Day 41: Sun Room

Haseo's steps were heavy with the weight of righteous anger as he was escorted into the Sun Room, his posture so sullen and reluctant you could almost hear the nostalgic cry of an electric guitar. He was seething, and though perhaps it was a bit harder to be intimidating while wearing the uniform of an insane asylum and flanked by a bored-looking orderly, it was not for lack of trying.

Unfortunately, his nurse seemed unaffected by the act, and even with the cloud of failing to keep "Kai" away from "Peyton" hanging over her, remained determinedly cheerful. She merely said something about receiving a lecture later on, ignored his retorts, and assured him that it would be alright even though his internet stalker was in the same building. For the most part, Haseo tuned her babbling out after that, dismissing it as hopeless.

"...and usually this would be the time children would be taking showers, but you don't have to worry about that right now. Now then, le--"

"Wait. What?"

"Oh, all the children seventeen or under are separated right now while the adults go to the courtyard..."

"Hey, I'm not a kid you old--!"

"Oh of course you aren't dear, but you're not eighteen yet either, now are you?"

Haseo resisted the urge to do something rash, literally biting his tongue to keep quiet. But upon having the bulletin board pointed out to him, he shrugged off his anger for the most part and headed that way, fully intending to get more answers than he'd had time to receive during breakfast.

Well... at least Endrance is in another shower group, he thought, Thank god.

[Closed to Tsukasa, for now!]

"Worse?" Trunks's mind was already whirling--how was this place transporting people through time and space? Was it something like the time machine his mother had invented, on a grand scale? The amount of energy that would require would be astronomical--not to mention impractical. Either way, they really wanted these people to be here--unaware and against their will.

And it could apparently even drag people back from the dead, whole and unharmed.

Kibitoshin was certainly right about one thing, Trunks was very uneasy--he was downright nervous. Why would anyone go through so much effort? It couldn't be for any good reason.

And now things only seemed to getting more difficult for Trunks. Kibitoshin winced inwardly; the last thing he wanted to do was make things even worse for him, but there really was no easy way of breaking this kind of thing to someone. At least he wasn't freaking out all over the place. Not like he had, anyway...

"At night they let everyone out of their rooms so that they can explore, but there are monsters everywhere. Some nights, I hear they take people for experimentation or brainwash them into attacking people." He toed the floor anxiously, glancing sideways at Trunks. "I only got here a little while ago, so I can't tell you much more."

"...that's fine, we'll both find out eventually, I guess." Monsters? And here he felt so weak...

"At least if they let us all out, we can meet up at night. It probably isn't safe to go anywhere alone." He looked over at Kibitoshin. "But I don't know what room I woke up in, and I can't really sense any ki. It's like...hearing static, almost."

"Wait, you can't sense anything?" Kibitoshin blinked, nonplussed. "That's weird. It's faint, but I can definitely sense the ki energy in this room. I hear they can weaken people's powers here, so maybe that's it? I'm usually pretty sensitive so that could be why I can still feel it."

Poor Trunks... it must have been like someone had switched the world's sound off when he wasn't paying attention. Sensing ki was just one of those things he'd always taken for granted, but the idea of it vanishing suddenly was oddly disturbing. "Travelling together would definitely help, though. I hear they have clubs so that people can work together here."

"I can sense it, but it's coming from everywhere at once. I can't pick anything out." It was almost like listening to music too loud, he thought. He couldn't pick the beat out from the lyrics, till it all became nothing but noise.

He sighed. "I don't know." He also couldn't know how much of his power he had left. It couldn't be much. If only his father were here...

But he wasn't, and wishing that Vegeta was in this place would mean that he was trapped like the both of them. Not that his father would stand for that. "Maybe we should see about helping one of them..."

Kibitoshin screwed up his face sympathetically. "That's awful. Maybe it'll clear up at night? Someone told me some people can use their powers better then." And now he'd managed to get Trunks down too. Oh, why did he always have to be the bearer of bad news?

Maybe he should change the subject. "Right!" he agreed eagerly, forcing as much enthusiasm into his voice as he could in an attempt to try and lift the mood. "That way we could really try and make a difference here!" The following air-punch was probably a little too much, all things considered, but if it helped at all...?
