Night 51: M-C Block Hallway

[From here]

Now where had Knives said her room was? Scott reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the crumpled napkin she had written the number on at breakfast. F30. Okay. Assuming the girls' block worked the same way the guys' one did and wasn't some alternate dimensional maze that only people with boobs (twitch) would understand, Scott was pretty sure he could find the right room.

"And I know it's inevitable considering this is ... well, you we're talking about, but since we're going monster hunting and whatnot, you have to promise me you are not going to go completely crazy," Bella told Edward with a stern look. "As in not protect yourself because you're too busy worrying over me."

"And another thing," she suddenly remembered, looking down at the ground as she bit her lip, "I know of where we can easily find something to kill, if that's what you two are so interested in. It'll work - I know it will. We just have to go into one of the bathrooms and wait."

Though Edward knew there was some humor to be garnered out of her promise, he was completely serious when he responded, "I'm not promising anything." Not that it was necessarily his fault; Edward was not a soldier when he or his kin were in danger, though at one point in his life it was the one thing he'd wanted to be. He was all guts, all instinct when on the hunt, and enough of his control would be focused on not harming either of his companions and protecting both as well as he could, though Bella would always be the priority. Even if he did agree to promise he wouldn't "go crazy", it was mostly likely he would break it.

"As for that thing in the mirrors," he said, the word thing clearly gripped by a hatred that was evident in the way his grip tightened on hers, "it may be an acceptable idea. It's a better plan than wandering the hallways and hoping to come across something none of us have any experience with."
