Nightshift 33: F21-30 Hallway
[F22]
The intercom startled Falis when it went off and thankfully, she'd set the newly crafted spear down or she might have jabbed a splinter into her palm. As it was, she was stading over her bed looking at all her weapons laid out upon it. One sharp spear, still stained with Eve's blood, one fresh spear, and a stake. Maybe she needed another stake. Nah... Namine should remember hers; Namine didn't forget things. This was why Falis liked the girl so much.
Her eyes moved to look at the intercom as the announcement continued, nodding as it pretty much conformed the whole ancient technology thing she'd been pretty certain of in teh first place. And since it seemed like it was on the fritz, whatever it did, that maybe the princess wasn't going to have to use her super-secret sealing Forland blood anytime soon. Maybe there was another princess around with special blood doing it for them.
What was her name? Jill? Jane? Whatever.
Now, if the people that were supposed to be showing up showed up soon. Bounty hunters had to be patient, but that didn't mean they liked waiting.

Re: F22
A girl's gotta have her fun and all.
The princess was please Namine found her greeting amusing, since she'd done it half for the girl's benefit anyways, and shot her a grin and a wink before turning back to the two men.
"Ah yes... " Falis took the bundle from Fwiffo - another stupid name so she thought - and leaned back against the desk and started going through the apples, checking their quality. There were a couple that were still a bit too fresh, but most would do. And then she got an idea, that tell-tale smirk that Namine could easily recognize sneaking briefly onto her face before she raised her intense eyes to the captain.
"These will do... just fine," she said, her naturally husky voice dropping just a bit as she met the captain's eyes. She took one of the apples and bit into it and let the juices run down her chin. Not once did she pull her eyes from Zelnick's. Falis knew her natural charm, when she utilized it, was only amplified being in this body. She was simply... curious.
Re: F22
So Miss Moonshine's name was Alita? Huh, pretty name, he thought, glancing back at her, then faithfully (in mind, if not in body, not that he was thinking about how he'd been unfaithful in the latter) amended it to, if not as pretty as Talana.
And then she met his eyes and took a very very sensuous bite out of an apple. Zelnick's brain seemed to hiccup for a moment-- she was very pretty-- but he shook it off. No way someone he'd just met was flirting with him, right? So he renewed his smile and chirped cheerily, "Good! I'm glad they meet your approval."
Re: F22
He hoped they'd be able to leave soon, now that they'd apparently fulfilled the Captain's mission to deliver the apples.
Re: F22
No, she had seen that before... Naminé did have to arch an eyebrow, because Alita was acting strangely like Larxene, that same flirtatious streak. Of course, when Larxene was acting like that, she was either snaring a cruel trap or she wanted something...
Re: F22
"Alita," she said as she drew close to the captain. "Princess Alita Forland." She casually pulled a few thick locks of her blonde hair back behind her shoulder and gave the captain her most... captivating smile. "I'll make sure to let you know when the moonshine is finished," she said.
"I'll do a small batch the quick and dirty way," she said as she reached out to run her hand up Zelnick's arm. "But the rest will take a while. I do like... to take my time with a good thing." Falis smiled up at the man again and took another bite of that apple.
GOD DOES EVERYONE WANT IN CAPTAIN'S PANTS *dead of laughing~*
"That would be great," he dithered, a blush rising in his cheeks, "and taking time does mean that it'll be better when it's done, after all, thanks for doing this Miss-- uh-- Princess," and the touch of her hand against his arm just made his blush hotter.
In the good way.
Alita was very pretty, and she couldn't have been any younger than he had been when he'd taken command of the Vindicator...
... and his mind was wandering someplace it shouldn't have, and Zelnick forcibly re-railed everything onto business. You're a military commander and your allies rely on you, he thought to himself, act like it.
"It's been a pleasure meeting you," he said, still blushing hotly and smiling a little dazedly, "but I need to get Fwiffo to another one of my allies. I hope you'll forgive me if I leave so soon?"
WHAT WILL ZEX THINK?!!
This thread is not appropriate for Nam. :[
Not because Alita was flirting, but because... what about Hokuto? Naminé had been sure that Hokuto was someone special to Alita - so what was she trying to do with Zelnick? Maybe she was just trying to get under his skin (as Larxene tended to do), but Naminé still couldn't help but worry.
"It's been a pleasure meeting you both," She smiled, deciding to wait for the two to leave before she would ask Alita about Hokuto. They didn't... fall out of love, did they?
Come now - a girl's gotta have some fun
"Indeed," she purred as she leaned into Zelnick just enough. "It's been quite the pleasure. And forgiveness is unnecessary; you'll make it up to me," she said, an enticing look in her crimson eyes as she stepped back from the captain.
"Stay safe. I'd hate to have to find another to share the moonshine with."
Set the trap, bait it properly and anything will walk into it when the time is right. Falis was willing to see how long it would take for Captain-Guy to spring it; she needed something other then killing Mozenrath to entertain her. At least she liked Zelnick, so the odds were more in the man's favor than he probably realized.
Heehee, well, at leaas beautiful warrior women are more Captain's type than creepy older men~
In a sudden burst of chivalry, and because he thought she'd probably understand the gesture, he bowed, hand over his heart. "I'll do my best," he promised fervently, and straightened. "Far be it from me to put a lady through such a trial."
Then, face still flushed bright and grinning as if enchanted, he saluted, took Fwiffo by the wheelchair, and left.

"Um..." Even so, she felt like she was entering dangerous territory. Perhaps it was best not to pry too much.
"Do you and Captain Zelnick... like each other, Alita?"

The princess turned when Namine stuttered a little and then raised an eyebrow at the girl's question, a small smile of amusement on her face. "I guess so," she replied with a shrug. "He brought the apples, is fun to tease and he seems to find me interesting. It's a beneficial situation, you know?"
She tilted her head a little. "Kinda an odd question to ask."

But that expression of love... it seemed so true!
"I guess you and Hokuto fell out of love?" She asked, with just a hint of sadness. Alita didn't look too upset, so perhaps it really wasn't that much of a big deal.
no subject
"Wh-- what the...?" The look of shock slowly mixed with confusion and disbelief. "Where did you get that idea? I was only flirting with Captain Guy. You know... harmless stuff for fun."
The princess plopped herself down on the floor before Namine and looked up at the younger blonde. She just didn't get where the girl was coming from. Didn't she know what flirting was and... well, Falis had made a big deal of claiming Hokuto with Willow and all...

Oh, was that what it was called? It made a little more sense now, but whatever Alita was doing with Zelnick, it wasn't anything serious. Or it didn't sound like it. What a relief!
"Oh, I'm sorry! I... I don't know much about that sort of stuff," Naminé shook her head, looking quite embarrassed. OK, she knew a little bit, but hopefully the kind of "flirting" that Alita did wasn't the same as the kind that Larxene did.
It was a good thing that Naminé defined "flirting" as "women who act seductively to get what they want from men", because she might have had another problem altogether with Alita flirting when she was technically already taken. Instead, she moved on to more important issues.
"Oh, I also wanted to ask... what's this 'moonshine' that you and captain Zelnick were talking about?"
no subject
Thankfully, Namine moved off of the subject of her flirting and onto the most important thing about this particular night - the beginnings of moonshine.
"Aa. Moonshine is a homemade drink using sugar, water and time. The sugar, usually found in either fruit," she said holding the half-eaten apple up, "or in corn is mashed up, put in a container with water and then stored in a dark warm place for a while so the sugar ferments and it mixes all together." She grinned. "We need to get the stuff for a still tonight."
no subject
"Ah, so that's why we're going to the kitchen." She assumed that they needed the water and the things to prepare the moonshine from, and then they just... had to wait.
"It sounds like a really good drink. Would it be OK if I tried some when it's done?"

The princess bounced up to her feet and took another bite of the apple. She gathered up her weaponry and then offered Namine the partially eaten apple if she wanted some, forgetting her princess manners. it was a perfectly good apple and it's not like she and Namine were strangers; she did almost kill the girl.
"I'm tired of waiting for my damn potential client," she said, her mouth full. "Fuck 'em. Let's go." This just meant she was going to raise her price.
no subject
"Ah... thank you," She blinked, taking the apple. Well, she didn't want to refuse Alita's good gesture, and then Alita decided it was best just to continue on ahead. With foul language, but...
She guessed it was the client's fault for waiting so late, and to tell the truth, Naminé didn't want to see if the possibility Alita raised earlier would come true or not so she nodded and gathered her things, a little awkwardly since she had to cradle the apple in her elbow (her hand was still in those splints, after all) as she grabbed the bag with her other hand.
"I'm ready!"
