Night 37: Main Hall 2-West
[from here]
Coming to a cross hallway, Falis stopped and knelt down again. In the darkness, she couldn't see where the hallway lead, nothing more than a few feet immediately in front of her. Unbeknown to her, the stairs she needed to go down to the first level were just to the right. Falis had the same feeling as she had back at that dead end, so she didn't think there was anything down that hallway.
Seeing some very faint light to the left, the hunter headed that way. Once she found light, she could get her bearings.

"You've probably been this way," Brock said as they climbed up the stairs, "I mean, you've been to the Chapel during the day, right?"
Come to think of it, he couldn't remember if he'd seen Luffy. Much as he liked the kid, it wasn't as if he was constantly making sure where exactly the goofy guy was at all hours - he reserved that stalking for one Peter Parker, apparently. Honestly, he couldn't think of anything awesome. Most likely he'd been dragged up here before getting turned loose in the Sun Room, but he had no recall about that at all.
Reaching the second floor, Brock rocked back on his heels a little, his nose flaring as the scent of blood and gore hit him. It was fresh, real fresh, and he half-looked around expecting to see a body. There was just a whole lot of black splashes of blood that he could pick up with his Other's grainy night-vision, but, other than that, no body. Someone had been killed here. Too bad they got dragged off, Brock thought, and months ago he would've been horrified to even think he'd be thinking about scavenging for a brain or two. Now he was just bummed out he'd missed out on a free dinner.
Brock motioned for Luffy to be careful. "Someone got tagged," he lowered his voice and hoped Luffy would have the good sense to do the same. Considering how he seemed to think they were just hanging out for kicks, Brock just hoped he wouldn't attract anything with his "indoor" voice.

The pirate paused when his companion seemed to react so something in the area. "Huh? Tagged?" he asked, glancing around. Was that like the game, or what? More importantly, who'd organized to play tag tonight, and hadn't told him about it? The hallway was pretty quiet, but he guessed something went down before they showed up. "One of us, or one of them?"

It might be human, but something didn't smell quite right. If he was closer to his Other, like he was supposed to, than he would've been able to tell off the bat. But all he knew was it smelled like blood and it didn't smell like the monster blood he'd smelled here - he didn't add he'd had up close and personal experience to Luffy. Luffy was a good kid, but he wasn't sure that understanding would go so far as to include stuff like bouts of selective cannibalism. Brock just shrugged.
"All I can tell is it's just a lot. Whoever it's from, they're probably dead or on their way to it," Brock said. He stepped out further into the hallway, glancing down it. "Let's just keep moving."

As it was now, he just figured they were okay, wherever they were, and would turn up on their own time. He'd never been one to assume the worst about his very capable comrades, after all.
"Let's keep going this way," Luffy said. "I've never been down here before."
