Day 30: Cafeteria, Dinner

The cafeteria was all but empty when Zelnick got there. He was a little disappointed; he had gotten the impression that patients usually ate dinner in their rooms, so he hadn't arranged to meet anyone, and there really wasn't anyone to sit by and engage in conversation yet.

Quietly, he collected dinner and a big glass of orange juice, and chose a seat near the food-serving counters. Talking for so long had made him thirsty... and, well, fruit juice was a luxury he had missed.

Mozenrath stewed as the staff lectured him and allowed them to wander off without verbally assailing them again. He'd have to come back if Mozenrath didn't behave? It sounded like an overindulgent parent threatening his child and Mozenrath hated being babied.

Still, it was a neat trick they had pulled on Knives and Mozenrath wondered what exactly they had done. They had inserted something into the other man, an elixir of sorts. Whatever the answer, it seemed to work quite well as Knives mellowed out. Mozenrath smirked cruelly.

"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue, Michael?"

Knives could do little more than glare at Mozenrath and he did, with a look of pure anger and hatred. He wanted to get up and at least go back to his room, but he didn't trust his legs right now.

Oh, Mozenrath enjoyed that look. It made him feel superior to the other. He had won this fight, hadn't he?

"Ooo, if looks could bruise," He purred and smirked. "Be careful with that look; someone could get hurt."

What was Knives going to do about it? Mozenrath suspected that if he tried anything again, the consequences would only be worse. He was free to do his worse as far as the sorcerer was concerned. It wouldn't go too far, whatever action he took.
