DAY 37: MEN'S SHOWERS (4th Shift)

There had been an awkward air left between him and Tyki after their conversation. Yuuri knew he wasn't the best at explaining much of anything, and for the tenth time he wondered why Murata wasn't here to answer the difficult questions for him. Everyone had been herded out of the cafeteria after that, and Yuuri had simply followed along in confusion as he headed towards the showers.

Yuuri still hadn't seen Wolfram yet and the young Maou was wondering if the blonde Mazoku was alright. Stretching his head up higher, Yuuri attempted to look over the heads of the other patients around him in an attempt to catch sight of Wolfram. Unfortunately, though, he was unsuccessful.

"Where are you, Wolfram?" He muttered to himself while stepping under the shower's spray. Maybe a shower would help clear his mind.

Haku shook his head. "No, no. It's a good thing." He smiled. "It's a compliment. Really."

"How?" Artemis said miserably, still trying not to look at Haku again. "I can't control myself, especially when... things have happened to you before. I shouldn't be looking at you and reacting this way."

"You're a teenager," Haku pointed out. "And you're my friend. You shouldn't be embarrassed or upset."

"Sometimes I wonder if that's such a good thing," Artemis said, frowning. "But you can keep control. How do you do it?"

"Practice." Haku shrugged a shoulder. "I'm trained to be in control of my body at all times."

"...I've never had this sort of a reaction before," Artemis confessed, looking worried. "Is everyone taught to control it...?"

Haku shook his head. "No," he said. "I'm trained because of the sorts of things I've had to do in my line for work, things I won't talk about in public. I can teach you though it might be rather ... difficult."

"...would it involve me being naked?" Artemis asked, looking excessively uncomfortable.

Haku chuckled and shook his head. "No, no need for that."

Artemis considered this for a moment. "I'll just... refrain from staring," he said, looking decidedly at a speck on one of the tiles at his feet. Oh, how interesting. It looked like Ebola.

"Will that help?" Haku tilted his head. "I could go if that would help. I'm finished anyway and will see you soon for dinner."

"No!" Artemis looked back over his shoulder. When it came down to it, being left alone outweighed any physical reactions he might or might not have. "Please don't leave me alone..."

Haku smiled. "Alright. I'll stay right here, don't worry."

Artemis felt ridiculous, but he kept washing himself in silence. "Thank you..."

"Don't worry about it. That's what I'm here for," Haku said with a smile.

He was silent for a while, washing himself in the most discreet way he knew how. "...can I still try to restrain you?"

Haku laughed at that, pleased and amused. "If you still want to, you can try."

He smiled lightly. He'd liked it when they had been playing, but the tone had gotten so serious again. And of course, it was Artemis' fault as usual. "I will try."
