Nightshift 34: Main Hallway, 1-West

[from here]

The shinigami padded silently down the hallway, keeping to the left-side wall and her hand upon her sword's hilt. Her eyes scanned the area surorunding her as she continued on to the next hallway, especially the nurses' stations as she neared them. This would be a horrible time for her to get attacked by a nurse or two. Thankfully, the halls were empty, btu she didn't drop her guard. She knew better.

Almost there.

Oh Celes--a beauty in of herself. Luxord was rather thankful she had no desire to strangle him. That meant the night could perhaps become more interesting with her company.

"Not particularly," he answered. He flipped a card out from his sleeve and between his fingers, flashing the Ten of Hearts to the woman. "Do you mind my company?"

"Not in the least," Celes responded, a touch warmer. "I was considering going to explore the upstairs again, if you're up to it." She also motioned towards the Sun Room. "Or to take a monster-filled stroll of the Institute," the sides of her mouth lifted into an impish grin.

The General offered him her arm, "Whatever you like, Master Luxord."

"I'm up for anything, my love." He laughed a bit before taking her hand, not her arm, and laid a kiss on the back of it. Then he took her offered arm in his and stood by her side with that same, pleasant smile. "But the prospect of traveling outside seems rather charming, does it not? Fighting under the stars with a nice, fresh breeze... Perhaps we can even find our way to that quaint little town we're scheduled to revisit in the morning.

"Besides," he added whist flicking that Ten of Hearts in his free hand, "it may just be that leaving these walls will do us some good."

Celes raised a curious brow at Luxord's affectionate phrase for her, but counted it no more different than Edgar's honeyed words. "Outside?" she wondered allowed, considering the consequences and chances for something quite a bit more than simple radio treasure games. "That sounds like a lovely idea, dear sir. It's been some time since I've been able to take in fresh air in relative peace and quiet."

The back of her hand still tingled from where his lips touched, but Celes did her best to pay it no mind. "Lead on." She wondered where, exactly, the door to the outside woods was located.

It had been a while since Luxord had traveled to where the exit doors were, but he was sure they'd find their way. "As you wish," he nodded.

Now to find that entry room...
