Day 32: Sun Room (4th Shift)

It was rare that Homura's nurse try to persuade him to a scheduled activity, but then, it was rare that Homura didn't go. But the demi-god had plans, and the poor woman had little other choice but to leave in a huff as he once again settled himself near the bulletin board in the Sun Room.

His conversation with Kenren the previous shift had left the demi-god with a lingering sense of anxiety. Perhaps it was something only those from his own world could do, but none the less, he was all the more ready for night to begin now. Goals and memories, the truth of his past and the possibility of the future: all thoughts lingering on the forefront of his mind, more than enough motivation to move forward.

Impatience was something of a rush for an immortal, he'd discovered. Homura liked the feeling, the excitement even before he had arrived in this prison. And now while he waited, he savored it again, a yearning that shone so much brighter than the boredom of Heaven.

[Waiting for History Club Q&A time.]

"Yeah, if you're used to fighting without weapons," Skuld nodded. "There are blades meant to be used in..." She stopped and looked around. "Um. Maybe we should sit down." Yes, the resident goddess was scared of the nurses--something she wouldn't admit even if Urd threatened her with THAT punishment.

Once they were somewhere more out of the way, she said, "There are blades you can use in brawls--for punching, not just for slashing. They're small, so it'd be a cinch to make two."

And maybe it wouldn't nearly knock her out...

Brooklyn looked thoughtful, rubbing his chin. He'd probably still keep the shovel around, but something for his fists definitely seemed usable. The fighting style he used as a gargoyle wouldn't work here, seeing as he no longer had the raw brute force necessary to back it up.

"I think that's good," he nodded, taking her word for hoe well they'd work. "What'll you need me to get you for them?" And she'd most likely want some form of payment. What did people use for the common exchange here, anyway?

"Just sink pipes; those are the easiest place to get metal. Um, as for how much you'll need..." Skuld had yet to actually measure the parts of the sink to calculate the amount of metal each one contained. She'd do some quick measuring later--she didn't think the nurses would take very kindly to it if she sat on the bathroom floor and started taking notes on what she saw.

"Probably at least two sinks' worth of pipes. I'd get three, to be safe." The handles could be hollow if need be, which saved a little metal and weight, but this was one time she should probably avoid cutting down on mass; heavy hand grips meant more powerful punches.

Her knowledge of physics really came in handy here, and she had studied weapons before. It was seriously too bad she didn't have the power to make a cannon right now, because that could really come in handy.

Then again, if all the alchemists worked together... hmm.

"Sink pipes, huh?" Brooklyn looked skeptical. Sinks could get... rather disgusting, and with this reduced human strength he wouldn't be able to tear them from the wall as easily. Tools would be a necessity, and where was he supposed to get those?

More importantly, how was he going to get those supplies if he was going with Peter tonight? Especially if Peter's brother was coming along... They'd be sure to have their own plans. "I might not be able to get them to you tonight," he frowned. "But I'll get stuff together as soon as I can."

"Uh... okay," Skuld blinked. "But taking the sinks apart isn't that hard; I did it. If you kick them enough you can just pull them apart with your hands the rest of the way."

If he couldn't make it, though, it wasn't like she'd be left idle. She could contact somebody else if she had to, and obviously they'd be very glad to get bumped up. "Any idea when you'll know if you can make it?"

"Really?" Brooklyn went a bit red in the face. If this girl could do it, then he could too, right? Male humans were supposed to be physically stronger than the female ones, weren't they? He'd just have to give it a shot. "Okay. Thanks."

As for when he could make it, however... "I have no clue." He shook his head. "My plans tonight are still in the works. So, uh... Don't worry about waiting on me, I guess. Do whatever else you need to do."
