Night 44: Grand Ballroom

[From here]

Dahlia made her way over to the fountain first thing and went to sit down next to it. Believe it or not, her feet were still aching from last night and just because this room never stopped being gorgeous did not mean she stopped being sensible. If there was something going on soon, she needed to be ready for it.

Hmph. More like ready to push either one of these brats into the fray instead of dealing with it herself. Either or, she'd need to rest for a little while. May as well drop her bag for now while she was at it, too; the strap was bugging the bandaged gash along her back.

She wasn't dumb though. She kept one of her hands on it just in case someone got grabby.

"So, um." She brought her other hand to her mouth, thinking to herself. Did she dare ask now? Or was Syncie going to keep some more secrets from her? "What do we do now?"

The door they'd used last time and the door opposite looked to have the same carvings decorating them, but this one was entirely different. That was interesting enough, but the marks that Sakura pointed out were even more so. If the sword they'd found in the archery range truly did belong in one of the indentations (and it did seem to be the right size, as far as Yue could tell) then what were they supposed to use for the other one?

Perhaps the other object was what they needed to obtain from whatever lay beyond the opposite door. That could explain why two of the doors looked near-identical but this one was different: the rooms had to be visited in turn? It seemed logical enough.

Yue nodded slightly to Touya's question, still frowning thoughtfully at the door for a moment longer. "It returned with me." And was currently hidden in his closet, behind Yukito's stash of snacks, because he hadn't thought it terribly useful.

The guardian finally turned away and started toward the next door without looking back, knowing that the other two would follow. He was impatient, restless with the need to accomplish something tonight; he wanted to get both Sakura and Touya away from here and out of danger as quickly as he possibly could.
