Yuffie didn't take long to leave her room. She knew Aidou wouldn't wait very long, so she had to get done with her errand as quickly as possible. Luckily for her, she wasn't all that far away from their meeting place. And Tifa was just down the hallway. She wasn't going to waste her time by running the key over to Vincent. That would take too long, and he'd probably be crabby anyway.

It didn't seem like anyone was out in the hallways yet, which was a good sign for her. The less people that were out, the less chance she had of being stopped by anyone. So, quickly, she hurried down the hallway.

[Hurrying to here.]

Rukia had been about to ask Renji what that 'never mind' had been all about, but the intercom clicked on, interrupting her. Right away, the nurse approached, cheerful as always. "Okay, Shiori, would you like to go to the Sun Room, the Game Room, or the Music Room?"

Rukia stared at the woman, open-mouthed, for a moment. Hadn't the man just said that adults were to go to the showers...? And then Rukia realized that, yes, she looked like she was about 15 years old. Great. She almost protested, but, remembering her vow to be good and try to get information from the staff, she smiled, saying, "Aah, how about the Game Room? That sounds... fun."

Casting one last unreadable look at Renji, Rukia followed the nurse out of the library, to the room next door. Really, she felt like she should be trying harder to chat up the nurse, but she was still in shock over Ichigo's disappearance. And things with her and Renji...

Padding over to one of the large, brown couches, Rukia sat down. The couch was surprisingly comfortable, so she kicked off her slippers and tucked her feet up. Taking out her notebook and pen, she stared at the notes she'd made during breakfast, not really seeing them.

Raine stopped just outside the Sun Room, which was only a little lighter than the rest of the Institute now because of the skylight; the moon was apparently out. She wondered briefly what the moon looked like, here, but pushed that thought aside. She didn't hear anything from inside...

Standing just outside the doorway, so anyone inside the room wouldn't be able to see her, she looked back at her companions. "It sounds empty. Let's go in." She'd only gotten a few looks at the room during the day, but she was fairly certain that once inside, they should take a left to get into the Arts & Crafts room; it still sounded like a poor place to find weapons, but it was worth taking the chance. She had yet to meet a god at full power, but the myths she knew were informative enough. If they could just retrieve what Amaterasu needed to perhaps get her to a stronger state...

Raine clicked her flashlight on and jumped into the Sun Room's entrance, flicking the beam of light around to hopefully reveal any monsters hiding in the shadows. She held Reinforce's discarded crutch, her only real weapon, at the ready just in case; she wasn't letting herself be caught off-guard just yet.

Well, this was a fine situation Penelo was in. Didn't someone tell her on the bulletin board that one shouldn't go out alone? And yet here she was, with nothing but her light and a sketchy memory to go by. The halls looked all the same to her, but she had a hunch that she was going the right way. Well, Penelo didn't intend to stay alone for long. Larsa and Gabranth would meet up with her soon enough. Hopefully they had room numbers, because she didn't want to do this again.

It was just so... quiet and still at night. Even at the oldest, most ancient places, such as Giruvegan, Penelo still had her friends with her. And the ruins were stirring with life. Hostile life, but life nonetheless. Here, there was nothing but the darkness and silence. It was unnerving.

But she didn't have time to dwadle. For all she knew, Larsa and Gabranth were waiting for her already. Or something like that. Once they all met up, it would be easier to move around, she imagined.

And so, Penelo hurried on, encouraged by the slightly familiar sights. To the Sun Room, then. She had a plan! ... it just didn't seem so good now that she thought about it.

River could recall little of the evening spent dining with her new roommate. She wasn't even entirely certain that she'd even been there. Too quickly had a girl become lost in the woods, and too quickly did she find tears coursing down her cheeks as she realized that her brother was going to do something stupid. She had to find him. She had to find someone. Simon. Dias. Lust. Scar. Sasuke. A dozen other names whirled around in her mind, and she found herself pushing open the door to her room, regular supplies in hand, and bolting out into the hallway. He was an idiot. He was stupid, and she had to tell him so.

The girl stopped, dropping down to her knees and clutching her forehead as she began to weep. They were a family. Family was supposed to stick together, to do things together. Even Simon... Family was supposed to stick together. Had he no faith?

None of them did. Gorram bastards. No faith, and the walls were dripping with the blood of the faith they'd killed. There was no god, no illogical representation of man's inner desire to explain what was inexplicable and to find comfort in the ambiguity of the afterlife. Self-righteous bastards the lot. Self-righteous, and her mind. They'd taken her mind.

River's hands shook as she got back to her feet, eyes wild and yet focused. There was work to be done, brothers to scold, family to dance with. The walls were shifting, and soon she wouldn't be able to breathe.

As the intercom switched on, the shuffling of papers was the first thing that could be heard rather than the voice of the Head Doctor. It seemed he had been going through a lot of them today, a fact which could perhaps be attributed to the fact that so many new patients had flooded the halls of Landel's on this particular afternoon.

Of course, the day was almost over, which accounted for the slight tinge of fatigue that could be heard in the Head Doctor's voice as he finally pulled the microphone towards him.

"Ah, yes, and it seems we have arrived at our final junction of the day!" He said, sounding slightly preoccupied as he looked for what he needed in his files. "I am pleased to announce something that many of you might have already guessed: In order to promote good behavior and friendly interaction among our patients, we have set as many individuals as possible up with roommates! Yes, yes, we all hope that you get along with your new friends, and upon the shoulders of patients who have new patients as their roommates, we put the responsibility of tutoring our newcomers about their current way of life. Speaking of which, I have a list of new introducteés this evening: John Bull, Arthur Hurley, Arthur Dent, Cole Li, Philip Hunt, Henry Kobayashi, Elena Taylor, David Barrows, Tobias Prince, Keanu Reeves, Brian Jones, Regina Dawson, and Matt Sherrow."

Just as the Head Doctor seemed ready to wrap up his short announcement, he seemed to remember one more thing.

"Ah, yes, and how could I forget dinner? Tonight, you'll be served trout fillets fried in a garlic-butter sauce, complete with sides of peas, cooked carrots, macaroni & cheese, and a baked potato. To drink, we will be serving a choice of water, milk, or apple juice, and for dessert, each patient will have a slice of chocolate cake all to themselves! Yes, a wonderful end to a wonderful day, don't you think?"

He paused for a final time.

"I believe that is all for today! I do hope you enjoy our dinners and that you look forward to our next Sunday excursion. After all, something special might again be in store. Ta-taaa!"

The intercom clicked off.

It was probably a good thing Penelo listened to that weird silver haired man (she never really did get his name, did she?), because her short investigation of the Bulletin Board revealed that she wasn't alone after all. Larsa and Gabranth were here too, for whatever reason.

Penelo still couldn't quite wrap her mind around the concept that Gabranth was alive, when she had heard his dying words and had later attended his funeral back at Archades. Basch had taken his place since then, and it just boggled her. How could Gabranth have returned to life? There was no force in Ivalice that could do that.

Then again, it looked like she wasn't in Ivalice anymore.

Penelo sighed, seating herself at a table near the bulletin board as she waited for Larsa and Gabranth to arrive. Hopefully, Larsa would have some answers; she never doubted his ability to dig up information, no matter what the situation. Even so, what did they get themselves into?

"At least Vaan isn't here," Penelo reminded herself. She had gone from frantically searching for Vaan to praising the Gods that he hadn't been captured in this prison.

Despite the disturbing revelations and rather depressing mood of brunch, Tamaki was looking forward to Hosting once more. And he knew that at least two girls would be coming! He really did need to find a lady-Host, or a few. It wasn't very likely that every man who attended would be amenable to the usual Host attentions. No, they'd need some girls.

Real girls, not Haruhi-girls. Oh, Haruhi... Tamaki both missed her and was pleased she seemed to be keeping to herself and out of danger.

But now it was time to Host! The Courtyard was hardly on par with the gardens of Ouran, but it was pretty. And there were places to sit and flowers and all in all the best option available. Tamaki draped himself elegantly across a bench, and then scrambled up to tack a hand-written sign - done on journal paper - behind him. It simply said:

HOST CLUB

With that done, Tamaki nodded and lounged again, stretching out like the Lord he titled himself as to wait for the others.

The intercom clicked on with its usual enthusiasm.

"Well, I hope you all enjoyed your brunch as much as you could given your excitement, because now is the time that I'm sure you've all been waiting for!" Of course, nearly everyone had been dreading this unwanted complication of visitors, but the Head Doctor had never been one for candor. "These next two shifts, you may wander to and from any of the following areas: The Sun Room, the Music Room, the Game Room, the Patients' Library, the Arts & Crafts Room, the Cafeteria (in which assorted crackers, cheese, cookies, and beverages will be available throughout the day), and the Courtyard. Minors are free to ask their nurses to escort them to the bathrooms or showers during the first shift and adults during the second shift. Men are free to ask to be escorted to the Recreational field (and play with items in the Activity Shed depending on how well-behaved they are!) and women may go during the second shift. You may also ask to be escorted back to your room at any time during either shift.

The Head Doctor took a breath, then continued in perhaps an even jollier tone.

"However, the following patients will be doing something even more exciting during the next shift: Matthew Lawrence, Peter Snide, Skylar Moore, Lawrence Fischer, Alex Roberts, Jonathan River, and Daniel Wright will be escorted to Waiting Room 1; Jack Doughter, Roland Langley, Kelly Lamden, Daniel Adams, Mark Lancaster, and Franz Haushofer will be escorted to Waiting Room 2. I am of course referring to the visitation of loved ones, for which the aforementioned patients shall be escorted to Waiting Room 1 and Waiting Room 2, and I truly hope that you and your friends and family may have a lovely, peaceful afternoon together."

After a moment of reflecting the same quiet peace that he supposedly wished upon his patients, the Head Doctor made what had become a usual addendum.

"Ah, yes, and how can we forget being graced with even more new faces on this sunny Landel's day? Please welcome Hanada Shiori, Nick Hall, Jake Emmet, Michael Thomas, Kalvin Mirsch, Catherine Taber, Jeanne Anderson, Donovan Kirby, and Fred Rogers! Look forward to even more additions to our fast-growing population as the days progress, and I hope you all enjoy our Sunday treats! Until next shift!"

The intercom clicked off with perhaps even more subtly twisted joy than it normally showcased.

[ OOC: There should only be two posts for the visitor shifts---one for Waiting Room 1 and another for Waiting Room 2. Each patient who's receiving a visitor makes their own separate thread in which they interact with their visitor, and unless you've already cleared special circumstances (like two patients receiving the same visitor) by the mods, please keep all the patients in separate threads--to keep things simple. 8D Anyway, here's the official description for the Waiting Rooms, so please abide by it:

Waiting Room/Lobby 1 and 2: This is where patients wait while they’re being checked in (though no one seems to actually remember this process). It’s also the place where patients are reunited with their loved ones - for a short while - during visitation hours. Cushioned, but not overly comfortable chairs are placed against the walls, with wooden tables here and there. A couple of magazine racks sit near the doors leading to the entry room, which periodicals such as Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, National Geographic, and various medical magazines. However, the magazines seem rather dated, as their pages are worn and wrinkled from extensive use. (They certainly do come from Earth, however, and chronicle events from our time, as well as some ominous speculation on an upcoming world war...)
