Night 41: Main Hallway, 1-West

[from here]

The main hallway was empty, too. The quiet was broken only by squeak of S.T's shoes on the tile floor and tiny creaks of metal as the toolbox swung as he walked.

This was the part in the horror movie where the cheerleader took a knife to the throat. Good thing he'd left his pom-poms at home. As long as he was the idiot friend or the brains (hell, both) he should make it at least to the third act.

He hurried along, hugging close to the left-hand wall.

With that confirmation, Junior pushed himself off of the wall. "Nice to meet you. That Raphael guy never responded, so it looks like it's just us tonight. I was just waiting a moment to see if anyone else needed someone to travel with."

Speaking of...wasn't that Albedo and Nigredo? Why was his twin sitting like that? Junior thought briefly about offering to take them along, but bringing his brothers along probably wasn't the best idea right now. Especially since Albedo didn't know he went by another name. Hopefully they'd get along okay tonight.

"Anyway, there's a bunch of places both upstairs and down that we could find what we're looking for. The rec field's probably the easiest to get to, with some bats in the shed, so I think we should start there then make our way to the upstairs kitchen. How's that sound?"

Upstairs. That's where he had been aiming to search the previous night before he had been rather unfortunately interrupted by the Shinsengumi's Vice Commander. He didn't even get a chance to peer inside the storage units and had only walked away with more wounds than he did anything else. It wouldn't be to any disadvantage to try again. He highly doubted Hijikata Toshirou would be looking for him again, and if he was, then Takasugi would simply have to find a better way to silence his incessant barking.

Picking himself up from the wall, Takasugi gave the boy a casual shrug, finding no other reason why he should object. "It's fine with me."
