Day 30: Cafeteria, Breakfast
Hitsugaya woke with a start.
His entire body ached, but the pain was nowhere near as bad as it had been the night before. His injuries had been tended two with clean gauze and bandages, and he found every movement wasn't agony. He wasn't in the best of shape, but thanks to the miracle of landel's strange time distortion, he had mostly recovered from the vile poison without having to waste anyone else's talents.
And in his hand, still...there was the key.
He dressed quickly, sliding the key onto the key ring from his desk drawer and stuck it into his pocket. Whether the key stood to gain them anything or not, it stood as a vital reminder that they could succeed in this place. There was hope, as insignificant as it often seemed. They could beat this place.
That small shred of hope made getting up worth it.
The nurse who escorted him to breakfast was cheerful, and commented idly about how wonderful it was to see young Tommy Winters up and about again after his unfortunate run-in with a bad case of food poisoning. He smirked slightly, knowing that any lies the institute forced into their heads were only that: lies. He wouldn't buy it for a second. And on top of that, the concept of muffins sounded almost appetizing. While he still preferred his authentic Japanese cuisine, the food here was slowly becoming more and more bearable. He would have preferred a warm bowl of sweet nattou over rice over the mufffins, but they would do. The plain yogurt and fruit, on the other hand, was excellent. He piled his plate high with fruit as usual, and got several small bowls of yogurt as well.
Finding the most convenient table to the end of the food line, he took a seat and scanned for the new arrivals. New arrivals meant people who would be lost and confused. Renji did a good job of making a bulliten post last time...he should recommend abarai-fukutaicho do the same again this time.

In any case, a change of topic was a good thing. "Mm. I recognised the name as well, but he didn't seem to know about the religious connotations; they don't even have Judaism in his world."
no subject
Religion wasn't any better a topic, though it was much less confusing for the girl. "Good, his world doesn't need it," she announced firmly. She had no real idea where the Sephiroth person was from, but a world without religion was a wood world. "He does need a new name though!"

"I don't know if his world has any other kind of religion, though." Farfarello pretty much only had issues with monotheism in general and the Judeo-Christian tradition specifically. Nature religions and the like didn't seem to result in quite so much fanaticism. But then, he was biased--to him anything looked good compared to Catholicism.

"As long as it's not the religion that name's from, it's fine. That one's bad." As false as false could get so far as she was concerned. And inaccurate! The things that were included that had happened had be so thoroughly warped it was sad! The story kept the ignorant humans from knowing of the Noah, granted, but it was still wrong. If they had gotten the truth, maybe the war wouldn't have happened and they would have "believed" right to their deaths.
That's what they were doing anyway.

Farfarello had to smile at her description of Judaism as "bad." Such a simplistic way of looking at things, but he certainly couldn't disagree with the sentiment. "Oh yeah. Very bad."

He probably wasn't used to dealing with such a strange kind of logic as Rhode's where people were expected to get her meaning.
When he gave no indication of whether he understood or not, she didn't try to make him understand (which would have likely gone off on an even more confusing subject) and stuck with the religion subject. He'd just given a very interesting answer after all. "Humans are stupid to follow it and annoying because they do." That's why it was all right to kill them. So stupid and weak.

"Ooooo, who, tell meeee~~~?" Now that he'd indicated just how fun he was, she couldn't very well leave him alone. She wanted to gory details! "And how? Slow and painful, I hope? Lotsa blood~~~~~? <3333"

"Some mute motherfucker named Caim." Farfarello rolled his eye, snorting in disdain--for a thieving bastard using the name of the first murderer*, Caim had had some serious delusions of righteousness. "And he put up a hell of a fight, but once I got him tied down yeah, it was slow." Farfarello idly touched the bruising along his jaw, noting that the swelling seemed to have died down already. He'd have to get Schuldig to check on his ribs and whatnot, later. "Of course, I don't have most of my favourite tools here, and had to finish before night ran out, but I did what I could."

"I don't have any of my stuff either..." Stuff meaning her powers which gave her any play tool imaginable. Whatever this guy used, she could likely duplicate or top just with a thought.

"With all the freaks and mutants around here, I'm starting to wonder if there's a lab I could get to. At least I could find some acid that way." Farfarello pouted a little, thinking of all the fun things he couldn't have here. No blowtorch was especially galling. But maybe he could find some pliers and acid.
no subject
She considered that there might be a place to get weapons, but she didn't know herself just where. "Probably," she agreed without much extra input.

A lab... he'd have to ask Schuldig. If anyone had been there, Schuldig would know what was in it. A little bit of H2SO4 or HClO4 or HCl... Not much good for actual combat, but really great to fuck people up with. Everyone had to have a hobby, right? Most of Farfarello's involved causing someone else extreme pain and/or disfigurement.
[OOC: Bonus points to any non-chem-majors who can identify all three of those acids without googling them or otherwise looking them up. :P ]

Hobbies were fun ways to express yourself. Rhode wasn't so great with chemicals, but she had her own special ways of causing pain. Many, many special ways. If only her powers would kick in a little more here...
