Nightshift 37: F1-F10 Hallway
As far as dinner shifts went, that one had actually been enjoyable. It had been nice to have somebody to talk to, to show off for, and Sen hadn’t seemed to mind all that much. Except for that one teeny-tiny little slip, just after Yuffie’d revealed that she was a ninja…
What was with that?
Yuffie knew that it was a little unorthodox to be quite so ‘open’ about what she did, both back home and here in Landel’s. She had her reasons, though; logical reasons, no matter what anybody else had to say about it. And those reasons had a lot more to them than a simple love of showing off.
Maybe Sen was going to be another one of those who underestimated her, then - the woman had seemed to soak up everything she’d said like a sponge, hadn’t refuted anything, but… Yuffie couldn’t quite shake the feeling that something was off. Sen seemed so normal and, yeah, totally defenseless - but as far as she could tell, Landel had a weird fetish for kidnapping fighters, or people with some kind of ability or significance...
Ugh, maybe this place was just making her paranoid. Besides, now wasn’t the time to be cross-examining and mentally dissecting her roommate! She had places to go, people to see, and a Turk to interrogate! With that in mind, after a quick double-checking of her ’equipment’ - a small bunch of pens tucked away in various places, the gardening claw, and her flashlight - the young thief headed out into the night.

She had been hoping to dash out the starting gate armed with some of the pens, Kio's maps, and the strange black object she had found under her pillow, but with the lack of light, she unfortunately had to venture out at a more even pace. It wouldn't be fitting for the organization's Number 4 to run into a wall on the first night, after all.
From what she could make out in the dim hallway, not many had started to head out yet. Good. Less obstruction to worry about as she made her way to . . . wherever it was she was headed. She wasn't quite sure where she ought to go, but she was eager to get there in the hopes of finding clues to Martin Landel's location. Just the thought of Callisto having once seen him gave her hope toward that end (even though Callisto hadn't been able to kill Landel upon seeing him in that instance).

Maybe Sousuke would be pleasantly surprised as well! It felt so nice to be in clothing that she was familiar with, and most certainly had boosted the little photographer's morale. With her pillow-case bag ready beside her, Miku laid back on the bed and sighed contentedly. Tonight, she was sure, was going to be a good night.

"What's calling...?"

Re: F1
Sousuke swung Miku down gently onto her bed and immediately went for the sheets on the other bed. He could bandage her properly now, and then tend to his own wounds as well.
Re: F1
The time between had helped her get her voice back, though it was still quiet in the dark. "Are you alright, Sousuke...?"

Now, with cards stored in their proper place thanks to her outfit, Sheena slipped out into the hallway. She needed to pick Raine up, not kick Raine in the head, tell her about how she's going to be healing Soubi against his will and why it needs to be done and then get to the Clinic to meet up with Ritsuka so they could rescue people.
Wow. It seemed like a lot. Unfortunately, it wasn't all that was on her mind. Sheen couldn't help but wonder if being back in her yayoi would send off mystical signals given her visible cleavage that would make Zelos instantly appear. She'd smack him, but it would make her feel better knowing he was there.

Next, all that was left to do was sit patiently, and wait.
Re: F10
Bridget was still a little nervous about leaving Roger in his room, but he wanted to have his hands (or hand) free to help.
Ah, here it was. Smiling, glad to have made it here without getting lost or into trouble. He knocked on the door.
Re: F10
"Hi," she still hadn't gotten over some of her shyness. "Did you want to come in for a bit?"

As soon as she heard the lock click, she pushed it open and bolted out the door.

She just smiled and waved in farewell as her roommate departed, settling down on her bed with every appearance that she intended to stay there and wait until Robin arrived. After an appropriate interval, though, waiting to see if the girl was planning to return, she rose to her feet again.
Keeping a careful ear out for anyone approaching in the hallway outside, she moved over to the other side of the room and began searching through Yuffie's belongings, very careful to put everything back exactly as it had been before. From what she'd heard and seen, it seemed like everything was tidied up at the end of the evening when people were returned to their rooms, but there was no point in not taking precautions.
But there was, unfortunately, nothing really of interest to be found. It seemed that Yuffie had taken with her anything that might resemble a weapon, and the writing in the journal was nothing she could read. Ayumu frowned as she put the book away again and returned to her side of the room. Well, she hadn't learned much from that, apart from the fact that she'd need to be on guard against her roommate doing the same to her, should she find anything of interest tonight.
For now, though, she just settled back onto her bed and worked on mentally composing a report for Okita, as she waited for Robin's arrival.
Re: F4
Matt paused in front of Sen's door. He took a moment to straighten out his vest, even though it didn't need straightening, and secure his goggles, even though there wasn't anything off about them. Then he mentally reprimanded himself for being ridiculous about the whole matter.
He knocked on the door a couple times - not so hard that she'd think he was trying to rush her. "Hey, Sen. It's me, Robin."
Re: F4
A day ago she never would've expected to be thinking such things, but still? If she weren't adaptable, she'd never have survived this long. It made no sense at all, even so, but when she had it on good authority what was going on, then it must be true and she had to accept that and deal with it from there.
Ayumu slowly rose and moved to the door, somewhat awkwardly holding the light stick she'd found under her pillow and seen Yuffie using earlier. "Robin-han? You..." She paused with the door halfway open, blinking a couple of times as though unsure if her eyes were playing tricks. "You have new clothing too?"
Unfair, really. Her roommate got new clothing, Robin got new clothing, she was stuck with the same. Was there something about her world that prevented them from obtaining her normal apparel? (Though come to think of it, which outfit would she want, if she were to get some of her old clothing? That would be difficult.)

With a soft sigh, she stepped out into the corridor.

In the end, it was her sense of duty that got her moving. That and remembering that she still had the knife Rude gave her. Perhaps tonight she'd actually find something to kill like they'd planned on.
Only when she went to her closet to get ready, she was met with quite a surprise - her Turk suit, pressed and clean and hanging there as if it'd always been there. She gaped at it for a few moments before quickly changing.
Now she had a reason to go out; she could finally brag to Reno that he wasn't special anymore in his normal clothes.

Simply because she was human now, that didn't turn into a witless ninny.

The spirit didn't want to stay inside her room all night, even though the rooms were said to be the safest place. She had to go out if she wanted to learn anything and, as she already knew, there was much about this place to be learned. It'd been a few days since she'd last seen any monsters too, so... maybe it would be too bad.
...either way, she needed to go pick up her flashlight first. She could decide what to do afterwards.

No, make sure they did the best they could to help each other. That was the whole point of her conversation with Renamon.
