Night 41: Recreational Field

[From here]

Just as in the hallways inside the building, the field looked completely deserted. von Karma saw not a single person nor creature upon it. Far to the northwest was his destination: an old supply shed that contained items that he would find marginally useful to defend himself -- at least until he could acquire something better. As much as he dreaded making that trek once again to that filthy, dusty old structure, he headed for it, keeping under the cover of the shadows of the main building. As he did so, he warily looked around for signs of potential danger, gripping his flashlight tightly in his hand in case of a sudden attack.

The door wasn't too far away, or he hadn't remembered it being that far. Kurogane and Syaoran might've been able to do that blindfolded training thing, but it wasn't really his style. Maybe he should've paid a little more attention. Not that it would've helped much since his opponent wasn't flesh and blood.

When the giant hand swooped down and picked him up, there wasn't a whole lot he could do to stop it. There was also nothing quite as strange as being grabbed like a tiny little toy. It was enough to throw off his balance and he struggled for a few desperate moments, to pry open the fingers. It was as useless as trying to convince Kurogane that having nicknames was a perfectly acceptable thing for adult men to do.

"You sure did," he gave a short, nervous laugh, still trying to make light of the situation. "Does that mean this time you hide and I have to come find you?"

"Don't get cocky with me, human," Lockdown growled. "So, what to do with you now? I could give you a little squeeze, or perhaps I could toss you in the air and catch you for a little while. Decisions, decisions..."

Of course, whatever he did would have to be non-lethal. Those were the orders, after all. At the most, all Lockdown would do was shock him and then just drop him on the ground near the door. That didn't mean he couldn't have a little fun scaring the human, though.

Yuuhi didn't like where the conversation was headed, but his options were pretty minimal. There was always the possibility of using his magic, but he couldn't make himself do that just to save his own skin. He wasn't supposed to use it at all. So he simply gave another nervous laugh.

"You could always set me down and let me go back inside?" he suggested, still smiling, though his eyes looked more than a little worried.

"Well, since you've given me some nice entertainment, I suppose I could find it in my spark to let you go," Lockdown said pleasantly. However, usually when Lockdown spoke in that tone, it meant bad news for whoever he was speaking to.

The electric spike came out of his wrist. "Of course, that doesn't mean I won't give you a little reminder of our time together. Think of it as my way of saying 'thanks for the good time'." A small, concentrated bolt shot from the spike and hit the young man in the arm. That arm would be numb for the next twenty to thirty minutes or so.

Once again, he foolishly let himself hope when the metal giant said he'd set him free. So the sudden bolt that hit him in the arm was enough to make him grit his teeth and hiss at the sudden pain, though he didn't cry out. He likely deserved it, knowing full well he hadn't intended to make good on his vow to go inside, at least not right away. With how dangerous this creature was, he could only be glad that it'd come after him and none of the others. But then, he couldn't just leave Subaru to wait for him either. Lot of good he'd do with an arm he couldn't even move though.

"You're too kind," he coughed and tried to keep his smile despite the numb sensation running up his arm. There wasn't much else he could do besides hope that the giant would get tired of bullying him at some point.

Lockdown laughed sadistically, enjoying the humans discomfort and pain. Well, perhaps it was time to let the little human go and wait for someone else to come by. Still, this human had been very fun to mess with.

The bounty hunter lowered his arm slightly and tossed the young man down in a way that sent him rolling across the grass. "Feel free to come back and entertain me at any time, kid."

A great way to start the night, wasn't it? The wind was knocked out of him when he hit the ground, so it took a couple seconds before he got to his feet. So much for that. He hated to leave others to find the giant out here, but he'd not been as rough as many monsters. If they ran into the robot, that was probably the least of their troubles.

With a backward glance and a sigh, he stumbled his way back in through the door.

Well, that was fun, Lockdown thought to himself.

The bounty hunter transformed back to car mode, went into stealth mode, and once again drove to a corner of the field where he could overlook it and keep an optic out for any more trespassers.
