Renji wasn't certain how he'd gotten from the room with Sora and Nowe back to his bed. He scrambled up and quickly checked; everything that he'd tucked into his clothes was still there, including the trauma shears and the start of the map. He quickly hid those things wherever they would fit - and not be too obvious. Hopefully Nowe and Sora had been safely returned to their rooms as well.

He didn't like it. He really didn't enjoy feeling even more like a passenger in his own life.

The head doctor, cheery on the intercom, was seriously getting on his nerves. Then the nurse showed up to collect him. She was annoying. He was quiet, and shuffled obediently after her, all the while contemplating just how good it would feel to punch any of the nurses, but this one in particular, in the back of the head.

Again, no rice. He got himself eggs, sausage, and toast, as well as a glass of juice. He sat down somewhere he'd have a good view of the door and started picking at his food.

"Where the hell are we now?" Normally Mal would have let his curses fall into a string of Chinese, but he got the feeling Zelos wouldn't have a clue what he was saying. It was a subconscious admittance that not all of the patients were from the same universe as him.

It would have been in his best interest to act like he knew what was doing even if he didn't, simply so that his traveling partner wouldn't call him on his mistake, but Mal hadn't thought that far ahead. He glanced at the younger man and sighed.

What now? Well, they could either keep looking or see where their wandering led them.

As Albel navigated through the hallways, he decided to go a completely different way then he went last night. However, he had no idea where he was heading. Eventually, he reached the end of the hallway he was currently in and found himself staring at a door. He briefly wondered if it was locked. He turned the door handle...

...and he was greeted with the cold air from outside. Outside? He was slightly suprised.

This didn't mean he could get his hopes up on finding a way out by climbing over some fence or wall. The Ellicoorian doubted it'd be this easy. No, he couldn't let his guard down. Perhaps something was waiting for him out there, and even though Albel didn't like to admit it, he wasn't exactly well equiped for a fight. Especially if he ran into the same monster he ran into last night. Albel was vurnerable, and he knew it. And most of all, he loathed it.

On his right there was a fence, while on his left there was a large field. More he couldn't see because of the darkness, and his flashlight didn't reach that far.

The captain closed the door behind him and moved onward.

After finding his way out into the hallways, Mal continued to move almost without thinking. He made note of a stairway - heading up would probably be a good idea, but he could leave that for later. There was a long, wide hallway that led down one way, but he doubted the female block was in that direction. Which only left the other way.

He had to skirt around a young blond who seemed a bit too dignified to be in a place like this and a younger, dark-haired kid who looked like he was going to pounce the first guy. If Mal understood the situation a little better, he may have wanted to warn the older one, but it wasn't his business and he'd gotten into a good deal of trouble in the past by butting in on things.

Instead, he took a turn to the right into another hallway. This was going to get confusing very quickly. He squinted. Was that a door? It was difficult to try and contain himself to the immediate area when he knew that if he simply traveled a little farther, he'd probably run into something interesting.

How was he supposed to find Zoe in the whole female block, anyway? She probably wouldn't have wasted any time getting on the move herself and there was a chance that he missed her. No, maybe it was better if he continued to wander on his own...

Xigbar had been a bit impatient to go, to be honest. He'd wolfed down his food and been generally antsy, tugging on the door and wanting to just... go.

The only thing that had distracted him was a simple experiment he conducted. The door to his room? When he tried to teleport past it during the interminable and aggressively boring intercom speech, he couldn't. And yet he knew that he could do so if it was unlocked... it made him wonder. He'd have to talk with Zexion about it. Later.

Right now the door was literally open, and Xigbar was out like a shot. He wanted to get to the meeting fast so he might actually get some meaningful conversation done before the neophytes more unsavory elements descended and ruined things.

So run he did, right out the door and down the hallway, taking his things with him as he went.

((And run he did, to here.))

After the potato chips, a soda, and the rest of Wilson's sandwich, House's stomach felt pretty damn satisfied even if his mind didn't. Everyone in this place was the same, it seemed: Equally annoying and equally uninteresting. He'd expected some amount of variation among the (diagnostically boring and easily explained) symptoms of psychosis and delusional misidentification syndrome, but so far, all the patients had seemed like your typical private mental hospital fare: Rehab for richies.

Whiny richies.

The only thing that had been going for him was the higher chance among this kind of population of some unknown disease that would make someone's kidneys explode coming up, but seeing as everyone from his first sessions had seemed so (unfortunately) coherent, that possibility was looking bleaker and bleaker by the second. He wondered once again at Cuddy's nonsensical idea of punishing him by boredom, and though he might have vowed to not do paperwork for a month once he came back to Princeton, the threat was moot for the fact that he wouldn't have planned to do any of it in the first place.

House frowned and leaned forward, cranking up the sound on his iPod, which was currently connected to a pair of headphones that he then donned over his ears. Not that he was doing it out of any kind of consideration for other people; he wanted to give off the impression that bothering him wasn't worth the trouble.

And it probably wasn't.

That had been unpleasant.

Grimacing to himself, Kadaj followed his nurse to the arts & crafts room in relative silence, head down and arms crossed over his chest as he trudged slowly forward. It wasn't so much the incident during breakfast that was bothering him, and in fact if anything he thought it was absolutely hilarious, but arguing with what seemed like half the population of Landel's on the bulletin board hadn't really done much to improve his state of mind. Not much really did.

At least Yazoo was here now. That was something. Unfortunately, the other silver-haired man wasn't in the same group as Kadaj so it would be awhile yet before he got to talk to him again. Horrible thought, to be split up from him after they'd only just been (HA) reunited, but Landel's had probably planned it that way. They would, after keeping him away from his family for so long. And where was Loz?!

He was getting angry again. Shutting his eyes tightly for a moment, he didn't realize they had arrived at their destination until the nurse gently called his name to get his attention. His eyes snapped open again, and after giving her a vicious glare, he stalked into the room and found a nice, secluded area to sit in, utterly baffled at the presence of... candy and frosting?! Just what the hell were they planning?! Well, he wasn't going to fall victim to it, whatever it was. They could try this on someone else.

Letting out a long, drawn out sigh, he closed his eyes again and made an effort to compose himself. The more unstable he became, the more childish he became, and it was all too likely he'd lash out at the first person who talked to him. He couldn't let that happen. Mother would be disappointed. Yes. He had to think of her. She wouldn't want him to let the people here get to him. He would persevere. She'd be so proud when she saw him again. Ha ha...

A much more familiar expression of smug self-assurance began to creep onto his features, and he let it slowly grow until he at least looked like his usual self. There, see? All better.

Scar felt as if he'd passed out as soon as he'd gotten to his bed due to the admittedly strong fatigue and pain that having a badly injured arm tended to cause a person to feel, even one as conditioned and battle-worn as the stern-faced Ishbalan. He woke up feeling rested but regretful, and his fear that he'd wasted a Nightshift ripe with the possibility of discovered items and means of escape was confirmed as the intercom's metallic voice came forth and a bright-faced nurse opened the door and beckoned him towards the burly orderlies who were supposed to take him to breakfast.

The Ishbalan frowned a deep, dark frown. He wasn't quite sure if he could count the shameful number of days that he'd spent like an animal in a cage, and at this point, he wasn't sure if he wanted to.

He'd been tired lately, after all; perhaps some of the sentiment of hopelessness that certain other patients tended to exude was contagious for those who had seen more than their fair share of life and its losses. But no; simply wading in self-pity was no way to get things done; to use one's own self-loathing and use it as a motivation in the struggle for redemption--that was the salvation that Scar truly sought. Last night had fallen victim to physical exhaustion, but tonight he would increase his efforts tenfold to make up for the lapse into lethargy.

First, however--pancakes.

The days of the breadbasket seemed to be long gone as Scar entered the near-empty cafeteria with some feeling of foreboding that he was the first one to get his meal and sit down. He'd gotten pancakes and sausage, and more than a few fruits, not for the fact that he especially trusted the food here but for the fact that fresh goods had been few and far in between upon the harsh lands of Ishbal.

Scar's red eyes darted from the nearest nurse to the main entrance, and with hunger and thirst that no logic could quench, began starting in on the food.

The intercom came on not too long after its past announcement, sporting a bored sigh and a loud yawn from what must have been the mouth of the Head Doctor.

"Ugh, I suppose you people aren't even done yet. Lists and names, lists and names... They never end, you see, even when I've exhausted myself with anecdotes that none of you truly have the intelligence to comprehend. Ignorant, the lot of you. Perhaps Andrew Hill, Sara Jones, Jon Williams, and Daniel Wright will be more receptive to my words, but you never really know with these things, do you?"

His chair squeaked, as if he was twirling or rocking in it, and he gave a slight laugh as it creaked to a halt.

"That's it from me for tonight! Bedtime, my sweets, but not for you. No, no, no, you still have a bit more to sit through. Me? I need my beauty rest. Found plenty of candy tonight."

And away went the static-filled voice from the halls, leaving as much of an eerie silence as usual.

(Coming from here)

Lyta's original guess that this was some sort of hospital facility was only supported as she moved about the halls. She had noticed a commotion in the hallway outside of her room, a group of people giving off hectic and frantic emotions, but had ignored it. She wasn't about to get herself tangled up in anything before she knew where she was and why. A bit cold, maybe, but Lyta had her priorities.

She found herself in another hallway. Stark walls, doors to either side, strange echoing sounds all around her... what was this place? The technology seemed primitive - manual locks and tumblers, no comms on the wall, an ancient flashlight in the room, no sounds of anything within the walls. Neither her physical ear or her mental ear could pick up any of the background noises she was used to on a ship or on Earth. She'd visited primitive planets with G'kar, and this had the feel of them.

But why was she here? And why was she dressed in strange clothing? Was G'kar around somewhere? If her abilities were working normally, she wouldn't have to wonder. But they weren't, so it looked like for now she was going to have to do things the old fashioned way. Great.

Sighing to herself and rolling her eyes, Lyta began advancing down the corridor.
