Nightshift 26: F-Block Hallway
[From here.]
Shining the flashlight around the corner, Rukia didn't see any other patients around, which was fine with her at the moment. She wanted to get to Colonel Mustang quickly, and hopefully Renji wouldn't take too long to meet her...
Jogging along quietly, she continued on.

Rukia made her way into the F-block, taking the familiar path to her the hallway in which her room was located.

As she stepped into the second, larger hallway, Ami nervously noticed that she seemed to be one of the only people wandering around. Maybe I should have just stayed in my room? Panic started to build up but she forced it down. Don't be silly! she scolded herself mentally. You're a sailor senshi and you've faced a lot worse than dark, empty corridors. Steeling herself once more, Ami waited close to the hallway she had just stepped out from for Usagi to appear. Not wanting to draw attention to herself, she kept the flashlight off, and listened.
[Waiting for Usagi]

"Ami!" Usagi called out as quietly as she could as she jogged over to her friend, this time without falling on her face. Ami had said they would be meeting up with other people, but Usagi wished they had more time to talk alone.

If Axel didn't know better he'd have to say that this block smelt more pleasant than the others, but maybe it was just him. Either way, he knew he was getting closer to his destination. The redhead could only hope that Sora didn't pull something stupid and sweep Kairi up without him knowing. If that were the case, then he'd have to make sure to pick the brunet up and drop him off the railing he'd seen from the Sun Room.

Anise could see the lights of other flashlights. Were they all other patients? She wondered if the nurses and staff came out at night, too. All the more reason to hurry, right? Waving her own flashlight around playfully, she continued left.

By then they reached the doorway to the next hallway, and Jade found himself pushing through and holding the door open for Anise to enter as well.
"Well, yes." Jade chuckled in response, but his grin disappeared into something calmer as he took the girl's words into consideration. So it was just as he expected, so it wasn't something he should've prided himself in. In fact, his reaction was quite the opposite, rubbing his thumb against the bottom of his chin while he contemplated.
"You aren't the only one suffering from this." He finally answered. "Luke isn't that much farther than you, his memory only stretches as far as the Tower of Rem."

That's right--Asch had said something like that, too. "So our memories are messed up?" Then between her duel and now were a year's worth of memories she had completely forgotten? It was an uncomfortable thought, but it looked like it was the truth; she was going to have to get used to it. The colonel wasn't there to listen to her worries or console her, after all.
Come to think of it, what was the colonel there for? She had followed him back to the F Block hall, but to her knowledge, there wasn't much there besides the women's bedrooms. What kind of reason could he have to go there? Might as well ask.
"Um, where are we going? This is the way to the women's rooms, right?" She gasped, dramatically. "Ah! Don't tell me you have a date for tonight!" Even the colonel made a good subject for teasing sometimes.
...Unless it really was true.

"We'll just have to see what's available." Axel responded to Kairi's question, opening door to the next Hallway for her before exiting himself. He couldn't help but sigh lightly at her next one, but it wasn't like he could blame her. They didn't have as many people this time, and he was actually concerned for Kairi's well being in a way, so there wasn't any chance for a diversion.
"When I say to, you run." It was a simple enough request, but the look on his face would've told her that he was completely serious.

“You think you can run for longer than a few seconds?” and she smiled up to him sweetly.

Excel snuck down the hall and turned out her flashlight the moment she saw people. She mustn't be seen, she decided. Now was not the time for recruits. It was time to be sneaky and search out information. "Hail IlPalazzo," she declared softly as she slunk down the hall

Max slipped out in the hallway, sparing only a brief glance at the others before moving on. She wasn't worried about fighting, not yet. The doctor had given them the location of the main problems, after all, but she was after a bigger fish.
Not slowing down, she kept to the shadows and hurried through.

"You'll have to introduce me," Sakura commented casually as they walked. She always had interest in meeting new allies, and a few friendly faces to call familiar wouldn't hurt either. There was no sense of urgency, despite that distinctly heavy feeling in the air, so the kunoichi just walked now, ever-alert regardless.

even a grump like Heero, but she wouldn't tell Sakura that.[to here (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/185195.html?thread=12747883#t12747883)]

There were definitely a few more people in here than there had been in the last hallway they'd been in, and Peony was delighted as he and his subject turned the corner. Girls. One, two, three.. oh yes~
Although his heart only lay in one place, his eyes could wander, and wander they did. He was a fan of all women, but some of the beauties they kept here were exceptional. If a little young. But he'd totally date every single one of them in a few years. Yeah!
He'd just finished answering Gailardia's question, and he couldn't help but wonder why the circumstances seemed so strange to the other blond. He thought they'd already cleared up any issue of the 'condition' between them.

"Your Majesty, that all happened a year ago." He didn't want to worry the older man, but he couldn't exactly keep it from him, either. Knowing Peony, he wouldn't be that bothered by it in the first place, but he deserved to know either way.
As for the matter of females, there were certainly a few around, but they all seemed busy and he doubted they would have any reason to head over unless Peony decided to beckon them or something. Hopefully something that cruel wouldn't occur to the other blond. Guy was crossing his fingers, anyway.

Flashlight in hand, Bella continued to peer around. This place was kinda creepy during the night, though that much was pretty blatant. Frowning, she continued on her way, keeping an eye out for her destination.
If only she knew she had just walked passed it.

She darted silently over to the women's bathrooms. Hopefully Rena would be here soon.

Rena came bounding down the hallway, silently glad their meeting place wasn't too far from her room. She was doubly happy when she caught sight of Jean by the women's bathrooms. The girl wasn't that late.
"Good evening, Jean-san," said Rena as she paused just in front of the woman. "I'm sorry if I'm late. I...must have slept in."

Utena lingered for a moment in the hall; perhaps going out on her own wasn't the best idea. Another person might need to be protected, of course, but... well, two heads were, as the saying went, better than one. For the moment, indecision stopped her cold.

Something moved, and she tensed, trying to remind herself that she'd been through worse and lived. Her light cast a broad beam down the corridor, and she whispered herself, almost like a prayer to God,
"Utena, give me strength."

The familiar path would take Ashe and her companion into the larger hallway that connected to all of the female "patients'" rooms. As usual, there were several figures making plans or coming together for a particular excursion. Ashe paid them little heed as she continued, blue eyes darting around to be sure that nothing dangerous currently lurked in the shadows.
"It would be most efficient if you could watch the back," she said softly over her shoulder. "That way neither of us should be forced to split our attentions."

"Sure," Nadine said, rolling her eyes in the darkness. She glanced over her shoulder and saw nothing but dark hallway. Just like last night. But it felt all wrong. It felt almost like one of her dreams, the nightmare ones. Her heart was racing and she could feel the beginnings of another panic attack. And there was no Larry to slap her out of it, God she wanted Larry. Or even that cop from last night.
"I was near here when I met that cop," Nadine said, offering at least something to the conversation.

It did feel a little warmer when he stepped out of the bathroom, but Guy still wasn't at ease. With the dark, enclosed feeling of the hallway, he had to admit that his concern was less on lurking females and more on skulking monsters. It had been easier to not worry about it when he hadn't yet encountered one, but since last night, he knew the reality of things.
He almost wanted to run into something else, though, just so that he and Jade could get an idea of what they were capable of together. Fear of the unknown was one of the more bothersome phobias, after all.
But Guy was a little sick of fear in general, really. With a sigh, he glanced back at Jade, trying to see unaffected and accustomed. "So, where do you want me to lead us next?"

"It would be best that we take a closer look at every area we wind up in, starting with this one." The traffic was close to none by the time they made it back out, so this gave him plenty of space to hug the walls for anything peculiar.

Some types of fear made for difficulty concentrating; Raine did her best to push aside thoughts of likely imminent death and instead focus on preventing any such thing from happening. In this part of the building there were safe havens as well as a fair amount of people around; they should still move quickly, but no matter what kind of monster appeared, the patient-room hallways offered places to retreat if need be.

Unlike last night, no one in the hallway seemed to be wandering alone. Haruhi wanted to figure out what was going on as much as she had last night, but she had no way of telling who was a monster, or if anyone would take kindly to her interrupting, so she left well enough alone.
Holding her flashlight out in front of her, she continued down the hallway.
