Day 41: Sun Room
Haseo's steps were heavy with the weight of righteous anger as he was escorted into the Sun Room, his posture so sullen and reluctant you could almost hear the nostalgic cry of an electric guitar. He was seething, and though perhaps it was a bit harder to be intimidating while wearing the uniform of an insane asylum and flanked by a bored-looking orderly, it was not for lack of trying.
Unfortunately, his nurse seemed unaffected by the act, and even with the cloud of failing to keep "Kai" away from "Peyton" hanging over her, remained determinedly cheerful. She merely said something about receiving a lecture later on, ignored his retorts, and assured him that it would be alright even though his internet stalker was in the same building. For the most part, Haseo tuned her babbling out after that, dismissing it as hopeless.
"...and usually this would be the time children would be taking showers, but you don't have to worry about that right now. Now then, le--"
"Wait. What?"
"Oh, all the children seventeen or under are separated right now while the adults go to the courtyard..."
"Hey, I'm not a kid you old--!"
"Oh of course you aren't dear, but you're not eighteen yet either, now are you?"
Haseo resisted the urge to do something rash, literally biting his tongue to keep quiet. But upon having the bulletin board pointed out to him, he shrugged off his anger for the most part and headed that way, fully intending to get more answers than he'd had time to receive during breakfast.
Well... at least Endrance is in another shower group, he thought, Thank god.
[Closed to Tsukasa, for now!]

"Religious capital, huh? Ain't surprising. Those religious people dun' really approve of stuff like that." The Noah said. "Then again, they dun' approve of anythin'."
Which was exactly why he didn't like religion. All the fun things were forbidden by God. People believing in that guy only ended up restricting themselves just because they wanted to go to heaven. Tyki pitied those people, binded by the chains of God.

"A girl can't even make some honest money, but they let all the real crooks get away." Out of all the con artists that preyed on people like her parents, the only ones that seemed to get caught where the ones Anise chased down herself. And even that was hardly any, since most didn't leave a trail.

"I bet they're wonderin' why people resort to dishonest stuff, eh?" he continued. Well, sometimes it was pretty easy to resort to such ways. Unless you ended up behind bars, but you were definitely doing something wrong in that case. It was only a matter of not getting caught!

The stranger's next comment made Anise pause. For a moment, it almost seemed like he was describing her situation, even though it was impossible for him to know anything about it. Maybe it was more common than she thought for people to get stuck in ugly situations like hers, where the only way out was through doing things she didn't want to ever do... Maybe even the con artists that bothered her parents were victims of the messed up system, too... not that it would make Anise forgive them even if that were the case.
"Hehe. I guess it really should be easy to see," she agreed after a moment. Hopefully that kind of ugly cycle of crime and distrust could be fixed when the Order finally adopted Ion's reforms.

"I guess some stuff ain't changin' no matter what world." he commented.

She smiled, with hope but also with a tiny hint of sadness. "It's just too bad that it took this long for people to start doing anything about it." She said nothing for a moment, lost in thought, but then suddenly giggled. "It's pretty weird to be talking about something like this with a total stranger though, isn't it? Hehe. I'm Anise, by the way!"

But he didn't feel like discussing this with a little girl during mornings. "Least you dun' have to worry I blab it to the wrong fellas." he said. "Name's Tyki Mikk. Nice to meet'cha."
no subject
"Nice to meet you, too!" Tyki? For a guy who looked like a bit of a loser, it was a pretty cute name. Although... even if his appearance was kind of sloppy, the guy seemed really perceptive. He sounded like he had a better idea of how the world worked than most people, anyway. Best not to write him off as "just" a loser.
The intercom buzzed to life with the noontime announcements then, and Anise eased herself away from the couch, standing up straight. "Oh, it's time for lunch. I'll talk to you some other time, Tyki, okay? Bye-bye!"
