Nightshift 33: Greenhouse Yard
[from here]
With the door shut and Toph safe for the moment, Renamon allowed herself to think again. Her body would be feeling the pain soon, as soon as she calmed down, and she needed to search the outside before it set in. She didn't see anything, but she was learning that meant nothing. And then she realized she didn't need her flashlight.
Renamon stepped further out into the night. She was instantly more relaxed. Outside in the night? She was in her natural element. She wasn't confined in a dark place with walls that felt like death. She was outside, at night, when she was the most powerful. Well, when she was a Digimon.
At that second the pain decided to set in, and she breathed in sharply. That was it. She wouldn't wear the sweatshirt anymore, not if it got caught on things and got her hurt like this. She gently peeled it off, then examined what she could of her wound. It was long and diagonal, nearly the length of her upper arm, and seemed deep. She couldn't see the bone, but it was bleeding freely. An inch, maybe. She wasn't good at determining things like this. She balled up the sweatshirt and held it to the wound tightly.
Once all that was completed, then she looked around more thoroughly.

Rhode knew she was a perfect little angel though. The Earl told her so! Though he did say she shouldn't be so boyish. Whatever.

"Five card draw?" he asked with a wide-eyed, boyish smile. Allen seated himself quickly and began dealing the cards. He'd already managed to sneak a couple of good ones into his hand just by shuffling the deck carefully.

One might think it'd be weird to have a card game in the middle of a monster-infested hospital, but the Noah didn't really care. He was too occupied to figure out a way to not end up stripped down to his boxers.

"Looks like I win," he said as he gathered up the cards once more. "Unless you wanted to keep going. There's no shame in admitting defeat." Though he said the words sweetly, it was hard to miss the dark aura that seemed to have gathered around him. After all the Noah had done to him, he felt perfectly justified in taking the man for everything he had!

The situation had gone from bad to worse in a matter of moments. It all started with his left slipper, and it ended with having no choice but to hand over his pants. It wasn't actually about the clothes - he didn't like them anyway - but his
lifedignity had been at stake.Dignity that had been shattered to pieces. Because he had been forced to be stripped down to his underwear by a 15 year old boy who was probably still a virgin. And even better, it was the already the second time it had happened.
So Tyki couldn't help but wonder; was that boy really 15?
He had half the mind to blame his defeat on 'something being wrong with the cards', but that would make him seem like a sore loser. There wasn't even a need to admit his defeat. Him sitting in his boxers was enough proof of that. And in front of Rhode, too. He wished he could sink right through the floor out of embarrassment - both literally and figuratively. He'd probably never hear the end of this...
And it was also cold as hell. Why had they gone outside again?
"No, we're done." he answered, feeling the need to go and sulk somewhere. Like he was going to continue. Being in his boxers was bad enough. No need to get stripped down even further than that...

"No, don't stop, this is fun!" she exclaimed, demanding they do it again. She wasn't thinking that in order to play it right once more, Allen would have to return Tyki's clothes first, but those were just minor details.

Though he felt guilty about leaving Rinali and Rukia behind, this little triumph was more than enough to bring up his spirits. Even if he couldn't defeat the the Noahs in combat, this victory was certainly sweet.

He shot a sore expression at the pair before rising to his feet with as much dignity he could possibly muster in his current situation.
At least Sheryl wasn't here to see him in his half-naked glory...

The squirrel hesitated for just a moment, watching them, judging its chances, then darted straight at the small group, moving with astonishing speed for its enormous form and some 200+ pounds of bulk.

However, when he caught sight of something large moving toward them, it seemed the games would have to be put on hold. "W-w-w-what is that?!" Allen sputtered as the giant furry creature moved toward them.

And then their game was interrupted by a large, furry creature moving into their direction. And it was moving fast.
He wasn't sure if luck was finally on his side, but Tyki couldn't help but to be relieved for the interruption.

"Get inside!" he shouted at Rhode, who was still clinging to his neck like her life depended on it. She wasn't exactly making it easy for him to help them out! Frowning, he began to activate his Innocence, sending green sparks of light around his shoulder.

Not that there was much time for Tyki to stand around watching it, because it was going after him. Like Rhode, he really had to wonder why everything went after him tonight.
He dodged to the side as it lunged itself towards him, keeping his eyes on the furry thing as he drew his knife.
no subject
It wouldn't be dodged so easily this time as two hundred pounds of fur and teeth made a quick lunge at the smaller two humans.

Normally she wouldn't have flinched at something like a giant squirrel - the Earl's Akuma could look like so much weirder sometimes - but here she'd already had the traumas from the ghost woman and the giant bird things. Now there was a giant squirrel coming at them full force. Rhode shuddered slightly, unable to respond to Allen's demand that she try to flee. Instead her hold on his tightened despite the Innocence activation at the left.
Allen was a goody-goody, as kind as they came. For that, she surprisingly felt safer being with him and in harm's way than she did without and moving away from the threat. She was not letting go.

He swung his giant arm at the creature, intending to swipe it aside and, with any luck, into the nearest wall.

So Allen could still invoke, huh? That was something worth remembering.

When the squirrel tried to drag Allen to the ground, she made a face at it and aimed a Mary Jane at it's head. "Get off him!" she ordered.

Though Allen could usually lift hundreds of pounds easily using his Innocence, he himself was only a little over a hundred pounds. He was pulled forward, though he tried to drag his feet on the ground, but it wasn't enough to upend his balance. His long, hooked fingers, each one now several feet long, curled around the squirrel's body and he squeezed, burning and crushing the rodent at the same time.

That fur-ball was much faster than it looked. Not that it helped much now that the boy decided to squeeze it.
