Nightshift 30: Sun Room
[[from here]]
He wasn't sure just what awaited him as the boy with pale hair and glowing eyes dragged him across the tiled floor, but he was so bruised and beaten after their one-sided fight that he couldn't do much to stop it. After hearing the rumors about what happened to patients here, he didn't have high hopes. The world stopped spinning for a moment when they reached the railing. Was he just going to be left on the floor here?
It didn't look like he'd be quite that lucky. The boy floated into the air, carrying him along like a sack of potatoes before tossing him unceremoniously into the Sun Room below. He fell like a rag doll and hit one of the tables on the way down. He heard as much as felt the cracking of bones as he landed in a heap on the floor. His upper arm felt strangely warm on the left side, only to realize it was because the bone had broken through the skin. Yuuhi bit back a cry of pain, wishing the fall had knocked him unconscious too, then at least he wouldn't have to feel the pain for a while.
His flashlight was gone, lost in the scuffle, and he looked nervously into the darkness, well aware of what easy prey he would be. He had to move, before someone or something caught the scent of his blood.

HK picking up a chair and throwing it was not, however. Rather than pick up a chair to throw SubZero held his arms out and tried to gather his freezing energy together.
However, nothing happened, and after a moment SubZero decided to go for a more direct attack, moving towards their opponent.

Beatrix didn't spare time to see what the hell SubZero was trying to, but immediately moved around to flank her new target. She'd be damned if she wasn't going to kill something that was part of this fucking prison this night. She moved quickly, bringing the nasty shard of glass into a ready position betraying her years of weapons training to those that were watching.
"Come here, boy," she said, her voice cold and deadly, to the assassins' enemy as she approached.

As if problems like that ever stopped HK! He took out one of his scalpels, circling to try and get on the other side of the target from Arlene. Any time a target could be cornered was always fortunate.

A quick analysis detailed that each target was skilled, so discretion was advised. His arm had also taken some damage, but nothing that would hinder the use of his Fangs.
A low, warning wheeze escaped through his teeth as his visible eye flicked back and forth between the two targets. He wasn't moving, otherwise.

He couldn't even use his ice blasts, so there was no chance of creating a weapon to use in this fight.

Three versus one were hardly fair odds, even less so when the three were highly skilled assassins. Pity this boy was in their way.

Using the same move as with Itachi, he stepped backward faster than human eyes could follow. One.
The second target was attacking his neck. That was easily dealt with. He raised one of his Fangs and blocked the attack as though HK had been winding up the attack for minutes. The scalpel clanged against his Fang. Two.
The third target--
Hit him.
The glass shard sunk into the left side of his forehead. His display cracked and began flickering and short-circuiting angrily. Letting out a pained cry, he jumped back to the door, growling. He covered the wound with a hand as it spread to the rest of his face--cracking like glass. He didn't bleed though, and he clearly wasn't in physical pain.
His program told him to stand back and guard the door. Wait for the targets to come, and pick them off one by one. And his switch flipped--eliminate the threats to the target area immediately.
With an angry scream, he charged Beatrix and vanished--leaving a few after-images. The next second, he was crouched below her, blades crackling with thunder energy. He leapt up at her and slashed.

Too fast for him to do anything, and he was going after Arlene. SubZero felt just a little better with the fact that the enemy was moving too fast for him to have done anything even if he could still use his powers, but that didn't really help the situation much.
Thankfully, he was still standing near her. SubZero probably wouldn't be able to get his attack off first or help Arlene at all, but while the enemy was preoccupied with his own attack SubZero decided to try a more risky kick towards one of his arms.

There was no blood. There was... no blood.
The cracks that spread across her target's face from the point the glass had cut into him reminded her momentarily of the way a computer monitor looked after someone's head got slammed into it. She didn't take much time to contemplate the similarities as she started toward the boy for a follow-up strike as he roared at her and charged.
Then he disappeared, moving faster than she could easily track, then reappeared behind her. The crackling sound of electricity was the only thing that gave away his presence to the Bride. Thankfully she was already moving forward.
Unaware of the boy's exact position behind her, the Bride threw herself into a forward dive, her unarmed hand hitting the floor to give her enough leverage to kick back at her opponent with one leg. As she kicked, her body nearly inverted, she could at least see the boy and his weapons as the blades sliced at her. Whether he couldn't adjust quick enough or the forward dive itself had thrown the attack vector off, the blades cut her shallowly across the side of her leg as she kicked back.
The familiar sting of metal cutting flesh didn't bother her. What bothered her was the jolting shock of the electricity transfered from the blade to her leg. It felt white hot and the scent of burning flesh touched the air. The muscles of that leg jerked and quivered, taking any force or accuracy out of her retaliatory kick, causing her to miss.
This was an unacceptable outcome.
Beatrix moved to tuck her legs in, hissing in pain, to turn the dive into a forward roll that would hopefully take her out of the enemy's immediate range.

Still, that meant tactics from last night would still work. HK followed the target, moving in to strike at the eyes as fast as he could. It had worked well last time!
He tried to make himself forget that last time had also given him a broken arm. Details!

Legs and eyes. He made a note of that in his database: patients enjoyed trying to knock him over and blind him. Not that he needed his eyes to see, but nevertheless--important bit of information.
A kick he could take, but he had already taken damage to his face and wasn't about to do it again. He had to choose which to block.
Fangs suddenly exploding in a burst of blue-edge polygons, his hands were free to move. He caught HK's scalpel between his fingers and held it fast, making no outward signs of effort on his part. His attention was immediately directed to the kick that was coming at his other side.
However, simultaneous attacks meant that he could only deal with one at a time without his Fangs to aid him. SubZero's kick sunk into his midsection, tearing out another part of his display in his side. That was vital. A vital part of his program was damaged.
Seizing SubZero's leg, he threw both HK and SubZero's attacks back with strength seemingly impossible for his weak, stitched limbs. He was getting angry...

Even being thrown back would not stop him, SubZero rolled to his feet after he landed, charging in and aiming an attack at the same spot he had hit with his kick.
Hopefully HK or Arlene would be able to make an attack at the same time, it was obvious now that they could only hit when they overwhelmed him with multiple attacks.

That was it. This boy had to die. And he was going to die now.
Ignoring the pain, she'd survived and fought with far worse before, the Bride took advantage of the distractions caused by the other assassins' attacks and darted in at the right opening, to grasp the boy's head with both hands, shard of glass held between her teeth at the wrapped area, and snap his neck with a cold, fluid motion.
Playtime was over.

But not for long.
He was angry now. Very angry. The targets needed to be removed, and yet he had taken so much damage, his program wouldn't function correctly unless he rebuilt himself. So he would do just that.
The silent body suddenly roared to life, and he threw his opponents off of him with a shriek of fury. Head lolling to the side, both red-rimmed eyes wide with fury, he raised an arm above his head. His feet slowly left the ground, and he hovered a few feet off the ground. A strange, but very large assembly of transparent polygons appeared around his wrist, shifting and solidifying into a very solid bracelet-structure.
It whirred to life and gathered energy, and he braced his arm with his other damaged one. With a frustrated scream, sharp beams of color shot out of the bracelet in a radial pattern. Some hit the floor and left bare, carpet-less patches. One hit a sofa and the piece of furniture disappeared completely. Three hit HK, Beatrix, and SubZero--one for each.

Apparently they had really pissed the kid off, since this had the markings of a finishing attack.
It was unsettling to see HK and Arlene begin to disappear in a series of glowing 0's and 1's before everything went dark.

At least that's what she thought had happened.
One does not expect someone with a broken neck to come back to life with an untamed fury. She stepped back from the boy, her eyes widening slightly as something appeared around his wrist, never mind the hovering off the floor, and beams of energy shot out in all directions.
The Bride had no idea what they were, but as soon as one hit her, faster than she could even think to avoid, she knew it was bad.
"What t--" Her sentence never finished as she disappeared from the room.

What?! was the next thought that zoomed through his mind at great speed as he was thrown backwards. This was shortly followed by the last distinct mental comment on the situation before he suddenly disappeared:
Bugger.
