Night 37: Main Hall 2-West

[from here]

Coming to a cross hallway, Falis stopped and knelt down again. In the darkness, she couldn't see where the hallway lead, nothing more than a few feet immediately in front of her. Unbeknown to her, the stairs she needed to go down to the first level were just to the right. Falis had the same feeling as she had back at that dead end, so she didn't think there was anything down that hallway.

Seeing some very faint light to the left, the hunter headed that way. Once she found light, she could get her bearings.

Sasuke did his damnedest not to show any surprise when Kakashi's voice joined the conversation, and mostly succeeded. Jiraiya's approach had been too obvious to fully satisfy the uncomfortable feeling of being watched, anyway. Besides -- just because Kakashi had claimed that he had other business to attend to didn't mean that that business wasn't creepily watching them as they went about theirs. The man hadn't specified, after all.

Some things didn't change. It wasn't so much a sentimental thought as a factual one.

Sasuke's frown deepened further when Sakura described the hall -- he'd already heard sounds of conflict, but having a more precise description helped. Still, the last time he'd fought a spider, he couldn't recall that it had been able to spit acid.

However much he wanted to observe a different monster (or work with another patient -- for the purposes of alliance, not because Sasuke was some kind of good samaritan), the priority was still reaching the experiment blocks. "Time is the main limiting factor," he spoke in Sakura's direction, adding to Kakashi's comment for the most part. "We need to talk and move."

With that, Sasuke headed to the left, focusing on remembering as clearly as he could the distance between the stairs and the correct hall. It probably would have been most expedient to follow the wall with one hand as usual, but in front of Konoha-nin he had no intention of appearing any weaker than he was.

Not for the first time, he was grateful for the Uchiha memory.
