Day 69: Intercom, Evening
Patients might hear the wind blowing outside as the intercom turned on and they were gradually moved from the courtyard or somewhere surrounding the Sun Room and back to their rooms. The wind made a howling noise, something that almost seemed to hint at what was to come when darkness hit and night began.
But for now, everything was as pleasant as it always was during the day, with the Head Doctor chiming in to explain what was on the menu this evening.
"I'm sure you all had a nice, relaxing day as you continue on your journey toward good health, but now it's time to head back to your rooms and have dinner with your roommate before lights out. Tonight we're serving some seasoned salmon with rice pilaf on the side, and for those of you who are vegetarians we have a black eyed pea soup along with a dinner roll.
"Whatever you're having tonight, eat up and get some rest! We'll be seeing you again tomorrow!"
The nurses didn't say much about the fact that some patients had roommates who had been missing for a few days now. Normally there would be someone to take their place, but that didn't seem to be the case for a few people. The mystery behind that was clearly one that was going to remain unanswered, but at least the patients had a hot plate of food waiting for them on their desks.

Tsubaki still occasionally found it frustrating, herself. There didn't seem to be much anyone could about it except persevere, however.
She smiled a little. "I didn't do much else, either. It was a quiet night." She picked up fork, then glanced at the other girl again. "How was your day? I hope people have continued to be helpful."

There wasn't really a way to put a positive spin on passing out every single night and inexplicably waking up in the same spot a person had started out in. It was downright creepy, actually.
"I'm glad you're making friends, though! The day is a nice time to catch up and meet more people."

That or Korra had managed to forget it already.
But in spite of the nice amount of time to recuperate, it was frustrating not being able to do anything.

"Oh, good. Having some people to talk to will help make things a little easier, I'm sure," she said, nodding.
Tsubaki couldn't say she knew that many people herself, but that was more or less because the people she had known had gone missing. However common the phenomena, she couldn't warn Korra to be wary of happening to the people she might meet; doing so felt like a little like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
She tried a small bite of the food before continuing on. "Will you go out again tonight?"

And hope the night didn't end before she had hardly gotten anywhere.

"I see... Well! I made copies of some maps today, if you need one?" she said, tilting her head.
If the other girl wouldn't accept a knife, maybe she would accept that if she hadn't already gotten a map from somewhere else. Making copies had been more productive than doing nothing, at least, even if it provided only a false sense of comfort.

"Anything I can help you with?" Probably not, but she felt like she at least ought to offer. Tsubaki had been helpful and nice to her these past two nights.

Approaching Korra's bed, she held them out for the other girl to take. Hopefully they would be of some use. Tsubaki had sketched out each area, labelling them carefully with names and note on whether or not the doors were locked. The few areas left blank were those that required key access, something she didn't know many people having.
Korra's offer to help her in return made her smile, but she had to shake her head. "It's all right, it's enough knowing you'll be careful out there."

"I guess all we do now is wait for Intercom Guy." She laid back in her bed, resting her hands behind her head. Korra was slightly distracted, tonight. She missed home.
