Nightshift 38: West Wing, North Hall 2-B
[from here]
As before, Endrance held the door open to the new area. The pit of his stomach dropped as he walked through the doors himself - the area smelled antiseptic and cold, as if there was no question that unspeakable things could happen here. He hugged his arms to himself, as if trying to warm himself before going further.
"Do either of you have a map from here?"
Oh, if only this was The World, where accessing a map was as easy as pressing a button!

There was an expectant pause as she grinned at both of them. But before any potential throttling or yelling could occur, she let out a little laugh and waved her hand dismissively at both. "I'm kiddin', I'm kiddin'! I know where we're goin'."
She wasn't stupid enough to go wandering around this place without any idea of where to go. And it helped that the route was easy enough to memorize. It just so happened that the door right next to the one they'd passed through was the one they wanted.
Harley headed right for the door only to find it, too, had been locked. Now that she thought about it, she'd never run into any locked doors before tonight. Now suddenly every door they were coming across was sealed shut. And she knew what that meant. People only locked up when there was something worth protecting. This must be where the important stuff is, where they don't want people sniffing around.
Shining the light on the lock proved it not to be in the greatest of condition. Lucky, since she didn't exactly have anything to pick a lock with. Nor did she want to risk standing around in the dark messing with locks. Taking a note from Endy's stirring example, she lifted up the wrecking bar and bashed it down hard in two quick blows. Sure enough, the lock snapped.
Bingo! She ripped the stupid thing off and opened the door.

"There's another door here," Itachi said as he went through into the next hallway. This was irritating; what they needed could be behind any of these. Process of elimination helped, but their time limits were still constrained. "This lock is also broken. Should we try this one, or continue down the hallway?"

"Depends on what's behind it, but we can try this one first and then... if there's nothing, we'll go further on?" he suggested with a smile. The irritation in his eye had returned and he found himself rubbing it again with the back of his gloved hand. Now that it was evening and he had more control over his magic, it was becoming more and more apparent that there was something wrong with his eye, that it wasn't as simple as an itch or a speck of dust. It was something that might affect his magic as well.

"It shouldn't take too long to look around the room. If it has the type of supplies we need, great. And if it doesn't... well, that'll be bad, but we can easily move on."

The door she needed was open here, too. Tonight was becoming very fortunate.

This place so far was fond of the obvious threats, but it wouldn't surprise Jiraiya if it went for something a bit more subtle. Or if even some of the patients liked to prey on others. It was those instincts that had kept him alive for so long.
Jiraiya shrugged in response to Renamon, finally, and then kept on going. She could find him silly if she wanted to. His movements were relaxed, despite his watchful eye. No doubt it was the same with Renamon.
... Also, he thought too much, sometimes.

So far Wesker's luck was holding, he dashed into the hall and immediately turned to head through the decontamination room. The lab would be an excellent place to fight Leon, and if need be Wesker was willing to lead another chase to a secondary location.
A second run right after this one would not be a good idea, though, but he had a few plans for what to do in the lab.

Here, too, the door into the decontamination room had had its lock smashed and ripped off. "Someone's been doing our dirty work for us tonight," Indy commented, leaning in to peer through the hall. He didn't see anything moving.
"Why the morgue?" he asked. He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to know, given Pierson's potential latent violent tendencies, but it was worth asking nonetheless.

He glanced at Jones, almost amused by the question. It would have been a closer thing under other circumstances. "Several reasons," he replied. "Have you been keeping track of the bulletin board?" He hesitated, then added, "If you'd rather not accompany me, I'd understand. I think I can keep myself out of trouble for the few minutes I'd need."

He wasn't crazy about that last prospect--those all-too-frequent accusations still stung. Then again, it wasn't as if their possessions were historical artifacts. Just things they'd scrounged together, things that hadn't done a lot to help them but might still help him. Where the dead were going, they wouldn't need weapons, after all. Even if they justified it to themselves, what were the odds that there'd be a still-dressed body on the slab with full pockets for Pierson to rifle through?
He'd hold off on answering until he got an explanation, but Indy already knew he was going.

"Besides," he added, "we might find a use for the sort of equipment they'd likely be storing. Even if there's nothing educational, the trip won't be a complete loss."

Feeling suddenly apprehensive, he went through the door into the next room.

"At least we know we're not the only ones still left out," Methos stated, glancing back with a grimace at the door behind them. "We must have a little time yet before the guards make their rounds." Or tossed the gas canisters into the air vents, or however it was they knocked the patients out for transport back to their rooms.

He delivered the usual sequence of kicks and blows with unusual rapidity until the door broke down before them.
