Day 41: Sun Room

Haseo's steps were heavy with the weight of righteous anger as he was escorted into the Sun Room, his posture so sullen and reluctant you could almost hear the nostalgic cry of an electric guitar. He was seething, and though perhaps it was a bit harder to be intimidating while wearing the uniform of an insane asylum and flanked by a bored-looking orderly, it was not for lack of trying.

Unfortunately, his nurse seemed unaffected by the act, and even with the cloud of failing to keep "Kai" away from "Peyton" hanging over her, remained determinedly cheerful. She merely said something about receiving a lecture later on, ignored his retorts, and assured him that it would be alright even though his internet stalker was in the same building. For the most part, Haseo tuned her babbling out after that, dismissing it as hopeless.

"...and usually this would be the time children would be taking showers, but you don't have to worry about that right now. Now then, le--"

"Wait. What?"

"Oh, all the children seventeen or under are separated right now while the adults go to the courtyard..."

"Hey, I'm not a kid you old--!"

"Oh of course you aren't dear, but you're not eighteen yet either, now are you?"

Haseo resisted the urge to do something rash, literally biting his tongue to keep quiet. But upon having the bulletin board pointed out to him, he shrugged off his anger for the most part and headed that way, fully intending to get more answers than he'd had time to receive during breakfast.

Well... at least Endrance is in another shower group, he thought, Thank god.

[Closed to Tsukasa, for now!]

Okay, last thing Kanji was in the mood for was standing around and actually playing along with this whole stupid thing. He didn't belong here. How was that so hard to understand? Did he look insane? Plus he hated freaking hospitals. That hospital smell just brought back annoying memories. And on top of that, he was pretty irritated some nurse had come just to drag him away from Naoto.

...Wait, not like that. It was only natural, right? Naoto was the only person he knew who was here. So of course he was more comfortable around her. Nothing strange about that. But the hag was insistent that he follow her wherever the hell she felt like dragging him. Ironically, it looked like it was the Sun Room, that place Naoto had been talking about with the bulletin board. Wasn't hard to spot or anything either. He went over to the thing to see if he could read up on whatever it was she had wanted him to read up on.

Kanji lost interest after about five minutes. There were way too many really long posts and people talking about bullshit for him to even care. Like he was going to stand here and read all that junk. So... Now what?

He looked around at the people in the room, already feeling himself getting anxious. Man, he hadn't tried talking to people since, like, middle school. Senpai and the others kind of didn't count since they'd gone and rescued him and saw... well, all that stuff. Wasn't much to hide from them. These people were all different. Should he even bother trying to talk to anyone?

...Alright, screw it. Let's try reading this stupid thing again.

[Eventual threading with Ed. Limit: 2]

Tamaki was safe! Whatever else had happened in the shower, that was the thing which eclipsed everything else. He was here still and he was safe. There was still a wide grin on Ed's face when the nurse finally dragged him away from the shower and his boyfriend. He sort of wanted to announce it over the bulletin to everyone, but that should probably be something that Tamaki should do, assuming they even wanted to tell people that there had been any doubt.

He headed over to the bulletin anyway, his damp hair hanging down against his neck and the collar of the t-shirt, soaking it through. There was someone standing in the way of it. Ed scowled in irritation. "Excuse me. I need to check that too." He was stood right in front of the damn thing!

Some person writing in some gibberish (what the hell language was that supposed to be?). Some long ass post about clubs (like hell was he reading that thing). People telling each other to eat lunch. ...What was this bullshit? Naoto made it sound like reading this thing was important, but so far he couldn't see anything worth paying attention to. If she'd said it, then there must be something on this thing, right? He just needed to find it somehow.

Course, it'd be easier if some prick wasn't standing behind him distracting him. Trying to sort through this thing was frustrating enough as is. Kanji didn't move an inch. He turned his head enough to glance back (and down) at the guy who'd opened his trap. "Then either go 'round or wait your turn."

Ed just looked back at Kanji impassively. He wasn't intimidated by being looked down as. He was used to it. It was rare (though he hated to admit it) that he wasn't being looked down at considering most people were freakishly tall. "You should just move over," he said, crossing his arms over his chest, the automail clearly visible. He wasn't planning on backing down. It was the principle of the thing.

Oh damn. This kid was going to be a pain in the ass about this, wasn't he? If he didn't sound annoyed before, he sure as hell did now. "You should just shut your yap already."

Was it really that hard to go around? Plus, he could finish reading faster without this moron distracting him. Kanji hardened his look on the kid... but ended up staring at his arm. ...The hell was that? He had a robot arm? Or was it part of some costume thing?

Ed narrowed his eyes, glaring at the taller boy with some irritation. What was the problem? All he needed to do was to budge over a bit so that Ed could see the notices. Was that really too difficult for him? The only reason that Ed didn't just make things descend into brawling was that he really didn't want to get sedated. "Why would I even listen to you?" Ed said, rolling his eyes as he began to push himself towards the bulletin.

[identity profile] liveforthispart.livejournal.com 2009-05-20 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Okay this was really pissing him off. Who the hell did this kid think he was? Like he could just walk over and start running his mouth and have everyone just do whatever the hell he said.

"I got no reason to listen to you either!" Kanji snapped, finally facing the kid completely as soon as he started to move his way closer. "Quit acting like a freaking brat. What the hell's the big emergency you can't wait one damn minute?"

This was one situation when Ed would have loved to pull rank, but it just didn't work when people weren't part of the military, and being a State Alchemist didn't work with people from other worlds either. It was frustrating. "Telling people that one of our friends isn't dead actually," he snarled back. He wasn't going to post it himself, but he might just leave a few comments to let people know. Ritsuka had sounded really worried.

[identity profile] liveforthispart.livejournal.com 2009-05-20 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
The anger suddenly evaporated like it had never been there in the first place, making way for complete shock. Well... That sure as hell sounded like an emergency. Now Kanji kinda felt bad. Though he still didn't think he did anything wrong. "W-Well... Why didn't you just say that in the first place?!"

He actually did move a step to the side. This was the kind of thing you usually say sorry for. But he wasn't sure how one really went about that. So he opted for just awkwardly standing there.

[identity profile] lost-metal.livejournal.com 2009-05-20 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, Ed knew that would work, even if it was true. He moved into the space, skimming the notes to find the one from Ritsuka and quickly scrawling a reply. There, hopefully he'd either see that or find Tamaki himself and stop worrying himself half to death too.

He turned to look up at the other boy. "Because I didn't feel like it." It wasn't any of his business anyway. He skimmed the board again, checking for any weapon requests or notes from Hughes, but found nothing.
