout this facility.

"They could simply wish to destroy us if we stepped out of bounds. It looks like a cat. Beasts like that are more expendable than troops, easier to replace.I've run into animals used as guards before, but those were all dogs," This place seemed to run on different rules than he was use to playing by, but clearly they were designed for people who could fight.

"It doesn't make sense, though. Maybe if we can find someone who works here we can... ask them some questions," He wasn't particularly fond of interrogation, but it could be useful to know what was going on.

"Agreement: With the power demonstrated already, destroying a few prisoners seems completely within their limits. There is most likely an audience to all of this." Stick a few meatbags in a box with something nasty, watch the meatbags squirm. That was generally how he classified all things presented as 'sport' or 'entertainment'.

HK's face twitched, almost smiling for a moment. "Exclamation: My favorite pastime! I do hope some of the staff are capable of answering questions." Whether they actually had answers or not was irrelevant. Torture was never really done for the answers, anyway.

There didn't have to be an audience, though it wasn't impossible... he knew some people thought watching people kill one another, or other things, was a sport, but SubZero had never known many of them.

And, naturally, HK would be a fan of interrogation. SubZero had never had much use for it, the Grandmaster had never sent him on any missions that required purposefully not killing someone.

"Good, I'll let you do the questioning, then."

[identity profile] arc-wrench.livejournal.com 2007-06-09 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
If one familiar with HK had been there, they would have recognized his happily morbid tone instantly. "Statement: Thank you, meatbag! I may be missing all of my usual tools for such things, but..." He examined the writing utensil in his hand. Violent thoughts ran through his mind. "I do believe I could make do with what I have here." There were so many places on meatbag bodies that simply needed pressure applied to produce pain. A small, blunt point could produce some very interesting results when stabbed into those spots.

HK nearly smiled again. "Query: Shall we continue on?"

[identity profile] icy-demise.livejournal.com 2007-06-12 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
SubZero found that people who enjoyed interrogation were generally not the sort that he wanted to be around. Those who enjoyed causing suffering were usually less-efficient killers, who enjoyed needlessly tormenting a target before finishing the job.

Hopefully, HK would prove to be an exception, since he'd dealt a very deadly blow to the cat earlier. As long as he went for the kill when they were fighting, SubZero didn't care if HK liked to torture people for answers. It saved him the trouble, at least, and made an excellent threat.

"Of course, lead the way. If we could find some offices, there would probably be people around them, and if not, maybe something useful."
