Night 47: West Wing, South Hall 1-B

( from here. )

So far, so good. Kairi tried to move as quietly as she could, not wanting to attract any kind of baddies that could be lurking in the shadows. ... And lest she forget actually crazy patients. Then again, she doubted she'd ever forget that incident.

Oh well, she was almost there. No time to think about past injuries.

If Asuka had any question about Junpei being able to step up to the plate when something wicked came to chomp on them, the way Junpei immediately started to look around for monsters in the hallway, the slightest tensing in his muscles with the anticipation of a fight, should be answer enough. This place was a lot like the first block of Tartarus, only instead of being a freaky blood-covered warped version of Gekkoukan High, it was a freaky blood-covered (if only in his mind - he wasn't going to forget the bleeding walls night) warped version of the insane aylum. Oh, excuse him - a freaky, blood-covered warped version of everyone's favorite Barney sing-a-long show.

So far, so good... "You went to the rec field today, right?"

She was surprised to see Junpei actively watching the hallway for anything suspicious that could be lurking. Not that it changed her opinion on him much; it took more than survival common sense to warm her up. Regardless, Asuka was not going to be lulled into a false sense of security just because the male of this relationship was taking the lead. Never let a boy do her job, since she was fifty times better at it anyway.

With that in mind, the little redhead swiveled her head back and forth, flashlight at the ready in case she needed to blind someone (again).

"Mmmm no, I kinda wished I had, but I stayed in the sun room after lunch. I was catching up on all the notes on the bulletin board. Do you ever use that thing?"

"Sometimes," Junpei replied. "Mostly to troll others to pass the time, hence why the courtyard is generally known as the Courtyard of Badtouch." He was rather proud of that one.

"But since they stuck all those new monitoring rules on it, it's not as useful as it had been before. You used to be able to get maps and something like a monster compendium like you'd see in a video game."

Courtyard of Badtouch?

What?! Who--wh--ah--Damn, Asuka really had nothing to retort with. She reminded herself that Junpei was a male high schooler. They were like hyenas.

"Oh, huh..." The redhead had noticed extensively the lengths in which the patients had to disguise their intentions. "Hey, do you know anything about those clubs, like the arts and craft club and like the--what was it?-- history club? The guy I asked hadn't really known much besides they helped with protection or something like that..."

"Kinda," Junpei replied. "There also used to be one called the Cooking Club, but I think it died."

...that was probably a bad choice of words to use.
