Nightshift 23: M11-M20 Hall

Gin sat quietly on the edge his bed, hands folded in his lap as the doors unlocked.  The knives were still beneath his pillow, where he'd stuffed them before Naoe came in for dinner.  He'd prefer the man didn't know he had them, but if Ran arrived before Naoe left, well, it wasn't that important.

He still didn't know if she was going to show up at all.  He'd wait a few minutes, check and see if her spirit thread was getting any closer, if not... there were plenty of other things he could do tonight.  Jack was reliable if nothing else and wouldn't be too difficult to find.  The disembodied voice of the announcer was right though.  It was possible, terribly likely in fact, that he was not on the grounds.  That he was somewhere else entirely.  It would help if he knew a little more about how their announcement system worked.  Obviously the Head Doctor wasn't the only one who could use it.

Regardless, he had to focus his thoughts on the here and now and then proceed forward.  He sat patiently,  for now at least, waiting for his visitor.

Hisoka began walking the moment Tsuzuki returned and flicked on his flashlight. He wasn't one to enjoy being held up when there were things to be done and the sooner they got moving, the better. This had nothing to do with the fact that they were in the dark. It didn't.

It didn't take long for the boy to reach the next hall over and the boy frowned at the number of people also there as well. Hopefully none wished to stay and chat... They'd be sorely disappointed.

Tsuzuki followed behind Hisoka, shining light on the hallway in front of him. He was a little surprised to see a number of people in the hallway when his own had been so deserted.

He glanced to Hisoka. "So...Which one is he?" Then as an after-thought, "Do you even know what he looks like?" If the guy had already left his room, they were going to have a horrible time finding him...

[identity profile] somber-secret.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hisoka scowled slightly and replied somewhat sarcastically with- "No, I have no idea what they look like, he didn't post a picture."

With that the boy slowly walked further into the hall, eyes glancing at the others there as well as he attempted to discern who they were supposed to meet.

Note to self, always ask for a damn name.

"Ok..." Tsuzuki frowned a little at the sarcasm. It was an honest question! He'd have to remember that Hisoka was already in a bad mood... It probably wouldn't be a good idea to make it worse.

So, how exactly were they supposed to find a person that they didn't know and had never seen before? Tsuzuki was tempted to ask, but that would risk having Hisoka snap at him again. So, it was probably better to just keep quiet this time...

It had also dawned on Dias in the end - considerably too late - that he hadn't found out anything about the person he had asked to come meet him outside his room. He hadn't really felt too concerned; after all, how hard would it be to find the person if they were just waiting around in the hall outside his room?

Stepping out of his room and practically tripping over an entire group of people had been an unpleasant shock. But they all seemed so preoccupied with each other that he eventually decided that whoever he was meeting, they probably weren't in the group; the group itself seemed to have its own agenda (he'd eavesdropped a bit) that had nothing to do with his.

Moving away from the group as much as he could without leaving the general vicinity of his room, Dias leaned against a wall and closed his eyes, trying to block out the voices around him as well as his lingering concern for Ashton. He had other things to worry about tonight.

Hisoka was becoming impatient. Wandering around the halls looking like lost lambs was not on his agenda for the night and he felt like a fool. After a while of doing so though, and watching more people fill the halls in front of the room, a man stepped out-- or tripped and stumbled-- and went to lean against the nearby wall.

To the boy, it appeared as if the man was waiting for someone. He wasn't wandering off away from the room exited from but neither was he trying to distance himself from the apparent noise, so... Hisoka sighed softly and, taking his chances, approached the man as soon as he closed his eyes.

"Waiting for someone?"

Tsuzuki followed behind Hisoka as he went over to a very tall person who had just left his room. Was this the person they were supposed to meet? Tsuzuki had to bite his lip to keep from asking if the guy's hair color was natural. It was just...really weird. He'd never seen blue hair before... But he figured Hisoka would end up scolding him again for asking stupid questions, and he didn't need to be wasting time right now anyway.

Dias had barely closed his eyes before he found them opening again to study the man who'd addressed him. Actually - it was more like a boy, small and blond, but he had a serious, almost irritable air to him that made him seem a bit older. His companion...not so much.

"I offered for someone to meet me here," he replied with a slight shrug. "Are either of you him?"

[identity profile] somber-secret.livejournal.com 2007-04-22 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hisoka nodded at the other man's question. The taller of the three did not give any specifics, but his explanation hit close enough to the mark. To be sure, the boy added in response--

"To the file rooms, correct?"

[identity profile] shiki-master.livejournal.com 2007-04-22 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Tsuzuki listened to this meager exchange of words, feeling a little out of place. They were so quiet, it was kinda creepy... He was sorely tempted to say something, just to break whatever "let's say as few words as possible" game that the other two had started.

But Tsuzuki didn't. This was Hisoka's rendezvous... He wasn't going to interrupt with idle chatter. He wasn't... At least not until they got moving again. Maybe.

Dias nodded. "I'm supposed to be accompanying someone there; his name's Edgeworth." He picked up his sword from where he'd left it leaning against the wall next to him, holding it up. "He can't fight; I can. I was going to at least ensure he lived through the night, since he seems to have been surviving through sheer luck so far. But I never got the chance to ask him where to meet; I haven't seen him since breakfast." He shrugged slightly. "So we might as well make our own way to the file room; with luck we'll run into him on the way, or meet up with him there at the very least. If you're going there, we might as well go together."

[identity profile] somber-secret.livejournal.com 2007-04-22 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Hisoka just nodded in response. He knew who this Edgeworth character was, merely by sight alone, but otherwise he knew nothing about him so he really had nothing to say. Might as well introduce himself though, to prevent further confusion.

"I'm Kurosaki Hisoka," the boy made a gesture to Tsuzuki. "He's Tsuzuki Asato. We're ready to leave whenever you are."

[identity profile] shiki-master.livejournal.com 2007-04-22 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Tsuzuki didn't have any idea who 'Edgeworth' was. Sounded like a fancy name, though... And it seemed a shame that they couldn't bring him along. It worried him that there were people out there who couldn't protect themselves, probably quite a few of them. Which was all the more reason they needed to shut this place down somehow...Before someone got hurt.

Tsuzuki nodded to Dias after Hisoka had introduced him and smiled. "Nice to meet you. Um, what's your name?"

[identity profile] heavens-too-far.livejournal.com 2007-04-22 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Dias couldn't help blinking a bit in the face of such foreign names. Scar, River, Lust, Roy, Sora...the people he'd met here so far had at least had simple, easily-pronounceable names. And the names of his own world tended towards the simplistic as well; throwing this at him suddenly, when his antisocial tendencies made remembering names hard in any case, didn't seem entirely fair.

Still, nothing much he could do about it. "Dias Flac," he said, nodding to both of them. "Let's get going."

Conversation was apparently not high on his priority list.
