Night 44: Main Hall, 2-West

[To here]

After reaching the top of the stairs, Tenzen slipped into the next hallway. This time, the hallway consisted out of a normal floor, ceiling and walls, as opposed to the pulsing flesh from last night.

Sliding his hand along the wall, the ninja kept his flashlight switched off as he headed East.

"Oh?" Hanatarou paused in the doorway at Nataku's comment, a little startled. He'd been fairly certain the two of them were going to be horribly late, after how long he'd taken helping Haku, but...maybe he wasn't about to be frowned at for tardiness. That was a relief.

As he followed his companion out into the hallway proper, though, he glanced around himself and caught sight of Taura. Weren't they supposed to be meeting her, too? Good, so there was someone else to --

And there he paused, halting in mid-step and standing in frozen wide-eyed terror. Even the arrival of Homura and Kenren didn't register with him, or the sound of the voice behind him. All he could hear was that noise, the awful rattling noise he remembered all too well from that night when he'd been with Kira and the ghost and the hair. Was this part of the curse, too, not being able to get away from her?

After a second of struggle he managed to squeak out a faint, "Run!" The last thing they needed was to have to deal with a ghost they couldn't even fight and he should really be running but his feet didn't seem to want to move no matter how much he told them to.

Nataku nodded at Kenren and Homura as they approached. It was hard to make out details without a light, but the scent of blood was as heavy as their silence. Nataku said nothing. Since Homura chose to order instead of explain, he focused on the task at hand for now.

The rattling that filled the hallway immediately after was less alarming than Hanatarou's reaction to it. Monsters he expected, but something that could petrify the healer so throughly..? This was probably something they really didn't want to fight.

"Lets go. I'll get her." He dashed off, trusting Homura and Kenren to look after Hanatarou.

Hanatarou's yelp earned him a raised eyebrow, only because Homura had long since stopped being the type who ran from a danger, particularly out of fear. Whatever he knew seemed to almost freeze him in place, and the demi-god could only hope that once they did leave the hall, the healer would regain his composure.

Nataku was quick to react, the decisiveness characteristic of a taishi on the battlefield. There hesitation would lead to death, so Homura both understood and approved of the boy's quick movements. He acted similarly, grabbing Hanatarou by the belt tied around his waste, and heading down the hall.

"Nataku! Head towards the balcony over the Sun Room." Homura could wait in the hall after he'd opened the door for Kenren and Hantarou, but he wasn't willing to shout out which door that was in the middle of a crowded hall. The interest in that room had been growing, and Homura didn't yet want it made common knowledge that his group had access to it.

With a nod towards Kenren and Hanatarou still in tow, he began moving.
