Nightshift 35: West Wing, South Hall 1-A
[Coming from here]
So they still had to deal with one of the brainwashed patients tonight; the rest were being carted off for experimentation. Something had changed in the routine. There'd been a pattern earlier, one night to those "trials", the others for the brain-washed patients. But tonight was different for some reason.
So what made it change?
Sanzo was suspicious of sudden change, mostly because it always signaled something was up.
Was it because of that "Jill" pissing Landel off? Or just pure whim?
Whatever the reason, it wouldn't do the patients any favors.

Before he had time to chastise him any further, though, their mysterious benefactor came running to meet them. "We're okay. Thanks." He really meant it, for once. Maybe they'd tease this guy later, but for right now he was genuinely grateful.
"Yeah, same. Don't blame you--hey. You're that guy from the showers. The one that was going all submissive slaveboy on the other kid."
no subject
"Oh geez, dinner. Don't bring that up right now, ok?" he pleaded, though he couldn't resist that one little joke.
Kaoru used his brother to get to his feet and rubbed his face. Great, now the rescuer was gonna think he was always this weak or somethi-
Kaoru snorted. And then laughed, unsure why it was so funny that the guy who had rescued them was the one from the showers.
"Thanks," he snickered, wiping away a tear. "Really. I wouldn't have taken you for the, er, valiant sort." He wasn't trying to be horrible. Every word he said was the truth. Guys who tried to wash other guys didn't generally rush in a place, throwing spells at rats and rescuing innocent people. Oh wait, the twins weren't innocent. But his reasoning still stood.

Shadow gave the two boys a wink before glancing over his shoulder. "Seems as though the cat has given up on us. At least there is that."

Hikaru leaned against Kaoru, letting his brother use him for support while he laughed himself silly. "There is that," he agreed, only a little sarcastically. "So...guess introductions are probably in order. I'm Hikaru. My clone's name is Kaoru."

But the guy seemed nice enough. And magical, which was beginning to sink in, finally.
Kaoru smiled and waved as he was introduced. "Not bad for a scientific experiment, am I?" He wondered how many people he could fool by telling them Hikaru was some sort of child genius (which was wasn't THAT far from being, he was just surrounded by other smart kids) who had created a clone.
"What are you, exactly?"
no subject
"I'm a halfblood," Shadow said. "Which means my father was an elf and my mother was human. As for my name you can call me Shadow. Everyone does."
no subject
And then he dropped the bomb.
"An elf." This guy claimed to be half elf. Well, his ears were kind of pointy, but...what the hell? "...Well then. Nice to meet you, Legolas."

If Kaoru hadn't seen the great ball of fire, or whatever it was, he'd have probably doubted the guy even more. Although he did, very obviously, tilt to the side and take a look at the guys ears.
"Elen sila lumenn omentilmo," he grinned, elbowing his brother should he dare pipe up. Kaoru had wanted, a long time ago, for the twins to speak only in Elven languages. It was a good plan and would have kept people out, but Hikaru had grown bored of learning them long before Kaoru had.
[It means "A star shall shine on the hour of our meeting", apparently (http://www.grey-company.org/Circle/language/phrase.htm)...]

He paused, glancing between the twins as he struggled to figure out what it was that he was missing. "Do... do humans grow other humans in your world?"
no subject
"Maybe they do. Maybe Kaoru sprung fully formed from my rib."
no subject
Kaoru stuck a finger in his mouth and made a 'pop' as he pulled it out. "Just like that."
He looked up the coriddor, nervously for a moment. He couldn't hear the cats. Or anything else nearby.

But it was sure as hell a fun one.
"You did try to 'clean' your friend."
