Day 44: Lunch

That had been a very frustrating shower. For many reasons. At least Raine was going to at least look at Forte. Hopefully, she'll actually heal him. The showers had also succeeded in making the ninja feel like a pervert. A mild one, but still... It was as if Yukari had picked that spot in the showers because she knew the ninja could easily see her.

Ugh! Damn youkai.

Squirreling herself away in a corner of the cafeteria, Sheena finger combed her wet hair before pulling it back with the bright red ribbon. She so needed her own hair ribbon back. She was attempting to formulate her plan of acquisition - she was ninja after all - as people started trickling into the room. The plan was put on pause, though, when her stomach rumbled.

Food now - plan later.

Artemis watched Allelujah for a moment, a mysterious smile on his lips. Behind the expression, he was thinking--considering what would happen if he told Allelujah that Artemis already knew he had MPD and killed people. Allelujah might be upset with Badou for offering up this information without Allelujah's permission, and the boy couldn't see any reason to divulge his knowing. Allelujah seemed to trust him enough to let Artemis know he had a psychological disease, so earning his trust wasn't an issue. And he also seemed to respect Artemis as a leader, even if he was only fourteen.

The boy continued to smile and nodded. "I appreciate you telling me. Though, I must say, I'm working with sociopaths, born killers, and a man who gets more than a little edgy when he hasn't smoked in a while. I hope you don't expect me to give you special treatment," he said with a small laugh.

"If you're concerned about my own safety, seeing as most of the people around me can take care of themselves, Haku is more than capable of keeping me in one piece--and he can most likely keep your other personality in check long enough. Granted, he won't get between you and your target unless I tell him to or he's trying to attack me. So you don't have to worry about hurting me of all people."

He practically slumped with relief when Artemis not only accepted it, but just didn't seem to care. People here were strange. He managed a smile at the joke. "Nothing of the sort," he agreed, smile widening a touch. "I've never met people who were so accepting of it. Even my own teammates from my own world don't know. Officially at least." What they knew unofficially he wasn't sure. Tieria probably knew more than he let on, and Setsuna had walked in on that awkward conversation that he'd been having with Hallelujah once.

"I'm relieved to hear that. He... I..." he grimaced, trying to figure out what he should even be saying. "We can be indiscriminate when it comes to it." although they seemed to have come to some agreement recently, it still wasn't enough. If they seemed like a threat then he couldn't promise that they would be safe.

"Understandable," Artemis said simply, continuing with his meal. "A lot of people with multiple personality disorder have a 'protective' personality that manifests when the person is in danger or otherwise upset. That personality exists to protect, by any means necessary. Some can't even talk, their purpose is so singular.

"But enough about that. I expect that a violent personality would be indiscriminate. What exactly do you specialize in? What fields do you have experience or knowledge in?" Artemis asked with a smile. "It will help me match you with appropriate tasks and other people who can fill in the blanks or complement your abilities."

"He can talk," Allelujah said with a faint smirk, amused by the idea. Sometimes it was getting him to stop talking that was the problem. He usually talked about things that Allelujah would rather not discuss too, but he supposed that was to be expected. He made him face the things that he didn't want to face. And he didn't just protect, he was sadistic about it which was something that Allelujah still had trouble accepting.

He blinked when Artemis asked what he specialised in. "I kill people," he said awkwardly. That probably wasn't the best way of putting it. "I'm a soldier. I grew up in a facility that created super soldiers. That's all I've ever been. I suppose... in my world I pilot a mobile suit, a really big piloted robot I suppose. That's what I'm best at. I know some mechanics though."

Artemis tried to seem adequately surprised, but not overly so, at this bit of information as well.

"Ah. I see. Well, I don't think I could enslave the entire alchemist population into creating one of these 'mobile suits' for you, but it's good to know that you can defend yourself if necessary.

"Mechanical knowledge is also excellent. And I suspect if you were trained as a super soldier, you also have some knowledge of urban combat as well." Artemis thought for a moment. He still hadn't gone out to the ruins Momo had told him about. Things just seemed to always come up in one way or another. Perhaps taking both Haku and Allelujah would be sufficient--plus Allelujah might see something Artemis didn't, given his training as a modern soldier. Well, that could wait for now.

"It took decades to develop my organisation's particular mobile suits. I doubt they could be replicated without someone with greater knowledge than I, especially the computer systems and the engines." Of course, someone had spilled the information, led the earth powers to the false GN drives, the ones which destroyed and removed any chance of healing what they injured.

He nodded when Artemis suggested that he was good at urban combat. "I can fight physically, yes. And I'm adaptable. I'll make use of anything that's around as a weapon. I've had a lot of time to think of ways to use lab equipment as weaponry," he added darkly.
