Day 29: Chapel
Hiei didn't give a damn about religious services, meditation, or pretending to be social. The always sudden waking after night put him in a bad mood, this one particularly so. Even with Kurikara licking him like some perverted moron, the warmth the dragon provided was welcome in Hiei's bed, and missing when he woke, giving the surrounding air a greater sense of chill.
But the perfect thing to relieve his anger might just be making an appearance that morning, and that at least gave Hiei hope for a decent day.
Hopefully Kurikara and Kurama both would be clever enough to figure it out for themselves. Without hesitation, Hiei demanded to be led to the temple, taking a seat in one of the rear pews. Humans had a way of overdoing things, and this place wasn't really much exception to that. Granted Hiei's limited knowledge prevented him from realizing there were much more outrageous churches, but to the demon, the colored pieces of glass and polished wood seemed to be much.
It didn't matter, however. Either could be turned into weapons, perfect objects to slice into that damned head doctor's throat or bash in his skull. That was a thought worth grinning about.
[Feel free to pester. Just, uh, be aware that he's not exactly nice.]

The only thing that came to him was attacking Hikaru. His hand dropped to the bed before they were cupping his mouth. He'd really done it. The guy had came back to help him, and he tore into his neck like some kind of...
Monster.
Shaking the chills, Kyon got up and out of bed without much of a fuss to his nurse. He walked hesitantly down the halls, looking at how everything was seemingly back to the schedule, despite the horror that was last night. Kyon wanted to shudder at the thought of the night before almost as much as he shuddered at the thought of his experimentation.
His nurse left his side when they entered the Sun Room. Discovering the post for him on the bulletin, Kyon made a quick reply and soon made his way to the Chapel. He was hesitant about entering at first, remembering more vampiric lore, but decided to go on ahead.
Finding it having no effect on him, Kyon quietly took one of the pews and waited for Hisoka.

if only things really worked that way, maybe he'd have a few more braincells and a bit more sanity to speak of. In truth, Hisoka had chosen this over the Sun Room mainly because last time Martin Landel had revealed himself, Hisoka had not been paying attention. This time, if there was a 'this time', the boy planned to study the head doctor rather than contemplate murdering a certain psychopath--as tempting as that was.Catching sight of Kyon seated in one of the pews, Hisoka wasted no time in approaching with a polite nod. Vampire or not, the boy was lucid for the moment. The boy would take this as a sign that he wasn't always driven mad with hunger.
"May I sit?"

And yet, there was the other guy from last night, the one who'd shoved them out the bus. He wanted to talk, and a small part of him was worried that this 'talk' would turn into something more violent.
But that polite disposition was enough for him to put aside his current suspicions.
"Sure, go ahead," He said looking at him slightly.

Two years dead, one week trapped. Hisoka shook his head, scattering his thoughts--now wasn't the time.
"I never introduced myself," he said, turning his eyes back to Kyon. He wasn't beating around the bush and, yes, he did want answers, but there was little point to get hostile about it. Besides, what he wanted to know probably wasn't something the other boy would be comfortable talking about, so he might as well not do anything else to make things worse. "My name is Kurosaki Hisoka."
no subject
"You must have gotten mine from the twins," Kyon commented, remembering seeing it on the bulletin.
A few short moments, before Hisoka got a chance to continue, Kyon asked, "Is Hikaru okay?"
no subject
"Shaken and confused, but fine," the boy replied, remembering the comment on the bulletin board. "Did either of them know what you are?"
no subject
"No, they didn't, but then," Here he gave a weak laugh, "I barely know what I am."
That last sentence was a hard thing for him to say, whether or not the boy next to him knew it. In the past he always at least had some consolation knowing that he was at least the human in the Brigade.
Now he couldn't even say that. Kyon continued on, "I've only been like this since the night before last."
no subject
Not selfish at all.
The boy crossed his arms and leaned back against the pew, a frown settling on his face. "You don't have to say anything if you don't want, but I asked you here because I wanted to know who was involved in the process."
no subject
Unfortunately for Hisoka, Kyon didn't have much to answer the question with. "There was only one doctor that I could tell." He did his best to recall as much as he could from that night. "He did a good job of hiding his face most of the time, but for the few glimpses I got, it seemed generic enough. I didn't get a name."
He subconsciously touched the side of his arm where the injection had been made. "But he knew way too much about things he shouldn't have."
no subject
"Did he do any spells or rituals? And what did he sound like?"
no subject
"His voice wasn't anything special, other than the fact that it sounded like he was enjoying himself far too much for him to be a sane man." Kyon wondered if Hisoka knew the doctor that had fucked him up.
"If this is ringing a bell with you, let me know."
no subject
Hisoka nodded, forcing himself to take a deep breath to prevent himself jumping to his feet and hunting. Muraki. Down. "Sounds like a certain bastard I know, yeah. But by the sounds of it, there's plenty of assholes like him running around here, so I'm not sure."
no subject
Kyon took a deep breath and asked, "So, was this really all you wanted to know?" He looked towards Hisoka, curious but at the same time, very even, "Because people are rarely nice to 'vampires' in the movies."
no subject
The boy slowly turned his head to give Kyon a blank stare. "...The movies...?"
no subject
"I just meant, for what you saw me do last night, you're being pretty calm and nice about it." He wasn't threatening the new vampire with his life or anything dramatic like that, at least not yet.
no subject
"First of all, it doesn't work that way." Hisoka had heard about some of those movies, even if had never seen any for himself
one small blessing for a strictly traditional family. "Secondly, you're not the first vampire I've met and finally, you did what you did last night out of desperation. If you were a loon or a sociopathic killer then I'd see no reason to be 'nice'." Hopefully Tsuzuki would never learn about this conversation, he's never let him live it down.no subject
"Are there any other vampires here that you know of?" Kyon asked a few moments later. It hadn't crossed his mind earlier that there could be others here dealing with what he was. Hisoka made it sound promising. Maybe he didn't have to be so out in the dark on all of this.
no subject
"You won't find any easily, though, there's always going to be someone afraid of what they don't understand and 'vampires' easily make the list." Right below 'the boogyman' and 'that thing in the dark that should be a toaster, but let's not chance it'.
no subject
This was really more trouble than he'd ever wanted.
"I'm going to try and find Hikaru later today. Hopefully he won't try to stake me or anything." A vague attempt at humor even if he really was worried someone might do it to him before he left this madhouse.
no subject
no subject
That wouldn't end very well.
"I wouldn't blame him if he was afraid of me." A sigh and Kyon stood up from the pew. "I'll try to talk to him anyways." Kyon glanced around looking for a clock of some sort. After finding none in this room he gave a polite nod to Hisoka as if pardoning himself from the conversation. "Better do it now before they end the shift ...Ah, thanks for understanding, really."
no subject
Maybe Kyon was a masochist...?
"I don't know what you're talking about." Hisoka stood and stepped in the aisle before Kyon could argue his point. It would only fluster the empath further and things were bad enough.
