Junpei eased the door to the bathroom open, shining the light around carefully before stepping further into it. He wanted to make sure there wasn't anything in here before he let Chidori come in. Sure, she was probably a little annoyed at his protectiveness, but she was unarmed and he was the man. It was his job to keep his girl safe and he was damn well going to do so.

Seeing nothing moving, Junpei decided to make things very clear to any non-corporeal beings. Or things hiding in the toilets. Now that would be creepy.

"Now, you creepy crawlies and other shadows and B-movie rejects, listen up! I am the Great Junpei Iori and if you mess with me or try to eat my girlfriend's face, I'm going to fuck your shit up. Got it?" He waited a moment, listening intently, for something to at least run away screaming that wasn't himself. Nothing. Well, he'd settle for them cowering silently in fear of his awesomeness.

That done, Junpei stepped to the side so Chidori could come inside. "So how much do you think you need?"

Obviously she had hurried too fast. No one was even in this hallway yet, and she stared at the empty hall with a sigh. She guessed she was waiting then. At least she had arrived before the other two of her team.

Her. Hah.

Senna moved to a closeby wall, leaning against it lazily. Momo was a Shinigami. She'd be here soon. Then they'd sort out this mess. Senna watched the doorways, one hand holding her spear and the other idly playing with the red sash tied around her waist.

...Now that was ridiculous. The guy was supposed to inspire fear, and he was sleeping? Well, that was just.... Senna shook her head, moving to the closet to switch into her Shinigami uniform quickly, and grab the wooden spear she still had.

She had no idea what Momo had meant by placing her name first, and no idea what mission they were going to do tonight, but if she got there quickly, Senna might be able to find out before the others arrived.

That had been a very interesting shift, Miku decided as she was wheeled around. Not only for making a new friend in Endrance (well, perhaps not friend, but very kind acquaintance), but for the overload of unwanted information from the bulletin. It was enough to make her want to hide until there was no chance of a blush ever forming on her face (and ears, and neck and anywhere else a blush might decide to raise its wily head).

Her nurse was oddly quiet for once, as she gathered her meal (vegetable pizza and milk) and wheeled Miku away from the crush of other patients being herded in. Well, then it would be a quiet lunch, she decided.

"Now, Alice, I expect not to see a crumb of food left, do you hear? Not a crumb," her nurse chastised her gently and Miku winced. So, they were noticing. She'd have to be more careful to eat a little more.

"Ah... yes. I'm sorry," Miku ducked her head and started picking at her meal with her knife and fork. "I'll eat." Even if the nurse was really a monster at night, she hated that tone of disappointment. She sighed and picked at what appeared to be a piece of broccoli on her pizza.

Ah, that was right. He should roll up-- Huh?

Cross blinked his eyes open to stare up at the ceiling, then sat up quickly. That was odd. Hadn't he just been in the hallway? This was the second time he'd woken in a room like this and it was baffling. He didn't even recall anything that would cause him to fall unconscious again. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he took a moment to scratch his head and try to put together pieces of a puzzle that had no intention of fitting.

This was ridiculous.

He wasn't allowed much more time before a boisterous woman arrived saying something about breakfast. Too surprised to put up much of an argument, Cross allowed her to lead him out of the room to a familiar and yet unfamiliar hallway. This wasn't the same room he'd been in the night before.

Trying to ask what was going on proved to be fruitless, and he decided to just take the food he was served and sit down. There had to be someone around here who knew something. And what had happened to Ryuuzaki?

Junpei slammed the door shut behind him, hoping it would keep Invisi-girl out. She hadn't been there when he came to, so maybe she'd gotten bored or something and wandered off. He eyed the small crack at the bottom of the door, hoping that she'd just been invisible and not like a cloud or something, cause it'd suck if she just slipped under the door like something from a creepy mist movie.

Finding a table nearby, Junpei sat down at it, bat placed on the table top, and took a few good long minutes to catch his breath and enjoy wonderful, beautiful air. While he caught his breath, he examined the rip in his pants, noting the rock he'd hit had cut his knee and there was some blood soaked into the grey fabric. It kinda stung when he poked it. Stupid rock.

So, he was in... like a cafeteria or something from the looks of it. Picking his bat back up, Junpei shined his flashlight around to get a better look at the room. Boring. There wasn't even any food out - just a bunch of tables and an empty buffet line. With the awesomeness of the food he'd had for dinner, he'd kinda wanted a bit of a midnight snack.

Oh, he shouldn't have thought of that. Midnight was when the Dark Hour was and a midnight snack was, like, what that scary chick was helping herself to outside. Did she have to like floss to get the fur out from between her teeth? Oh no... Junpei covered his mouth as he gagged, really hoping he wasn't going to throw up at the whole evil-Koro-chan-eating-pink-chick-of-ubercreepiness.

Spider closed the large double doors carefully behind him, still unsure as to whether the figments outside would transform into snake-toothed dogs and devour his liver. They did not. Elated, and recovered from his previous sprint, Spider let out a loud hoot and launched himself into the massive room.

This was the first room he'd managed to find in this white-tiled antiseptic-smelling prismfuck and by god he was going to make the most of it. It was like the architect had smashed all the rooms in the place into one to make more room for his beloved hallways. It was huge. He took a running jump and landed on a nearby table, crouching. He surveyed the room like a predator, grinning so widely it looked as if his head was about to spawn a swarm of infernal bicuspids. He took stock of exits, windows, tables, chairs ... and there was a bulletin board! He had pens. This could prove extremely entertaining.

Whistling merrily and tunelessly, he leapt from table to table on his way to the massive bulletin board.

Ururu hadn't talked much during dinner. Talking to Yukito during fourth shift had made her feel a little better, and she'd eaten something, but she still wasn't happy. She wasn't crying anymore though, and that was a good thing. She had promised to meet Kurt that night, and Ururu knew it was important. She wanted Kurt to know that he was still her friend, no matter how weird he said he looked.

Ururu was quick to leave when the time came, waving goodbye to Skuld. She still didn't have a flashlight, and she felt a little bad about it. She'd have to talk to that person from the board soon. She didn't mean to keep putting it off, especially because he'd been so nice to offer it to her at all. But for now, she focused on what she had to do tonight, and that was find Kurt.

Despite it being dark, the little girl took off running once she was in the hall.

Dinner had been quiet and uneventful, which was for the best. Beatrix was riding the edge of her own insanity and she was quite aware of it. The last thing she needed was to lose it on Maki. Again. Armed once again with her sword and knives, the Bride added two syringes from her stockpile - just in case.

SubZero hadn't responded to her post, but she knew the assassin would be there. And apparently so was the bitch. Great.

Quite thankfully, Ophelia had made it to the entrance of the Sun Room with no interruptions. She leaned against the wall on the right-hand side of the room's entrance, making sure to stay in the shadows and keep an ear out for any sudden noises.

Now there was naught but to wait. She crossed her arms, a self-satisfied grin crossing her face. Apart from their basement mission, Ophelia was looking forward to mentioning a little interesting something that Kio had pointed out to her during their bulletin board exploration earlier. She was certain that she would get a fun reaction out of at least Arlene, and perhaps the others too, though she didn't know how well acquainted HK and SubZero were with the other woman.

Ophelia slowed back to a walk as she entered the main hallway. It was a ways off in the dark, but she could just make out a small patch of light further down in the center of the hall, presumably streaming in from the Sun Room's glass ceiling. She didn't see anything yet, but there was no telling when something might suddenly jump out at her. That large glowing thing before had seemed to come out of nowhere, hadn't it? Who knew how Landel inserted his creatures into the building when night fell. For all she knew, he had some sort of magical location abilities, transporting creatures to wherever he desired on a whim. Power great enough to bring so many types of beings to a place like this was surely great enough for such feats.

Keeping her wits about her, Ophelia moved slowly down the hallway.

Ophelia carefully opened the door, listening and looking around in both directions for any signs of monster activity. When she was satisfied that there was none that she could detect, she swung the door open and hurried down toward the main hall where more of the moonlight could be seen faintly. Once she got there, she knew she was definitely going to have to keep her guard up, considering that the main hall had been where the big monster from the previous night had been.

Nothing around so far to get in her way. She was one of the first patients out of the starting gate. Excellent. Ophelia picked up the pace a bit, though didn't quite start running yet. She made for the dim moonlight she could see from the door at the end of the hall, keeping an eye out for any sudden movement that might jump out at her from the other F Block halls.

Celes had disdained taking food that was so alien in texture and consistency, and instead had taken her meal in her room. A room, she quickly discovered, did not hold any trace of her roommate’s belongings. It was troubling, very troubling; Celes remembered a promise of protection to the girl, which had fallen by the wayside. Guilt stabbed her between the eyes and she made a note to tell her roommate’s loved ones – should there be any left in this place – the news.

It would be cold comfort, of course, but Celes had never been very good at that. Comfort was for barmaids and nurses, lovers and wives, and since Celes practiced none of those professions, straight talk it would have to be. With a sigh, she wrote a quick note in her neat, masculine script and flourished the signature, just as usual. There was still worry in her heart over the location of Noah and Luxord; the act in and of itself something she chastised herself over. What was the point in worrying over two men that would be unlike to mourn over her own death or disappearance? Especially the literally heartless man.

Celes alighted on a couch and looked up at the afternoon sky, crossing her legs and forcing herself to concentrate on the evening ahead. She hummed one ditty or another – marching songs, none of that foolish, tavern-born, romantic ballad trash – and looked down to her journal, pen poised above paper and waiting for her composition.

Soubi was beginning to feel the effects of a busy morning on a tired body. To make things worse, they were serving Tacos and Burritos. He could really do some with something a bit softer today. Blander. But it was hardly his biggest concern right now.

Having picked out his lunch, he looked for Ritsuka. He had to apologise, but these things usually ended up in bigger arguments, so, as could be expected, Soubi was a little nervous. Maybe they wouldn't find each other this shift. Maybe he had a little more time?

Soubi sat alone, being sure that his face was set in the expression that sent the girls at College the other way.

Matt had to bite his tongue hard to keep from insisting he would be perfectly comfortable in the library, really, and could he please stop being led around like freaking cattle? As the nurse drew him into the empty Sun Room, the answer to that seemed to be a resounding 'No'.

Great.

He was given the usual talk of 'be nice', 'maybe someone will come back and you'll have someone to talk to' and the strangely sincere 'we're getting a few books in braille, they just haven't arrived yet'. He was sure he believed that one, but it would be nice to not be singled out for a change.

Reminded him of grammar school actually.

What a coincidence, he hadn't been fond of grammar school either. Settling back on the seat he'd found himself in, the Daredevil closed his eyes and debated on the merits of a nap as he listened to the occasional person stop by and scribble something down before leaving. A message board or something? He'd have to ask someone about that.

What a singularly delightful evening he'd had. It was dampened, of course, by two things, but those were small things and he supposed he could overlook them for now. First was that his powers had still not returned. If he truly were on punishment as he thought, though, he couldn't very well expect those to come back. Second was that the little brat had gotten away and was likely gearing up to blow his cover. That was something a little more concerning, but he had a story he could use to sweep all that under the rug. Still, he'd gotten a beautiful box of scalpels out of the deal and even with the annoying pain of his skin being irritated by the drops of acid, he wasn't any worse for wear.

And just as he thought that, Grell woke up in his bed, disorientated as he had been the previous night, still cluthing the box of blades, but no longer in his own clothes. The indecency of it all! Honestly! To strip a lady when she was unconscious was just unheard of! Stupid future and its stupid lack of any sort of propriety. At least it seemed someone might be dead according to the last announcement. That brightened his day a bit.

Getting out of bed before Mr. Grumpyface did, he hid the box of scalpels in his desk and sighed. His old glasses were gone, replaced with the ruddy circular pair and his clothes had been all but ruined the night before. He doubted he could do much for them either, since he'd been the one to rip the sleeve off. Such a shame, but it had kept him from getting permanent scars on his arms.

It wasn't long before the nurse came and Grell once again put on his lovely little play for her. Confused, bumbling and asking for a hair tie, he was perplexed by the little round elastic thing he received in return, but used it anyway to put his hair back. Led into the cafeteria, Grell realized he was the first one and took a bit of breakfast before finding a seat.

Fully armed, Beatrix left Maki alone in the room. She didn't know if her roommate was going to take the advice given and rest for the night, but the Bride didn't have the time or desire to make her point any stronger.

She was to meet SubZero and HK-47 in front of the Sun Room. Here's hoping they'll be able to sneak past anything that may be lying in wait. She'd like to do something productive and her encounter with Celes the previous night did not count.

Celes's meal had finished itself by the time the General got to dressing in her proper clothing. As an afterthought, she put on the overcoat to hide most of it. It would be in her best interests anyway; if some overzealous, fool patient tried to attack her while she was perfoming her tasks, the General would be quite incensed indeed. Besides, if they needed to go outside for any of the Radio woman's clues, then she'd need the coat anyway.

Celes tapped the toe of her boots against the floor and checked her corslette's ties for the last time. She was ready, it was time to go to the men's halls and ask for Xigbar's whereabouts.

Turning right at the end of the corridor, Ophelia squinted in the dark, trying to remember how this area had looked in the daylight. She could somewhat see a door to the next hall down at the end, though she was only able to make it out because she knew it was supposed to be there.

Not able to hear anyone in her way up ahead, the warrior sped up her walking pace as she made her way to the door.
