Nightshift 33: F21-30 Hallway
[F22]
The intercom startled Falis when it went off and thankfully, she'd set the newly crafted spear down or she might have jabbed a splinter into her palm. As it was, she was stading over her bed looking at all her weapons laid out upon it. One sharp spear, still stained with Eve's blood, one fresh spear, and a stake. Maybe she needed another stake. Nah... Namine should remember hers; Namine didn't forget things. This was why Falis liked the girl so much.
Her eyes moved to look at the intercom as the announcement continued, nodding as it pretty much conformed the whole ancient technology thing she'd been pretty certain of in teh first place. And since it seemed like it was on the fritz, whatever it did, that maybe the princess wasn't going to have to use her super-secret sealing Forland blood anytime soon. Maybe there was another princess around with special blood doing it for them.
What was her name? Jill? Jane? Whatever.
Now, if the people that were supposed to be showing up showed up soon. Bounty hunters had to be patient, but that didn't mean they liked waiting.

Re: F23
"Evil clowns were yesterday," Angel said, catching the tail end of the conversation as he appeared at the doorway. "She won't be back."
He was almost positive she was a patient under Special Counseling and he'd been told enough about the topic to know that whatever happened tended to be a one-shot deal for each person. Unless there were more patients who disguised themselves as clowns in the institute. It was possible.
He stepped inside and closed the door behind him to prevent their conversation from drifting too far down the hallway. Anya could be...less quiet, sometimes. But it was good to see both her and Willow seemed fine, given the circumstances.
Setting the newly made axe down on the bed, he reached for the sheets and glanced at Willow. "Can I use this?"
He needed something to make a decent grip on the handle; the bare metal wasn't going to cut it. No doubt the staff would replace the torn sheets the next morning, the same way they went through the trouble of bandaging people up.
Re: F23
The vengeance demon looked up at Angel as soon as he entered. "Your blase attitude towards the clown is worrisome. You can't be sure she's gone," she insisted sternly. "There is no statute of limitations on clown vendettas."
"As for getting to the basement, I vote Sun Room. By now some poor sucker's probably already wandered in there and engaged whatever beast is guarding it. We may be able to sneak by unnoticed." She grinned enthusiastically at her two fellow Scoobies.
Re: F23
She looked over distractedly at his question, still trying to figure out what on earth they meant by evil clowns. "Yeah," she answered quickly. "By all means, take them." Her gaze moved slowly over to the battle axe lying on the bed. "Um... where did you...?" She stopped, thought about it, and shook her head. "Never mind. Sun Room?" she asked, turning abruptly to Anya. Willow wasn't quite sure about that, especially if another patient was going to be their unwilling distraction, but it did sound better than the courtyard with its... evil clowns. "If it's faster, then... I guess. Angel?"
no subject
He tore a strip of fabric off the sheet and began wrapping it around the axe's handle. "They only ever send each patient out once," he said instead. "She won't be back. But there's probably something else out there."
At Anya's suggestion, he frowned slightly. His first thought was that they couldn't just leave people to play the scapegoat like that, but it was true that the proportion of people here capable of taking care of themselves was significantly higher. Besides, he didn't want to get Anya or Willow trapped in any fights if he could help it, and staying behind while getting them to run away wasn't much help in a place like this, either, with monsters lurking at pretty much every corner.
"If they look like they don't need our help," he replied, "we'll go through."
no subject
"Yes," she agreed. "We will help all those in need!" That was... right, wasn't it? That was the Scooby thing to say?
"Now, to the Sun Room!" With that, she opened the door and headed out into the hall.
