Night 45: Main Hallway, 1-West
[from here]
Once away from the safety of the patient block, Momo slowed down as she traveled along the left hand wall to cover her blind spot. In this position, she could easily draw her sword and deal with issues as they arose. Hopefully, there would be none.
Momo had too much on her mind to want to deal with anything she didn't have to.

"Depends what you intend to do," she said unhelpfully. "If you want to die, just head in any direction away from the patient rooms alone and unarmed like you are and I'm sure you'll find something fatal soon enough; this place has no shortage of nastiness. Otherwise, you'll have to be a little more specific."

"Um, I'm mostly just exploring. I know there's dangerous stuff out there, but I'm not scared about that. I'll keep going no matter what."
He remembered what Javert had said, earlier. "Oh! You don't need any help or anything, do you?"

"That's the exact kind of attitude you can find your death with," she chuckled darkly at his determination. She wondered if anyone had warned him that his abilities would be dampened here. "Especially in an unknown situation like the one you're in."
The question was met with slightly flat stare; while she was looking for strength in numbers, the particular phrasing did imply helplessness on her part. Not exactly worth making a fuss over, however.
"Are you offering?" she asked instead, a slightly sinister smile on her face. "I'm not one to turn down volunteers."

He wondered if he'd said something, for her to look at him like that. Hopefully not! He wasn't looking to make anyone upset at all.
"Sure, I don't mind," he said, his smile returning. It would give him some real direction, and some company, if nothing else. "I'm Allen Walker. Nice to meet you, um..."

"Just call me Hime," said the Royal. She took a moment to check the surrounding area, but didn't see Teresa yet; it wouldn't have been hard to spot her if she had been present. "We're actually waiting for one more; she's the other leader in this little expedition to the other side of the institute."
Of course, if Hime was a leader and Teresa was a leader, where did that leave Allen?

When Teresa hadn't spotted Hime in the hallway immediately outside the female barracks, she assumed the girl had headed toward the front as that was the general direction they would be heading and, if she recalled correctly, a commonly traveled location. Some hapless idiot would surely cross through there for the heiress to find.
Sure enough, when the tall warrior entered the hallway, something very large and metal strapped across her back, she found Hime talking to an even younger boy. Her eyes focused on the boy when she drew near them. The boy was human, she could sense that, but she could feel the faintest trace of youki on him. It was so faint that the odds were the boy wasn't even aware of the things he may have been interacting with.
"How kind of you to wait," she said to Hime, though her silver eyes were still upon the boy. In the dark, the patch of wetness on the front of Teresa's shirt from Euphemia's tears wasn't easily noticed, not that she expected Hime to ask about it or her conversation with the girl's roommate.
"And you are?" she asked the boy.

Allen looked at the newcomer. Well, she didn't waste any words, did she? That was okay, though. He was used to following orders, so if helping these two women meant going along with it, he'd be all right. Anyway, it wasn't like he knew anything at all about this place, so following was a better idea than leading.
"Allen Walker," he said, in answer to the lady's question.

"Allen just arrived here, so he's got nothing on his agenda other than going somewhere alone to get eaten," she said with a more amused look on her face. "I suggested he accompany us instead and he agreed. Now the only question left is our destination; you said something about the other side of the institute?"
Hime had only seen the maps perhaps once or twice at a glance before today when the nurses stopped allowing the spread of such information on the bulletin. The only things she particularly remembered of interest on the far side were the doctor's offices.
no subject
"I see." Her lips curled up. "How foolishly brave."
Teresa hadn't gotten a chance to see anything on the eastern half of the institute and was really only looking to get a better lay of the land. This was why if the girl had a better destination in mind, the warrior would have no issue with the change. As it was, it seemed Hime did not have anything better in mind, though her goals could very well have rested in the place she was heading to begin with.
"Yes. I have had very little opportunity to see what is on that side. There may be something useful there." A pause. "Or at least interesting." Possibly entertaining. Something to keep her from getting bored. The more bored Teresa got, the more likely she was the indulge in her favorite past-time. While entertaining for her, it would certainly not be for the poor human with the two females.

Oh well.
"Well, Teresa, nice to meet you, too! I'll just go along with you, since I'm not sure where anything really is yet."
He wasn't sure how big the place was, but he didn't want to sound stupid and ask. He'd learn. That's what this was about, right?

"Let us be off; time here can be short or long."
