Night 47: F-A Block Hallway

( from here. )

One thing Kairi couldn't help but admit was that her room now was a lot closer to the door than her old one was. It was practically a hop, skip, and a jump away! Not bad at all.

... Not that she was lazy or anything. She wasn't the lazy one of the group. Certainly not.

Either way, Kairi continued down the hallway and out the door with ease, careful to watch her step.

Asuka's breath shallowed when she reached the opening of her hallway and saw a dark figure pressed against the wall. Her face automatically closed up into a focused scowl as she lifted her flashlight and shown the weak yellow light across the object.

"Well..." She began, trying to hide her embarrassment for getting so easily worked up. It had only been Junpei and heaven help her if she ever looked at him as a threat. "... at least you weren't late..." Though she was pretty pissed he had reached their meeting point before her.

Remembering to put up her sweet facade, Asuka's features softened when she stopped beside him. "Ready?"

Geeze, it's not like there's a damn mirror in the room to spend hours sticking makeup on and doing your hair over and over again until you got it right. Seriously, I'm a whole block over and I had to grab the Evoker from Yuka-tan.

That Junpei complained solely in his head, knowing better than to utter a single word about Asuka being late. In fact, he wasn't going to acknowledge anything regarding who arrived when at all. He may be a glutton for punishment, but even he knew chicks didn't like ti when you pointed out their mess-ups.

The junior pushed the dark blue baseball cap up (gods he loved having a hat on again - too bad it wasn't his beloved hat) and flashed a smile at the redhead. "Only if you are," he said, free hand taking the baseball bat back up and resting it on his shoulder.

He then offered his other arm for her to take, as if escorting her through a fancy hall and not some creepy, decayed evil building that would probablly try to eat them at any moment.

"Yep, all set," She replied with a tilt of her head, red hair spilling over her shoulders. Ugh! She needed her bloody barrettes back so she could put up her hair! She looked like an unkempt ragamuffin without them! Asuka's eyes followed the motion of Junpei's baseball ball that he tucked behind his shoulder, momentarily forgetting about her sour thoughts. Well, at least they had some protection while they traversed this crazy ass place, though she wondered if the guy had the balls to do what was necessary if ever the time came to lay the smackdown on some crazy patient or whatever else roamed these halls.

Probably best if they just hurried and got Asuka her own weapon. She knew exactly what to do.

"Ohhhh..." The second child tried to keep any hesitation out of her sudden outburst as her chauffeur for the night gave her his arm. Grinning brightly while her stomach churned, the young girl looped her thin arm through his. "Thank you..." Asuka's bright face turned from Junpei to scowl at the darkness around them, waiting for the high school to lead the way.

Awww man... he so wanted to brush that hair back over Asuka's shoulder, but he was afraid she'd smack him or something if he did. At least if he did right now. Maybe later, after they got to know each other a little better, he'd be allowed to touch without the ingrained teenage boy fear of a feisty hot babe giving him a kick to the junk.

Still, he grinned when she accepted his arm. "Stay close," he said with a wink before taking them out into the hallway.
