Day 41: Intercom, Evening

When the intercom's jingle sounded, there seemed to be some kind of tapping in the background noise, like letters being punched into a keyboard. It stopped and the Head Doctor chuckled.

"Hello, everyone! I'm actually taking a break from paperwork for once – everyone needs some recreational time, you know! – and of course, now we can all look forward to a scrumptious dinner from our cooks. Tonight, herb-seasoned grilled salmon is on the menu, served with buttery mashed potatoes and asparagus. All our regular drinks and vegetarian options are available, and for dessert, we will be serving yellow cake with a whipped cream icing.

"...Well! I can hardly wait to get my own dinner after saying all that. Good bye for now, everyone, and enjoy your delicious food!"

The intercom clicked off.

"No," Elfangor explained. "However, I was told by my nurse that I have been catatonic for a while."

"Huh, that's new," Yohji said dryly. He'd never heard of anyone being catatonic for a while and then waking up again here, but then again, Aya had been asleep for a long time too. "I'm Yohji."

"Elfangor," the Andalite supplied his true name easily. He doubted he had actually been catatonic but preferred not to know what the 'hospital' had actually done to him during the blank time in his memory. "Do you know a man named Qui-Gon? I met him here before. He would know how long I was gone." He hadn't seen Qui-Gon around during the day but he hadn't really looked for him either. He knew people disappeared here all the time so he was prepared to never see the man again, which was a real shame. The Jedi Master had had a way of calming everyone around him.

He should be used to the weird names by now, but Elfangor definitely had to be up there with the weirdest. He shook his head in answer to the question though. "'fraid not. I think I might've seen his name on the bulletin sometimes, but that's about it. Sorry I can't be more help."

Elfangor shook his head again, after a moment of remembering that that was the right gesture to use here. "It is not your fault."
