Nightshift 30: M35, Clinic
Oh. Oh dear. Despite knowing little of the man on the radio in a personal sense, the news hit him hard. He wasn't sure if it was true, but... why would the doctor lie? If it weren't true, they'd find out easily enough, so it would be pointless. Right?
Oh, he was a horrible man! A part of Tamaki wished that he could fight, so he could help take down that awful person himself. But he knew it was just a flight of fancy. But what would they do now? Without any clues at all?
Sighing, he hung up the sign for the clinic. He needed to talk to Ed so badly, but he had his duties here. Even if he wasn't the best or the fastest, he could still do things. And he had to. So he sat down and waited, for either arrivals or some contradiction to what the Head Doctor had said.
Just in case.

"Hello. Shadow got clawed across the shoulder and bit on the arm by a cat."
no subject
"It hurts," Shadow said, still holding his arm close to his chest. "And it feels as though my heart is pounding in my head."
no subject
"Let's get the wounds cleaned," he said, squeezing his cousin's hand gently. "Once we've stopped the bleeding, you should feel better."

Once getting a good look at the patient's arm, Kyon took the brown bottle and after cleaning what he could of the blood, started to apply the alcohol. "This is probably going to sting." he said as a warning, in case he missed what he was putting on his arm.

"So," Shadow said, smiling weakly at Valyn and talking mostly to get his mind off of the pain in his arm. "Do you think our scars will match?"
no subject
He was used to Shadow being injured - but not like this. The beatings the boy had received at Dyran's hands seemed like nothing in the face of this.

To wait for an answer, Kyon turned back to Valyn and said, "If you want, call me Kyon." The word physicker was strange to be called by. It made him sound like he was somehow important.

"Yes, here." He paused as he looked for the little box with the surgical needles and threads. "Ah! Found it! Can you do that, or...? I have the directions here...."
He'd never given stitches, but he'd studied how to do it.
no subject
"If neither of you have done this stitching thing before, perhaps we should just stop the bleeding for now and make him comfortable for what remains of darkness - which shouldn't be much. When the sun rises, the hospital has the wounds tended to when we wake. As much as I distrust this place and its motives, our injuries have been well treated and bandaged upon waking. He's not in too much danger while laying still, if we can get his wounds cleaned and bandaged for the time being, rather than risking doing it incorrectly with what we have here."

He nodded his head once as Shana spoke. "What she said," he murmured. "It's just a scratch."
no subject
He could at least close it up with his own magic, and that was the important thing, wasn't it? A pair of untrained teenage boys weren't going to start impaling Shadow with needles!

Seeing as they were rather against the whole idea, Kyon fell silent and nodded. He didn't want to upset the patient or the guy he was with. Instead he took the bandages, unwrapping them slightly and ...sort of waited for permission to continue without the stitching.

"If you can see to his arm, I'll take care of his shoulder," she spoke to Kyon, giving him the permission he seemed to be waiting for.
Shifting around the bed, she met Shadow's gaze and gave him a crooked smile. "You just got jealous of all the attention I got the other night, didn't you?" she teased him mildly, giving him something to distract himself with as she leaned over his bleeding shoulder and began to carefully clean it with whatever potion was in the small bottle, knowing it would sting as before.

He was still worried, and the worry wouldn't ease until morning, but he was reasonably assured there was no immediate danger.

Making sure it was tight, Kyon tied to bandage to hold it in place. "That should be okay until tomorrow." He said standing up and looking his handy work over.
no subject
Straightening, she glanced at the bandage work on Shadow's arm and gave Kyon a relieved smile. "It's well-wrapped. Thank you for your help. Would you like to do his shoulder, too? Or I can take over. I've not had as much practice at it, but I think I can manage, now that we've got his injuries cleaned. Unless you have something mild for the pain to give him? I know Tamaki had several types of little capsules of something the other night."
