NIGHT 65: MAIN HALLWAY, 1-WEST

[From here]

The main hallways. Good. And the coast seemed to be clear, so far. Link briefly wondered if the new clue would help the situation, or only make it more grim. He would know soon enough.

"Hey!" Claude called as he approached the pair alongside Guy. "Sorry we're late." Sure enough, Luke and Anise seemed to be in one piece and good health, which was about all he could have asked for at that moment. His body instantly relaxed, and he was relieved that they wouldn't have to potentially fight one of their own for now.

That didn't mean they were out of the woods yet, though. He and Anise were still sick, and maybe even time bombs waiting to go off. When Claude thought about it that way, his stomach churned, and he thought back on the dark figure attacking the patients in the hall behind them.

They needed to hurry. Thankfully, Guy already told them that he'd explained the plan to Claude. There was nothing else for him to do except wait to get a confirmation from Luke and Anise.

It was still a bit unsettling to have to wait, especially as more and more minutes passed, but it was comforting to have Luke nearby. No one around them seemed to be changing, and Anise felt more or less the same level of awful that she'd felt since the beginning of the night. She hoped that wouldn't change for the worse.

Fortunately, it wasn't too long until Guy and Claude emerged from the nearby hallway. Anise could relate to Guy's relief... but it was a bit chilling to imagine what he had been fearing up until that moment. With five people transforming, there had been a good chance that Anise or Claude was among them. No - they couldn't even be sure they were in the clear yet.

Anise couldn't quite muster up a cheerful greeting with those kinds of ominous thoughts in her head, but she was able to force a thin smile. They needed to get moving, more than anything. "We're ready. Let's go!"
