Day 32: Sun Room (4th Shift)

It was rare that Homura's nurse try to persuade him to a scheduled activity, but then, it was rare that Homura didn't go. But the demi-god had plans, and the poor woman had little other choice but to leave in a huff as he once again settled himself near the bulletin board in the Sun Room.

His conversation with Kenren the previous shift had left the demi-god with a lingering sense of anxiety. Perhaps it was something only those from his own world could do, but none the less, he was all the more ready for night to begin now. Goals and memories, the truth of his past and the possibility of the future: all thoughts lingering on the forefront of his mind, more than enough motivation to move forward.

Impatience was something of a rush for an immortal, he'd discovered. Homura liked the feeling, the excitement even before he had arrived in this prison. And now while he waited, he savored it again, a yearning that shone so much brighter than the boredom of Heaven.

[Waiting for History Club Q&A time.]

No room number for the Princess. That knowledge, or lack thereof had Kurogane sighing as he entered the Sun Room. He hadn't been able to come up with anything for how little time there had been, but there wasn't much that could be done now. He didn't want her leaving her room for any reason, nor did he want her letting her door open so they could find her. The hallways were too dangerous, and there was no keeping monsters from entering a room, even if they were supposedly "safe".

As usual, he picked an empty couch and slumped into it. His plans had changed again now that the Princess had shown up. More things needed to be considered, like if the Kid and Mokona really were in the basement. He knew without a doubt that Mokona was somewhere, but as for Syaoran... he could still be stuck in transport or something ridiculous, not even in this world yet and no guarantee that he would show up. That was not good. And then there was the other option: that Syaoran was here, but was being held somewhere for torture.

Kurogane had to hope he'd yet to arrive.

Instead of trying to nap as he'd done earlier, he turned his eyes around the room. Another was there, some man he'd seen with Fai two Lunch periods ago. Just by looking, Kurogane did not see what reason Fai would have to speak to someone like him, unless of course he'd been annoying him. That was probably it. Some more glancing and he caught sight of a board tacked with papers. He'd seen people going up to it for some reason or another in days past, but hadn't paid it much mind. He was closer to it this time though and amazingly could see that there were messages on it. Might as well give it a look.

Sai's nurse was silent as she led him straight to the sun room after lunch, not even asking if he'd rather go elsewhere. Perhaps it was a sort of punishment in her eyes, though he couldn't care less. The few disappointed glares she aimed his way indicated how utterly put off she was that he'd gotten himself into trouble enough for a sedation. He knew it broke his good record. Would it be worth trying to gain it back?

She didn't even feel like keeping him steady long enough to lead him any further than one of the first couple sofas, and it wasn't until he was sitting that she finally said "Now I want you to think hard on what you did. The doctor had given you such a glowing report!"

The ninja had a hard time imagining that doctor saying anything particularly 'glowing,' but he let the woman think whatever she wanted. When he didn't answer her, she seemed to regret even those words, giving him a short pat on the head before leaving.

When she had gone, he slumped a little, thinking perhaps he could nap some before dinner. Maybe it would help the sedative get out of his system faster.

When everything went perfectly Mello loved the sensation of thought, of feeling his mind move so quickly and precisely that it balanced like a gyroscope atop his consciousness. He was no closer to achieving his goals than he'd been at breakfast, but now he was certain they were within his reach.

He latched onto two conversations as soon as he entered the sun room, then reviewed his future plans as he skimmed the message board. This time, he wouldn't let himself fall asleep. There was too much to accomplish.

And he'd start by reinforcing his relationships with his current allies.

If Mello noticed Sai's dazed expression when he dropped onto the couch beside him, he gave no outward indication. "How's the door coming?" he asked.

Like hell he was going to be spending any time in a room that contained musical instruments. Asch much preferred spending his time in a more quieter setting--especially since he still sported a bump on his head from getting whacked with that flashlight last night. Adding music (or people who only thought they could play music, as he assumed would be the case) to the mix would likely only result in a headache.

That was the major factor when the God-General chose the Sun Room over the Music Room. The former choice was bound to be quieter in the end, and it was certainly emptier than usual. Not that that was a problem; quite the contrary, actually. The redhead had no complaints about the room in that regard. It would lower the chance of having to put up with anyone, at any rate.

Asch took a seat on an empty couch, although it wasn't long before he laid down completely, his arms underneath his head. Night would be falling soon, so resting for the moment seemed the best idea.

The halls were as bland as the ceiling had been, and there was a distinct feeling that this place was set up to handle all sorts of strange cases of people. There were patients in similar outfits as he had wandering after nurses, so it seemed to be expected that a guide was necessary. The place was spotless, which was impressive given the meandering of patients and staff about the halls as he was directed to the Sun Room.

He was directed into a large open room with many windows (barred, was it?) and couches and tables. It looked quite pleasant and less bland as the halls, and there were not that many people here at the moment. He adjusted his glasses upon his nose and peered around, looking pleasant and nodding his head to the places that his nurse pointed out.

"Bulletin board is for patient communication. You can write notes to other people you know," she said, but seemed to avoid looking at him. She pointed out several other aspects before finally turning back to regard him fully. "When Dr. Landel calls, I will come to get you and take you to your assigned room for dinner. From there, you will go to bed."

Hohenheim nodded his head to the words, taking them in even as his attention was focused on the bulletin board across the way. He was certain all he really needed to know would be over there, and it was simply a matter of going through all those notes to find out what was relevent and what was simple chatter. He was certain he would find much of both, but it seemed quite nice to be able to lose himself in a little reading rather than first approach someone foreign. He could do that once he had a better handle on his situation... whatever that may really be.

He wandered over to the bulletin board and peered at the various differences in script. He quickly scanned through a few notes and the replies before pushing the pieces of paper up to read what was underneath. It only took a small bit of rooting to find out the basics of this place, and it seemed there were a few rebellious groups of patients who indicated this place was just a lie.

Interesting indeed.

He perused the contents of the bulletin board that he could, taking a few notes for himself. A mental institute to discredit the lives people once knew... what a novel concept!

Something about the older guy peering at the bulletin board caught Farfarello's attention. He was probably new, since Farfarello hadn't seen him before, so maybe it was his attitude that was so curious--he seemed more interested than angry, fearful or confused. He might be able to keep Farfarello entertained until the shift ended, even. "Hey, new guy."

[waiting to get pwnt by Shion]

Naminé chose to retreat into the Sun Room, preferring to relax before the night came. She supposed she should have looked around for people to recruit for their little adventure to the basement, but Alita sounded like she already had choice people in mind. Naminé didn't know anyone to ask anyway. Most people already had plans for the night.

So the girl simply sat on the couch, debating on what she should do. Maybe she should ask for details on the Bulletin Board, since it sounded like quite a few people had already visited the basement. Then at the very least, they wouldn't be going in blindly.

That sounded like a good idea. Naminé stood up and wandered over, pen in hand and ready to write her inquiry.

Well, this room sure was bright. Shion was surprised to see a few people wandering around here and there, but other than that, there really wasn’t anything of interest to the teen. Something that looked like a bulletin board hung on one wall … but other than that? A pretty boring room.

Sighing to herself, Shion moved towards said bulletin to look at what was written, and if there was anything she could use. Perhaps a bit more information about the place. Anything would be helpful to her, really. Was this place really like a waiting room for another life? Another chance? So far, it just looked like a big load of dull! The teenager pouted to herself as her head whipped around back and forth to check her surroundings, for some sign of anything –

Perhaps that was why when she suddenly collided with what felt like another body, she reacted the way she did. Letting out a slight shriek, Shion tipped forward for a moment before rocking back on the heels of her feet, soon enough landing rather ungraciously on her bottom on the floor.

“Ah, what happened?” opening her eyes, Shion quickly clicked on her innocent façade, her lips curling up into a pout as she stared at the person who had made her fall. “Oh! Are you all right? I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

Perhaps she could get information out of the blonde haired child.

[Freeee! \o/]

As much as Heiji liked music, he liked being lazy even more. So it was no surprise when he opted to lay down in the Sun Room on a couch, his wheelchair standing by faithfully. He hated that damn thing. It wasn't even that deep of a cut!

Okay, so maybe he was exaggerating. It was probably pretty bad. Rest was good now, though. He'd be fit as a fiddle soon enough.

Leon opted for the Sun Room instead of the Music Room simply because the smaller room would no doubt feel more crowded than the larger. He found someone who didn't seem too energetic, and took a seat by them. Hopefully that would count as being social--he wasn't avoiding other people, at least--because he was feeling pretty mentally worn out from his efforts throughout the day.

That had been an interesting lunch, even if the food was lacking. Miles wasn't in the mood to go to the music room, and had once again failed to persuade his nurse to let him to go to the library instead. He settled for the Sun Room, taking a seat in a large chair, again near a window.

He yawned a bit, stretching his arms above his head. What he wouldn't give for tea at the moment. He considered asking, but had the feeling the request, as reasonable as it was, would once again be refused.

It seemed that the room was quiet, at least. It was fine with him, though if anyone needed information, or if one of his...it was still hard to think of people here as friends. Acquaintances? Allies? Those were better words, and if any of them wanted to chat, it would also be fine, even welcomed.

The music room seemed like it could be rather crowded, something which Allelujah did not want to deal with at the moment, not after his conversation with that girl had left him so on edge. She'd known. Somehow she'd known about him, about what he was. Left him feeling vulnerable like he hadn't in a long while. It was much more difficult to feel vulnerable when you had sheets of reinforced metal between you and the other person.

He wandered into the Sun Room, looking around for any of the people who had offered to meet him. He had little idea who he was looking for. It was difficult to recognise them only from the sparse descriptions on the bulletin board. But after a few moments he spotted someone who might be one of them. If not, he could just apologise and go elsewhere. But it was worth a try, even if he wasn't entirely certain about whether he could trust anything anyone said.

He approached the man with a tentative smile. "Mr Edgeworth?" he asked quietly.

[[Unknowingly waiting for a certain Murder Princess]]

Being a scholar was good for many things; Raine felt a little better after the debate on magic and other worlds, just because it was something new and interesting to think about.

After all she'd been through, she was good at pushing unwanted feelings aside; she just didn't feel like dealing with the sense of loss. Knowing she hadn't been abandoned didn't help as much as she would have hoped, but she was still hanging in there.

Having something to do helped, so she settled on a couch with a book. She'd find her other friends later, if they didn't find her.

[identity profile] himetsuru.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
As soon as Falis found out why the nurse was asking her about music, the princess decided to not go to the music room. True, she genuinely disliked the Sun Room but being stuck in an even smaller room full of people playing music instruments they probably couldn't do reminded her too much of some of the town performances she had to attend because that's what the princess was supposed to do. Besides, a comfy couch sounded nice given the slight throbbing of her ribs.

The bounty hunter's eyes lit upon that woman from the place where she woke up in after fighting the needlely-bladed monsters with the boys. What was it Hokuto had called her? A healer. Yes, that was it. Falis had wanted to ask one of those people about resurrection.

The problem was, she couldn't remember why. Regardless, she figured she'd recall at some point during the conversation, so she walked over to where the woman was sitting with a book.

"Oi! Hey you!" she called out as she got closer; it wasn't like she had anything else to call her. "Tell me what you know about resurrection." It should have been a question, but it came out a little bit more like an order than the princess intended. Oh well.

After Hokuto dragged the details of this morning's embarrassing encounter out of him, Subaru really didn't feel much like company. He thought about asking the nurse if he could go back to his room and lie down, but decided maybe that was a little bit extreme. Instead, he just found an empty armchair in the Sun Room and curled up there.

After dealing with the board, Kurogane was about to return to his seat, but found someone he recognized in a close by armchair. It was that boy from the first night. Subrau, wasn't it? "Hey," he said simply, glancing down at him from behind. What was with him curling up like that? Was he sick?

[for Wolfram and Rude]

Damn those nurses. Bitch had the worst timing ever, to drag him away right then, and during one of those shifts where patients ended up split in different areas, too.

He headed for one of the couches without paying much attention to where he was going, distracted by both his conversation with Dean and the sudden of appearance of...fuck, his head was going to explode.

He should've been elated by this news, except he wasn't. And that annoyed him.

[identity profile] arrogantflame.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
While Shana had managed to help distract him for a short time, Wolfram's poor mood wasn't completely driven away, and as soon as he was led away from lunch it came back in full force. He decided to head back to the sun room rather than find out what the music room was like, knowing at least that he could possibly find a couch to sit and think or look for new posts on the bulletin board.

Lost in his own world of frustration, he wasn't paying all that much attention to where he was walking, nor did he notice that the couch he was aimlessly heading for was already occupied.

All he caught was a speck of red from the corner of his eye, and by the time he tried to stop himself, his balance was already gone. In an extremely un-princelike manner, he tumbled forward, finding himself in said redhead's lap.

For a moment he was too stunned to move.

As much as Crane hated to admit that it could be true, his conversation with Light during lunch had only cemented what he'd heard from GLaDOS and, briefly, Harley. The more he thought about the predicament he was in, the more it fouled his mood, even more so since he knew he had absolutely no idea what he was going to do this first night.

He didn't know the layout as well as he would have in Arkham, but it was also dangerous to go out to get used to it without a meat shield because of the monsters. At least he had a good idea of what kinds of things to expect, but that wouldn't do him much good without anything to strike back with. Then there was the problem that only one hand worked for him, thanks to GLaDOS. It was an absolutely wonderful situation to be in, and Crane was firmly convinced that he would have rather gotten caught, beaten by the Bat again, and stuck back in Arkham. At least then he would have been less likely to get a fork stuck through his hand, and he definitely wouldn't have had to worry about any monsters.

For now, though, he had to try and think of something productive to do during the night. Instead of going to the Music Room, Crane opted to stay in the Sun Room, attempting to relax on one of the couches and think up what to do about this mess.

[master of fear meets master of...hunger? y/n?]

Gluttony hadn't liked that the mean man was so mean to him, but what he liked even less was that he hadn't seen Lust all day! Normally he saw her wandering around, but usually she was too far away for him to get too, or he saw someone tasty that Lust said he could eat, and the nurses had sedated him, or he saw her write in her pretty handwriting on the bulletin boards to someone or another, but he'd been looking for her all day and so far hadn't seen her.

That was bad. He didn't like that.

So he went to the Sun Room, where he could see someone if they entered the music room, and that way he could remain there and wait and it would be good. And he saw a man quietly thinking on a couch. If the man was on the couch, that meant he might have seen her, and that would be good. He approached the man, wailing plaintively. "Where's my Lust?" he cried to the man.

Though he would never admit it, checking up with Fullmetal had been relieving. While he knew that he hardly had to worry about Edward, it was an inclination he couldn't kick so easily. Ed was still a child, after all, and there were certain things he probably still wasn't mentally prepared for. And this institute had a tendency to be mentally taxing, sometimes even more than physically so.

In any case, he now had yet another appointment set up, though this time he was going to have to wait for whoever it was to find him. Roy figured that sticking around in the Sun Room would be his best bet, seeing how all the patients would have to pass through it to get to the Music Room, anyway. He didn't mind the Music Room, necessarily, but sometimes it was difficult to focus on a conversation with all the extra noise (other than other patients' talking, which they were all used to blocking out by now).

He found an empty couch and sat down, making sure to watch the other migrating patients in hopes of picking out whoever was looking for him.

[BAW mun fails for forgetting this. D:]

The conversation over lunch had left the doll thinking--not so much about Landel's Institute and practical information like that, but Daemon Sadi himself and the terms of the relationship Ren had seemingly built with the other man. It was normal (debatably) for someone to worry over a girl like Ojou, since she looked like a tiny little girl that needed a certain amount of care, but Daemon appeared to be the type of person who offered a more genuine protection than most.

Nice that he worried about him and Ojou so much, however... Ren didn't know precisely what he hesitated over. Most likely it was probably experience that told him friendships would wind up causing some trouble down the road.

It wasn't something that worried him so much that he couldn't put it aside for another time. He'd only been in the "music room" once before, but he headed for the Sun Room alongside his nurse--grabbing one elbow behind his head and stretching out his back--with the intent to stay. The guy named Roy Mustang had agreed to meet with him, after all, and keeping an eye on folks was kind of Ren's specialty: he kept in mind the physical description he'd picked up here and there.

"Hi," started Ren, approaching the older man where he sat. The doll was relatively sure he'd found the right guy and didn't bother to hide that assumption. Dipping his head a little in greeting, he said, "I'm sorry I'm a little late. I'm Ichimoto Ren, the one who wanted to meet with you."

After a quick lunch consisting of him trying not to eat while his nurse reprimanded him, Okita escaped from the cafeteria and practically ran into the Sun Room to escape as soon as the shifts changed. The food was greasy, unrecognizable as anything edible and had been topped with pork. Like he was really going to eat that. His nurse had given him hell for it, but now he was free. Glancing around the room, Okita didn't spot Hijikata, but he did see Heiji already talking to someone and one other person he hadn't spoken to in quite awhile. Skipping across the room and leaving his nurse and that nasty food far behind, Okita moved over to the bulletin board and smiled at the demi-god seated beside it. "Waiting for someone, are we?"

[waiting for Angel and then Ashton]

Willow wasn't quite sure where she was supposed to meet the guy from the bulletin board, since they were allowed to be in either the Sun Room or the Music Room. But after a quick look around showed he wasn't there yet - or at least, nobody who looked like he said he did was there yet - she decided to stay in the Sun Room so she could keep an eye on the people filtering in.

He knew what she looked like. It shouldn't be that hard for them to catch each other, right?

Taking a deep, calming breath, Willow sat down on an empty couch near a window. She hadn't realized what happened to her was so... widespread. But as much as she didn't want to talk about it, Willow did need to know what to expect, so that she didn't hurt anyone else. And anyway, it probably would help her to talk to someone about what happened. Someone who didn't know her, and had gone through the same thing.

[identity profile] blurred-divide.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Finally. After being shuttled around for an entire day, Angel only just now managed to catch Willow before something else managed to sideline him. She'd seemed all right from the few glimpses he'd caught of her earlier on, but he still wanted to actually talk with her before nightfall.

Sitting down on the couch across from her, he gave her a small smile. "Hey. How're you doing?"

[unwittingly waiting for The Bride]

Zoro hadn't gotten the nap he'd been hoping to get lunch time. Though he certainly didn't begrudge his captain the conversation, he figured he may as well find himself a comfortably dark corner to hide away in until his next meal.

The music room held promise-- Brook was most likely already there and playing an instrument-- but though Zoro was curious to hear their new musician play his urge to nap won out as it always did. An empty couch was ideal and the swordsman wasted no time finding himself one.

He slept sitting upright with both arms crossed over his chest.

[identity profile] quickdrawbkiddo.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Beatrix headed into the Sun Room, her eyes scanning the area. She saw Mion talking to a blonde girl and thought about going over to talk to her ward as something seemed... off about Mion, but her attention was soon taken up by that man from the other day. He'd been watching her and Skuld the previous day and the Bride wanted to make sure it wasn't the girl he'd been interested in. Fixing the ends of the bandages one both her arms so they didn't pull on her burns, she moved toward where he was sitting.

That would be a very bad thing for him.

Circling around the outside of the room, Beatrix approached the man as he appeared to be slumbering from behind and to the side. She wasn't going to sneak up on him, so she leaned against the back of the couch, turned slightly toward the man. She fixed him with her cold blue eyes.

"Tell me your interests were in me and not the girl," she said, her voice cool.

[[Reserved for Momo]]

Well. Signum wasn't any closer to getting any questions answered, but she couldn't complain that her meals had been boring. Their origins weren't the only strange things about the other prisoners.

But with the day wearing on she needed to concentrate on getting her orders and information on the basement, so she headed for the Sun Room and planted herself firmly in front of the bulletin board. It was here that she could learn the most.

[identity profile] hajike-tobiume.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Momo decided against the Music Room and decided to head into the Sun Room to finally get another look at the bulletin board. Because of her pointless therapy session, the shinigami hadn't gotten a chance to read it since she reported to Hitsugaya that morning.

She was thinking about Nakago and those experimentations when she started toward the board. It took her a moment to notice the tall pink-haired woman standing right in front of it, but once she did, Momo stopped right where she was.

Signum.

For a brief moment, the shinigami wondered if she was imagining her friend's return and contemplated checking the woman's spirit threads to make sure. That thought was quickly dismissed because there was no need. It was Signum. There was no doubt in her mind that the knight was right there. Momo took a few slow steps toward the woman, her mood starting to skyrocket. Elated, her pace increased and in short time she was practically running toward the knight.

"Signum!" Momo called out a moment before she reached the knight's side. The small shinigami, broad smile on her face, gave a bit of a hop and threw her arms around her friend, hugging her tight. Not once did she hesitate. Not once did she even think about the vulnerability she had when hugging another like she had once before. It didn't matter. Her friend was back and appeared to be alright. Momo was happy.

Kunzite walked into a rather crowded sun room - at least, a bit more crowded than he had seen it previously - and headed immediately to the bulletin board. A soft curse escaped his lips; he had not meant to miss his scheduled encounter with Homura, but an ill feeling in his stomach - no doubt brought on by that odd-tasting melon - sidelined him for much of the shift. He thus hoped that the man would be around again now; even armed with an extensive map of the place, his few excursions during the night provided him with few answers. Granted, the company he followed could have been better, but this ignorance was primarily his own fault. If he wanted answers, he would need to properly cooperate with others; using people here was out of the question, at least for the immediate future. This "History Club" surely seemed like a good place to start.

He saw Homura instantly: an anxious yet impatient individual, his eyes colored startlingly differently - more so than he expected - with his back to the wall at one side of the board. Kunzite walked to the man calmly, stopping a few feet in front of him and bowing. "You are Homura?" he asked, making sure he had the right individual. "I am Kunzite, and I apologize for missing our previously arranged rendezvous."

Sanji entered the Sun Room and at once went about finding a good place to sit where Nami could see him easily once she came in. (Not that he was all that hard to miss to begin with, but he wanted to make extra sure...

Standing on a chair again wasn't an option, of course. His wounds still ached a bit from the last time. He was sure she'd be drawn right to him, anyway. His persona was just that magnetic.

[identity profile] navigating.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The Sun Room found Nami somewhat bewildered today. What a strange girl she'd spoken to, saying pirates were a thing of the past. Of course, it hadn't seemed as if she was from the Grand Line, but no matter.

She'd said she'd meet Sanji today for a quick rundown of all that had happened, though, so she left the lunch room quickly, having eaten her fill, and entered the Sun Room. She'd get her answers with a side of flattery.

Of course she spotted him quickly it was easy, what with the hearts in his eyes and approached, stride businesslike as always, greeting her nakama with a friendly grin and a wave. "Nice acrobatics earlier, but we don't have time to jump around and get injured during the day."

Turning down the offer to go to the music room, Broolyn chose the sun room in order to keep tabs on the bulletin board. (Not that he was anxious about figuring out his plans for the night. Not at all.) It wasn't as crowded as he'd expected it to be, and many of the patients looked exhausted.

He hadn't given it much thought, used to having his sleep forced upon him, but how much rest did people really get here? Being out all night and all day? If it was all night. Perhaps they were forcefully knocked out in order to get some sleep? Such a confusing thing to think about. He didn't even know what it felt like to be truly sleepy. He was sure he'd find out.

As tempting as the Music Room was, Skuld still hadn't seen Brooklyn in a while; at least he shouldn't be too hard to find, although this place had a lot more white-haired people than she was used to.

When she spotted him, "Hi. Did you ever think of what you wanted?" It might not be the best way to start a conversation, but she kind of needed to know.

[identity profile] forthewinry.livejournal.com 2008-05-25 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Winry made notes of all of the rooms (nearly too many to keep track of) that they passed by on the way to the sun room, and surveyed the other patients' appearances. So this was supposed to be a mental hospital? A few patients looked injured as well, bandaged and... some of them appeared very strange. That unnerved her deeply. She remembered overlooking notes from military records; encrypted details of chimeras and other human experiments. She had to get out of here.

There was a bulletin. She could write there, although the notes that the patients wrote eachother were almost certainly monitored. She couldn't imagine them being there for any other reason than to let the staff keep an eye on their shennanigans. And she probably couldn't just drop names, lest she leave more individuals to be hunted down and identity-robbed.

Maybe there was somebody she knew here. There were some helpful soldiers out there. She could explain the trouble she was in.

A heavy realization hit her. Ed had, by all records, simply 'disappeared', and the government claimed not to know anything about it. But Ed was a deserter; she hated to think of what might have happened to him if he were to return... if he was caught... Ed could be held prisoner. She'd thought of it before, but never supposed he would ever let himself get caught. Damn it all, then how was she supposed to find him? They wouldn't put him in the same facility with all of these other captives, least of all one he could plan and collaborate with. She really needed to think. She found a seat on the couch and tried not to look worried. The more she could act friendly, the less they would suspect.

Kagura was glad that she'd been able to speak with Bridget and was feeling at least a little bit better, so she decided to try talking with some new people. After meeting with Tamaki, she was a little worried about talking with other males, especially with how her curse seemed to turn itself on and off. It was too much to worry about, so she picked the closest girl and hoped she wasn't as crazy as some of the other females here.

"Ah... h-hello," she said shyly. "Are... you new?"

Shito doubted he wanted anything to do with the 'music room', since it would probably consist of too many people trying to play too many things at the same time, with little or no skill. Besides, the message board was in the Sun Room, so that was where Shito wanted to be.

After responding to the 'History Club' message, Shito found a spot that wasn't too crowded and settled in to rest for a bit. It had been a trying day, thus far.

[♥ free things.]

Having briefed the room a couple times before, Haseo had developed a habit of only coming to the Sunroom to unwind and get some feeling of being outside---Actual sunlight being unusual and all. Other than lounging around the room didn't seem to serve any other significant purpose. Strolling into the entrance-way, Haseo looked around in a disinterested manner. 'Now what? ' He happened to glance in the direction of one of the many room occupants as they busied themselves with the board. Actually, quite a few people had walked into the room and right up to that board thing. What was so interesting about it? The quickest way to find out would be to ask one of the people who used it, so he waited for one of the people who wrote something to wander away before following them.

Haseo decided to approach one of the persons who had sat down in a lonesome part of the room. After striding across the room in that direction, He stopped a few feet away from a blue-haired individual. "Hey." Haseo shifted his weight onto one foot as he stood in place. "You just put a message on that board, didn't you?"

Ashton found himself rather twitchy as he was led to the Sun Room. He'd kept to himself most of the day, doodling pictures of barrels in his notebook. Somehow he felt a little bit guilty about the previous night, as if his sleeping had somehow messed up the nightshift plans. Which it probably had. He hoped the Colonel would give him another assignment.

Right now he had to wait for his post-lunch date. Except it wasn't really a date, but it was a meeting with a girl, so... Ashton was a little nervous. He was generally nervous meeting new people anyway, but this was weird. They were about to discuss things he hadn't really wanted to talk in detail about for days.

But he had to be here for his fellow patients! He had to help in any way he could, right?!

The swordsman took a deep breath and popped down on the couch, tapping nimble toes in front of him in a steady rhythm. He had rhythm. He had music. He had his - well, that was certainly enough of that little tune, wasn't it.

As much as the music room sounded relaxing, Cloud would prefer the quiet and familiarity of the Sun Room. His strange encounter with Brook had left him wanting to have a little time by himself, if that were even possible in a place like this. It had been nice to meet someone of such unrelenting enthusiasm. Now it seemed a good time to consider what he might do for tonight.

He also had that sinking feeling of being forced to take medication again. His brain was still fuzzy about what he had done the previous night, and he was not looking for a repeat of memory loss. Has it been the medication or had it been something else entirely?

Perhaps he would have to find Brooklyn and inquire about where they had gone together that night. Surely Brooklyn would remember. He spied the other man speaking with a young woman, and he decided that it was not his place to intrude on their private conversation.

Instead, he wandered over to peer out the window. It seemed nice enough, and he hoped to be able to get out tonight for a bit.

In typical Diva fashion, she gravitated to the nearest male in sights, knowing them for only a few things, and mostly to be useful to her. She was still light of foot, even covered in injuries from head to toe, and she easily skipped ahead of her nurse (always ignored).

Tapping Cloud on the arm, the girl said, "I need help," at the same time she pointed back at the bulletin board with her free hand.

[waiting for Renji]

The music room sounded like a poor place to meet, with all the musical instruments going off in different areas of the room played by individuals of varying skills and levels of tone deafness. Instead Hitsugaya waited on a couch near the entrance, planning to speak with the vice captain as soon as he had the chance. While he waited, he studied the list of names carefully, planning the night's assignments.

After several hours of laying around and feeling utterly miserable, Renji still didn't feel exactly right, but whatever had hit him had passed. As he followed the nurse to the Sun Room, he made a mental note to not eat the waffles again, just in case.

He found Hitsugaya easily in the room and sat down near him. "Sir."

He had been thinking it ever since his meeting with Ken and all throughout lunch--what the hell. What the hell was going on, where was this place, where was Kurikara, where was Tsuzuki and did he mention what the hell was going on--because maybe he should have put emphasis on that. It wasn't everyday he was kidnapped and had his abilities dampened to the point where he couldn't hear anyone even if they were right next to him.

It disturbed Hisoka on one too many levels, even more so considering this wasn't a test. There was no way out of this one and Hisoka didn't even know what 'this one' was!

The boy fought the urge to glare at every thing in the vicinity of the room, how could everyone be so relaxed about this? Were they resigned or did they just not know what was happening to them? He didn't know who was responsible for this mess, but he needed to find out so he could work on fixing it and maybe bash their head in.

...Investigation first, though.

[mind a random samurai~?]

Hijikata had not appreciated the idea of a 'music room.' Sure, some of the people here might be musically trained; but even in a room full of musicians, everyone playing something different would just lead to cacophany.

And this place made his head hurt badly enough.

He was pleased to note, when he reentered the Sun Room, that Souji was already here; so was Homura, talking to him, and two other men he didn't recognize. Well, he would leave them to their conversation for now. Those were probably the new recruits that Homura had mentioned.

Instead, he scanned the room for any other way to occupy his time. Most of the others seemed to have formed their little groups already, talking about the weather, or the food, or what they planned to kill tonight. He could always nap on a couch, but with nerves keyed up and waiting for the night, a rest didn't appeal.

He was pleased to spot, at last, someone who wasn't busy. A boy, frail build obvious even under the baggy Western clothes all of them were forced to wear; but the look of concentrated fury he was half-hiding sparked Hijikata's approval. Without anything better to do, he walked towards the youth.

"Waiting for someone?"
