Day 38: Game Room
She’d never been in the Game Room before.
It didn’t look spectacularly interesting, she had to admit… but it’d be more fun than just hanging out in the Sun Room, right? Yuffie idly thumbed through a deck of cards, walking around the room to examine various bits and pieces. Board games, video games, chess… No really awesome prank material that she could see, but maybe she could rope somebody into a game of poker? That could be fun, but… ah, then again, most of the patients were just like her -- they didn’t have anything really cool that she could swindle out of them. Not until Nightshift, anyway.
Still! She’d keep it in mind. It wasn’t like there was anybody else in the room yet anyway, so any potential swindling would have to wait a little while. What could she do in the meantime, huh? Pick- pocketing a nurse could be fun..! Wait -- no, not when it was quiet like this. She’d have to wait until there was more cover, unless she got distracted. Yuffie hadn’t stolen anything in days, not since that time in Doyleton, with the Kaito kid…
Yuffie smirked. That had been fun.

Sighing, Kio sat down and smiled. It was his "I kind of like you" smile, which might turn into "You're a boring sod" glare or "I think I could like you more" grin. "Oh, no, I'm sure you're the Red I'm looking for. The sexy one." Okay, out on a limb here, as he hadn't actually seen any of the other redheads. "My name's Kio. I saw you in Arts and Crafts yesterday and you seemed a bit... lonely. I thought I'd come over and talk to you."
Now all he needed to do was make a comment about Reno's amazing art and it would be like meeting Sou-chan again, except this guy could inflict pain.

Okay. Really entertaining. Some booze might've made the entire experience even better, but he'd do without. Truthfully, he wasn't sure if the guy was just fucking around with him or not -- because if he really had seen Reno in Arts & Crafts, he would've seen Elena hanging onto him which hardly spelled lonely -- but who gave a shit? A game was a game.
Fortunately for Rude, Reno's back was turned, though, so he didn't catch his partner lurking there. Instead, he tilted his head and turned around on the couch so that his leg just barely brushed against his newest companion's.
"Just to talk?"

He had thought of several opening lines, ranging from "I like your mullet" to "Why do you hang out with zombies?" when Reno's leg flickered by his. Kio blinked, startled. This was an unexpected turn. So... maybe Reno was gay. Or bisexual. Or just really liked blonde guys with dorky glasses.
"Oh, I'm sure you could show me how to win on this stupid thing," Kio replied, his hand waving lazily, his body shifting closer on the couch. "But then, that would mean we wouldn't talk about you. I'm Kio, by the way."
no subject
...Probably wasn't gonna be any lost clothing here, though. Good thing or no? Hard to decide. At any rate, Kio looked for a second like this wasn't quite heading in the direction he'd expected, which was obviously Reno's cue to keep on going.
"Oh, I dunno," he replied, struggling to suppress a wholly amused smirk, failing, and turning it into a flirtatious smile instead. "Seems you've been watching me already, yeah? Maybe we should talk about you, Kio. S'only fair."
no subject
Watching him? Uh... if by that Reno meant that Kio had spotted him once and under threat of his brain and his feet being switched around by the bald zombie, then yes, the redhead had indeed been watched. The blond was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. Not with Reno himself but with the way this conversation was going. Still, he'd made a promise.
"I'm not a stalker." The stalker was across the room, playing with Demyx. Kio had caught a glimpse and it ate at him that Sou-chan would be so relaxed and careless. Maybe they were medicating him here. Determined not to lead Beacon of Truth down, Kio's hand reached out and took Reno's. "I'm not a very interesting subject, you know. I'm just an artist from Japan. I... I don't like seeing people sad, Reno. You looked sad. I wanted to make that better." Kio smiled, his warm, sincere, gullible smile.
no subject
Of course, he wasn't sure if he was supposed to feel bad for fucking with the guy like this. Maybe he would (but only a little because hey, Kio was still the one who started this entire thing in the first place) if Kio was completely sincere, but Reno was starting to get the sense that there was something else going on. There was no way anyone could be like this for real and still have entirely innocent desires; either Kio was bullshitting as much as Reno was or he just really, really wanted to get into Reno's pants.
Either way, time to find out. Even if it blew his cover, but no one ever accused him of being patient.
"Oh, yeah? So," he said, shifting even closer and if there was a glint of something less-than-innocent that flickered in his eyes...well, hell, he could only put on a good show for so long, dammit, unless he was doing this shit for a job. "Show me how you're gonna make it better, then."
no subject
In a sense, had he known about Reno's thoughts, Kio would have felt more comfortable. He'd lied to Sou-chan. He had never told anyone about it, but the reason for talking to Soubi wasn't because of the art. It was because he seemed sad. And the wounds, the bandages around Soubi's neck... those had cut Kio inside, making him want to help even more. He'd been a nuisance, but Soubi accepted him, flaws and all.
Reno, though... Reno was a different story. He knew what he was doing and when he moved closer, Kio found himself blushing slightly. He let go of Reno's hand and sighed. Opening his mouth to answer, he felt something hit the bad of his head. A... playing card? Kio looked up and noticed Ophelia tossing them. Oh. Well, he wasn't hurt. "I'm sorry," he replied, turning back to Reno with a smile. "I don't have powers to make it better immediately." His right hand he placed on Reno's shoulder, slowly stroking the man's collarbone. "I'm not sure my nurse would approve of me making friends quite in this manner." Kio's heart beat wildly. He was excited, amused but also a bit... apprehensive, perhaps?
no subject
He could sense someone staring at him, though he didn't turn around to look. It wasn't like it mattered, anyway. Reno was hardly a private person.
Oh, but Kio was blushing now. Jesus, if this kid ever set foot in the slums of Midgar, he'd be eaten alive in two seconds.
Reno cocked an eyebrow, tongue running along his teeth, deliberate. He could've made the first move by now -- hell, he could've made it the second Kio sat down -- but he wanted to see just how far Kio was willing to go.
"C'mon. You care about the nurses? 'Cause I sure as hell don't."
no subject
Of course, it wouldn't make for a great story back home. 'I got taken to this asylum, giant rats tried to eat me, they took my lollipops, I met a zombie and slept with a guy I hardly knew.' To Kio it sounded like a long version of 'I sold my art for a piece of redhead.'
"I don't particularly like the thought of being sedated, that's all." His hand travelled up the man neck, his fingers slowly mapping out his skin. Kio had sometimes done the same with Sou-chan, in those times when his friend was asleep from the pain medication. He knew every nook in his friend's collarbone, every indentation, every muscle, twitching under his touch. Reno was not Sou-chan, not in the least, but in this crazy place, he would probably do. Smiling again, leaning forward even more, until his face was so close to Reno's he could see himself reflected in the man's eyes, he added, "You might, of course, prefer someone a bit more... maleable, in which case, please, do call for the nurse."
no subject
Why the hell was he even thinking about this, Jesus. Reno wasn't sure, but seriously, it was a good question, okay? Either Kio was actually this stupidly naive or he had a really good reason to not care about making such an offer. Or both. Could it be both?
Though his thoughts weren't detracting too much from his enjoyment of Kio feeling him up because hey, a prelude to sex was a prelude to sex no matter how bizarre the motivation or the situation. If anyone was good at separating circumstances and the person(s?) involved from the sex itself, it was Reno.
He gave Kio a look, tried to make it more suggestive than I think you might be an idiot, but I'm not sure, so here's me humouring you 'cause either way, you're still entertaining as hell, as he snaked his fingers around Kio's wrist.
"I like 'em lively, actually. Otherwise, might as well be with a blow up doll, y'know?"
no subject
Perhaps Reno had graduated from the school of ignorance, because he certainly didn't seem to think that Kio could read him. But he'd started this little dance and dammit, he'd see it to the very end. Quirking an eyebrow, Kio returned the gaze with his own level of In another world I'd do this willingly but to be honest, you're a better distraction than finger painting or watching paint dry, so you'll do and smiled as he felt the fingers on his wrist.
"I wouldn't know about blow up dolls, I only hang around real people. It's easier to, oh, I don't know, do this." The wicked grin never leaving his face, Kaido Kio leaned in and firmly pressed his lips against Reno's.
no subject
Feeling like speeding up the process, Reno pulled Kio forward, although this was less to do with being impatiently horny and more that he figured the nurses would be coming over any moment now and seriously, he'd gone this far -- he was gonna get all of the tongue he could. Besides, he was a damn good kisser and there was only so much time he had to show this off.
And sure enough, a nurse soon bustled over, saying something, but Reno was too busy tuning her out. He grinned at Kio, snagged his wrist, and scribbled down Rude's room number on the guy's palm.
"Y'know, he's sad and lonely, too," he called over his shoulder, already being hustled out the door by the nurse. "Maybe you could cheer him, as well, yeah?"
He was pretty damn sure Kio would never drop by, but on the off chance that he did -- well. Either way, nothing to lose, right?
Except maybe a limb, if Rude got pissed enough.
no subject
All too soon a nurse came over and Kio was opening his eyes to a number on his hand. He? He who? It wasn't like Kio was a one man escort service! He did genuinely mean to make people happy. "I hope you feel better!" he called back, while his nurse was slowly making sure Mr Akatsuki would go to his room for dinner immediately.
As Kio dazedly looked over his shoulder to locate Sou-chan, he touched his lips with his fingers. He'd done it for good reasons. Reno needed cheering up. He'd have to keep telling himself that, because to think of ever coming that close to Sou-chan was the stuff of dreams.
