Day 39: Sun Room [Fourth Shift]
Yue was all too pleased to leave the cafeteria by the time lunch was over, even if he still wasn't satisfied that Fai was properly taking care of himself. It was clear that Touya hadn't accepted the answers he'd been given and intended to find out just what the guardian wasn't telling him, and being watched so closely was beginning to get uncomfortable.
It was clear that the truth would have to come out at some point, especially if they were going to be spending any amount of time together. Avoiding him was entirely out of the question, but at the same time Yue stubbornly refused to consider the idea of just outright telling him about what had happened in the last week. It was a dilemma indeed, and only served to make him even more irritable than ever.
How could he admit any of it? That he was weak and crippled, betrayed and altered by his creator? That he'd almost broken the promise he'd given in exchange for Touya's power? The latter he couldn't help but be reminded of every time he saw this Touya, who had only just gone through it, and would remember it even more clearly.
Fortunately Yukito was staying silent for the moment, although he could feel his other self's disappointment at being unable to speak to Touya so far, and it didn't make him feel any better.
In the midst of all this Yue was rather dismayed to realize that the nurse wanted to lead him to the music room, of all places: that was the room where he'd met the Sakura-who-wasn't-his-Sakura the week before, and needed neither the reminder nor the inevitable noise in that room. He abruptly halted in his tracks and refused to continue on. The nurse seemed initially disappointed, but finally agreed to let him stay in the Sun Room instead; the guardian found a corner in which to stand, arms folded across his chest and lost in his ownbrooding thoughts.

"You're wrong!" A part of him knew it was stupid, but Haku reatched out and pushed one of the nurses away. It wasn't as hard as he could have, but it had a bit of force behind it.

At that the looming orderlies did finally move forward, each one reaching to take one of the boy's arms. "I think maybe you should go back to your room now," the second nurse suggested, frowning in concern at her co-worker before turning her attention back to the boy.

Spinning on the balls of his feet, he pulled his arms away from the orderlies reaching hands and instead moved to grab one of theirs with the intention of breaking a bone or two. He continued to move no matter what though. A still target was a dead target.
no subject
His companion drew back just slightly, unwilling to dive in alone now that Chris had proven himself quite capable of and willing to use violence - and he wouldn't have to, for more orderlies had arrived from the cafeteria door, alerted by an unseen signal and moving in to surround the boy.
The nurse he'd shoved earlier caught her breath again and pushed to her feet, reaching into her pocket with a shaky hand to retrieve syringe and vial and focusing very intently on preparing a dose. She'd have to be ready as soon as they'd managed to subdue Chris enough for her to administer it, after all. There'd be no time to waste.

His foot snapped out towards the nurse he'd pushed, trying to knock the needle out of her hands. If he managed to break something too, all the better.
And still, the ninja moved. The orderly that hadn't been hurt was now being treated to a surgical strike to his face.

Though the nurse gave a quiet yelp as she found the needle abruptly knocked from her hands, one of said orderlies stepped in to make a grab at Chris' foot immediately after. His strike to the other orderly's face forced the man to draw back with a grunt of pain, but another one of his burly companions appeared to grab at Chris' arm.
And at the same time others were reaching for him, summoned to subdue the fight as quickly as possible, at this point aiming to overwhelm the boy with sheer force and hold him still so that he could be safely sedated. The second nurse, who had drawn back from the scuffle, now stepped forward with her needle at ready, just waiting for the first opportunity to use it.

So when his foot was grabbed, he started to turn to him, but found his arm grabbed. With the strength of his struggles, there were bound to be bruises from this, but he didn't care. He flexed his hand and with a loud pop, he dislocated his thumb to better slide his hand out of the orderlies grasp and to get to the man holding his leg better.
He knew he would go down soon, but he would go down swinging.
no subject
Such a violent reaction was so out of character for the boy, but clearly he'd been through a lot in his past, so perhaps it was to be expected. Even as the nurse hurried in to take advantage of a brief moment when an orderly managed to capture Chris' arm just long enough for her to inject the sedative, she still couldn't help but feel a little bit of sympathy for him. Well, now that Mr. Fortune was gone, perhaps Christopher would be able to start to recover for real. She could only hope, the poor boy.
no subject
Really, it had been pointless, but ... But nothing. Pointless and now he'd be thrown in that cell again. Still, he wanted to try and fix someof the damage.
"S-sorry," he managed. His voice was slurring slightly, and his tone was soft, but he was still somewhat coherent. "Forrr h-hurting. You."
no subject
The original nurse stepped in again to take a cursory look at the boy's injuries, tsk'ing quietly in mild dismay until startled by the unexpected apology. "Oh, dear. I suppose it must have been a shock for you, wasn't it?" She gave his shoulder a gentle pat and nodded to the two orderlies. "We're going to give you some time by yourself, Christopher, so you can calm down a bit and think. I'm sure you'll be feeling better after that."
Now that they were no longer needed, most of the other staff members moved on to their other duties. The two orderlies left behind carefully lifted their charge and carried him out of the Sun Room and toward the solitary rooms, accompanied by the nurse who attempted to quell the curiosity of the other patients as they made their way out. "It's all right now," she said, in a reassuring manner, making shooing motions as those who turned to watch. "He was just a little upset..."
